We love eating at Shaw's. The food is always phenomenal. The service top notch. The ambiance is lively, but the acoustics keep it under control. A fine dining Chicago Classic.
Fawn was wonderful and made my husband’s birthday dinner wonderful.
My only surprise was that a kiddie cocktail that’s soda and grenadine with a Cherry was $9!! Was offer a refill and that was another $9. Had I know I would have opted for booze! Otherwise fantastic food and service
We gave our waitress a $50 gift card which was not applied to our bill. We didn’t realize it until today and the waitress didn’t refer to it when she brought our respective bills. We were also charged for items that I feel would have been provided free of charge or at a drastically reduced rate from other restaurants, ie. a taste of wine to help determine which bottle to order for dinner and a sample of soft shell crab. When offered these things, we were never informed that there would be a charge. The food was delicious but our bill was beyond expensive.
We were in town to attend a concert at the house of blues and decided to try Shaws because it was close and I’ve always heard good things about it. It did not disappoint. The next time we are in town we will be making reservations again.
shaw’s is always on point.
My favorite place to eat in Chicago. My hope the next big celebration is there.
So awesome in every aspect!! They remembered everything from my reservation request
It was nice and what we expected
As always, exceptional. My brother and his wife were visiting Chicago, and we wanted to take them for something special. As always, Shaw's was terrific. Every dish was delicious and the sevice was excellent. Their crab chowder is outstanding. It made for a wonderful afternoon!
Shaw’s Crab never disappoints. We were seated promptly at a very cozy booth. My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary and the staff went out of their way to make our night very special. We started with the Stone crab and clam chowder and both were delicious. Being a special evening we opted for the Alaskan King crab leg dinner. Pricey but well worth it and cooked to perfection. Overall a great evening at this classic Chicago restaurant.
Good service. Good seafood. So enjoyed with my family.
The food was very disappointing. Little to no season in the crab cake.
Was hoping for some recommendations from the server but really felt he was more patronizing than helpful. His response to every question was “ it’s delicious “ The food was ok. We saw the wedge salad being served at a nearby table and ordered with enthusiasm. Ours was a sad mini version of the ones we saw being served. The scallops were ok, the shrimp were over cooked. I will give them another chance but when ordering you are on your own. They do deliver on the by the bottle wine list!
Food just seemed average and service was very slow, several open tables so didn't understand why, maybe just the times.
Great fresh oysters, lobster bisque, and Caesar salad. Cheerful, prompt service.
The food was overpriced. All seafood dishes were a disappointment. The lobster bisque was salty without any lobster flavor. The stone crab was equally bland. The scallop was also devoid of flavor. The chopped salad was petty. The service was also disappointing. We indicated a special occasion in our reservation. But nothing special was prepared. Given the price, the service and food were unacceptable.
Love the oysters and the variety. That is what brought me back. Stone crabs are great but pricey.
Great Service! The blacked shrimp and grits were amazing! And the apple pie ala mode was worth every calorie!
Great place and fun
Delicious seafood celebrating twins 25th Birthdays.
Everything was beyond expectation!
A fine dining experience
Food was good not great - waiter was not very pleasant
Shaw’s never disappoints. Love the quiet dining room, the service…the only thing I wish for is to see a simple piece of grilled fish on the menu…
Chris the waiter was good. The food and cocktails were good.
Food and beverages were great
My sister’s Birthday, but really I’d eat in the bar at Shaws anytime!! Never disappointed!!
The service and food were outstanding, will definitely be back.
Our first visit to Shaw’s was the late 90’s. Several years and several visits it continues to be a favorite restaurant. The service is top drawer and the food is par excellence. This was a birthday celebration and it was spectacular.
Oysters & shrimp cocktail- fabulous. King crab legs- amazing!
Raspberry pie a’la mode- fabulous.
To begin I had mentioned in our reservation that it was my husband’s 80th birthday and in fact called that dayAnd spoke to one of the staff. At the end of our meal because I was giving my husband his birthday card the waiter asked,oh, is it your birthday?
Next, the food. We have always enjoyed excellent food and my husbands meal of surf and turf was excellent. I chose the seafood platter. The 3 shrimp were broiled and filleted but the shell was still on the shrimp. I tried pulling the shell off but it stuck,I tried pulling it with a fork with no success. The other parts of the plate were good but I sent back the shrimp without eating them.
