   Loved the vibe and the service was spot on, but the food just didn’t hit the mark. At all. — felt like it was trying to be something it’s not. All looks, no flavor. For the price I wouldn’t recommend it.

   The menu is no more than being very average and quite disappointing. We had the lobster and burger combo, with the burger being cold when brought to the table. The lobster was tiny and the lobster roll filling tasted very average. I felt that I could get the same from a road side stall and certainly not at the price that they have charged.

   We met friends for breakfast on a Saturday and it was an excellent experience. There is a good variety of delicious options on the menu along with some basic buffet items. I would definitely go back.

   The waiter/waitress are friendly and have patient to serve. I do recommend my friends to visit the restaurant. But if you are looking for good view dining, this is not your option, the restaurant is facing to the Nanjing East road.

   Lovely restaurant. The service was good, the waiter was very nice, if a bit chatty, and had several recommendations. The cocktails and mock tails were wonderful. The food was quite good, the steaks were done to perfection, and the macaroni and cheese with braised beef was wonderful, though rich. The pork pie was more of a country pâté en croute which was bland by itself, but was served tableside with an assortment of mustards and pickled vegetables, which was great. The over-all ambience was quite hip and fun. My teenagers enjoyed the music, but I thought it a little loud.

   I don't often write reviews but in this case, I had to celebrate this restaurant. I come to Shanghai a few times a year and stay in the Bund area. I am flying solo this trip and after good meals at a couple of places often mentioned in reviews, I came to Shanghai Tavern the first night of the Dragon Festival. WOW, I was AMAZED. The ambiance - excellent - the food excellent - the Sommelier Kiki (I think) - first-rate and the service was EXCEPTIONAL. Since I am alone, other places kind of move you along quickly - but even on a busy night, they gave me asked where I wanted to sit (at the open kitchen bar) or other. I chose other and sat in a window booth. I was never rushed - the pace was great and the waitstaff (Kat and others) the best I have had. GO TO THIS PLACE.

    Best Steak Tartare of my Life - and my standards for that dish are exceptionally high. Overall great experience from start to finish. Great staff interaction.
