Three catering rooms are designed to create the perfect setting for any special event or business function. For parties of 35-100 the Jury Room features stately woodwork, a mahogany bar and generous space for your guests enjoy themselves. For larger parties, Shandon Court presents the Court Room. This spatial room boasts ivory columns adorned with Waterford chandeliers and cherry dance floor. Had a wonderful time at this restaurant. My wife thoroughly enjoyed the Prime Rib cooked to perfection with cauliflower and baked potato on the side. This plate is only offered from Thursday -Sunday while supplies last as written on menu. I had the filet mignon with mashed potatoes and spinach. The bread that was brought out by Keith our waiter was all so tasty. A good piece of oatmeal bread with delicious flavored and plain butter. Hospitality is beyond words. Keith couldn't do enough for us. So well mannered. Heather the bartender sweet, caring also service with a smile. These two employees send the message to my wife and I that whoever hired them to work for their establishment are surely an asset. Looking forward to the next time. See you soon.
The best part of the meal was our server Loretta who was super sweet. The mimosa was made with Andre brut, I'd rather pay $12 and get a quality product. The handcut fries were too big and not cooked enough, they should have been halved. The concept and season were great but the execution was off. Meals were dry, bland and the ingredients used were not of quality-your basic mediocre run of the mill restaurant on Long Island.
We were seated right away at a proper table based upon the information we provided in our reservation. The ambiance of was a kind of warm "homelike" atmosphere that was conducive to at table talking (at least at the start of our meal). Later there was live music on hand. It was not too disruptive but it made conversation more difficult. Food wise, two of us had the Crab Cake appetizer. The portion was somewhat small for the money but they had a good taste particularly when paired with the provided dipping sauce. Another hit at the table was the fried parsnip and carrot appetizer. This was served with 3 different sauces and there was enough for everyone to share. One of us ordered the "Fall Hash" with Chicken which had surprisingly good flavor and variable textures. I ordered the Prime Rib end cut which was served Mashed Potatoes and Cauliflower Au gratin. I am told the Cauliflower was great (I could not eat due to an allergy) but the rest of my main meal was bland and unimpressive. The portions at this restaurant were decidedly small with one exception (Fried Vegetable Appetizer). The pricing was expensive given the location. We have eaten in NYC restaurants that had better food and cost less. Note: The sour apple doughnuts were excellent for dessert. There were some service related hiccups on this visit. For example, one member of our party had to wait 10 minutes for his appetizer while the rest of us ate what was served.
We met our friends for lunch and had never been here before. It was a lovely place for afternoon brunch. The menu accommodated both brunch and lunch. The mimosas and Bloody Mary were perfect. But our waitress Loretta made our visit memorable. She was charming, witty and because of her we would surely return.
I have eaten here twice before and found the food to be fine and of good value. This third time was unsatisfactory. The prime rib for $23.00 was tough/chewy/fatty. No better and maybe even less good than a typical prime rib dinner at a diner. I expected better. It was accompanied by cauliflower gratin: two or three florets in a ramekin and potato of choice. If I wanted diner food, I'd have gone to the Oconee.
This restaurant was very "common" and nothing special. The dining area was next to the bar and even though it was separated by a glass wall, the noise coming from the bar made conversation virtually impossible. Don't understand why the band had to play so loud since their were at best 10-15 in the bar, but I guess they were oblivious to other patrons. This restaurant was a big disappointment!!
Food was excellent. Nice selection of appetizers and meats and fish plus the Irish classics you would expect at an Irish restaurant. Service was more than I could have hoped for. Went on Saturday night. Live music was great with good old songs mixed with great Irish toons. Great place for anything from a casual date to a special occasion.
My husband and I went here on New Years Eve, and the food was outstanding. We had a waitress who claimed she was new, Shannon, and she was wonderful. She was very attentive, and sweet. The other servers were very nice as well. A waitress that wasn't even ours saw us trying to take a picture and offered to take it for us. Great staff. You can tell all the servers help one another. I will absolutely go back and bring family and friends next time. The music was entertaining for New Years as well.
My friends and I LOVE This place! Food and staff are always fantastic! Very welcoming and everyone is always friendly, great atmosphere. Can't wait to go during restaurant week! I love sitting by the fireplace when my boyfriend and I have a date night! I highly recommend Shandon Court!
Heather truly made our night and the live music. My husband and I were happily tucked away in a private little corner. Our food was delicious. Their signature steak is massive, and my husband tells me it was a steal for the price. I'm on a restricted diet and they were nice enough to make me exactly what I was in the mood for. Very impressed.
We enjoyed ourselves. The food was very tasty and abundant and the server, Loretta was wonderful, she has such a great personality, we enjoyed our conversations with her immensely. My only negative is that once the band started we really couldn't have any more conversation and left.
It was our 1st visit here. Had reservations, was seated as soon as we got there. Good thing for that, as there was people waiting without reservations. Our waitress was attentive, food was delicious, but small portions. Live music was nice as well. Had a terrific time until the check came. We went on restaurant week & told the waitress that we were only ordering from that menu. ( $ 27.95 ) When the bill arrived, there were "up charges" on what we ordered totaling over $11.00. The money wasn't
a problem, however we felt like we were " nickled & dimed" , it's the principle of it. Why bother giving us a " pre priced restaurant week menu" if you are going to charge us more in the long run. For that reason alone, we will not be back!
We've been wanting to try Shandon Court after hearing such great reviews from family & friends. It did not disappoint. We tried it during Restaurant week with our cousins. The food & ambiance was great. Portions were a nice size and the menu selection was very diverse. Would highly recommend it and will be going back ourselves.
Went for restaurant week since we had such a spectacular experience the last time we were here. It I have to say we were disappointed on how long everything took . It took almost 2 hours for just three of us to have dinner and the dining room was not full. I understand sometimes things get crazy but we would have appreciated more communication from our waitress. We waited at least 15-20 minutes for each course and she only came to our table once to say dinner "should be out soon" - no apology, and no sense that she even felt we were waiting. I also wish she would have informed us of the extra charges for specific menu items on the restaurant week menu- not that they were outlandish but it would have been nice to be aware. The food is still very good here and I certainly will come back but maybe not in the middle of the week.
