Overall, we had a nice evening. Food was very nice and reasonably priced but starters and poppadoms were expensive along with drinks.
Brilliant evening, amazing food, amazing staff and service!
Food and ambiance excellent, service initially good, but tailed off towards the dessert and I had to request both a menu and to place an order.
Had a wonderful evening at Shampan 4. Relevant COVID safety messages in place so very felt safe. Restaurant not busy but this did not detract from the evening. Easy to park on site.
Started with a Bellini in the bar. The Bellini which was superbly made. Once in the main restaurant we ordered mains only off of the al a carte although there are the traditional curries available. The food was superbly presented and tasted amazing.
Service attentive without being intrusive.
Will be back.
Amazing food and service.. would definitely recommend :)
over priced for average food onionbhajee like golfballs
We had a beautiful meal and staff were relaxed and helpful. It’s good to be back and will definitely be eating there again soon.
Our first time at Shampan at the Spinning Wheel. It is a very attractive restaurant with high quality fittings and furniture and a pleasant bar area where you can drink before eating in the restaurant. The food was among the best I have had at an Indian restaurant and I shall certainly return.
Very quiet Sunday lunch, but wonderful food.
After a long awaited reopening it did not disappoint .
Service from front desk to table was swift
Waiters very attentive, knowledgable & very charismatic.
The meals were far above any other Indian restaurants we have dined at.
Overall a first class restaurant that delivers
Service was slow xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Lovely food and excellent service. Atmosphere lacking but put this down to Coronavirus and people staying at home
Quite poor service, fairly over priced. When they wanted the table back they were quite impatient
Lovely food let down by extremely slow service (particularly in bar area) and astronomical price which came as really shock at the end.. a curry for four should never cost £500+...
We got put on a table that was wobbly right next the the entrance. Kept getting knocked by Staff and customers when the whole other side was clear bar a couple of tables.
We we rushed to a drink order and then pretty much ignored for the rest of the evening. Nobody collected our glasses from the table and we waited so long for the desert menu we gave up and asked for the bill. We in turn we got forgotten about again! Not good service at all! A shame really because the food was insane...
Absolutely love the overall experience of this fine restaurant having spent the evening for my partner Neil’s birthday recently. Service was informal and faultless and the food we ate was sublime. Really can’t extol enough the great evening we had. Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone and is now our “go to” Indian restaurant of choice!
Fantastic food. Fair price considering the quality of food is so high. Attentive service. Chocolate samosas were great!
Food was excellent, ambiance not so good, with very loud noise from adjoining tables.
Great service and food but very expensive drinks! Nice atmosphere with friendly vibe.
Outstanding food and service. First time visit but will definitely return
Excellent meal with fantastic service would recommend as great place to dine out
Arrived on Saturday night at 7.30 to eat at 8.30, we planned to have a few cocktails before eating.
Sat is the bar area, eventually got our first drink at 7.55, waited 25 minutes. Over all the service was poor and the drinks and food very expensive. Will bot be returning.
Beautiful food to a very high standard. Attentive staff. We had a lovely evening here.
Very pleasant, waiters were helpful and welcoming.
The food was good, you can get better but it was very nice. The restaurant is very nice and I would guess has a good atmosphere on a busier evening. It is a little expensive, but a nice placeaybe for a group as a celebration.
Big restaurant but had a good ambiance, the food was excellent with my rabbit starter being a standout dish, interesting varied menu over and above normal Indian dishes, good range of drinks and massive cocktail selection, friendly and knowledgeable staff, large car park, could not have wished for more, superb, we will definitely been returning.
We went there on Saturday night, a group of us
We have been there many times but Service wasn't great on Saturday, we waited ages for drinks, they seem to have new waiters who don't really have a clue what to do (which is not their fault) they need better training.
Food was good though.
The one thing they never seem to sort out is the ladies toliets! they are shambolic, disgusting & never working properly - it is not cheap to dine here and the basics they can't even spend money on getting right.
When will this restaurant listen to reviews and sort the ladies toliets out.
Had an absolutely lovely date night on Saturday with my partner here. Service was exceptional from when we walked in the door to when we left. Food was delicious and cocktails were lovely. We will be returning! Great gluten free options for me also as a celiac.
Lovely evening came here for valentines meal,
Had a real nice live music, and was given a Rose when we paid ! I love it here anyway... but they really did make the occasion special :)
Fantastic food and very friendly staff who were knowledgeable and welcoming. Very good value.
Great dinner with friends. Amazing staff, amazing food. Great parking too.
I had crutches and a cast at the time and the staff couldn’t do enough for me.
Highly recommended.
Bang average food made to look trendy. Poor value and very forgettable
Excellent meal king prawn vindaloo and lamb chops excellent. Confusion over early bird discount Shampan claimed we did not qualify for early bird 20% discount even though we booked it through their web site. Eventually given although explanation about qualifying a bit confusing. We used only option available on web site run by opentable. However shampan said open table booking did not qualify? Not clear what to do next time
Went for Sunday lunch with my husband and children. My husband enjoyed the buffet which was excellent value. The rest of us had a la carte menu which was very tasty. Have eaten there with friends and on a date night with husband. Restaurant works across all occasions.
I thought the food was excellent. However I thought the service was slow. From our pre dinner drinks onwards we waiting just too long for everything and this did spoil the evening to some degree. It was very noisy with a lot of large parties of 8+ which made it difficult to hear each other on our table for two and did get quite annoying as the alcohol consumption of the tables increased and the noise went up. I appreciate it was a Saturday night and perhaps it would be quieter in the week but with 3 dining rooms it may be good to offer one as a more intimate experience limited to tables of 2 or 4.
I would recommend it because of the food but I would not be rushing back simply because of the noise and slow service
Totally fantastic evening, food and service very good. Food was a very high standard and plenty of choice on the menu for vegetarian options as well as traditional curry.
Visited on a recommendation from a friend and was not disappointed.
The location of the restaurant is lovely, it sort of comes out of nowhere after driving down a few country lanes and looks great upon arrival. The size of the restaurant is great and nothing like your average Indian. I had booked this for my girlfriends 30th and upon being seated we had a bottle of champagne ready on the side. The inside of the restaurant is lovely and despite being very busy it did not feel crowded or feel there was any pressure from the waiters to order.
Food wise, we had a bowl of poppadoms on the table (full with all different shapes and sizes) and went straight in for mains. I had the cashew chicken w/ coconut rice and a peshwari naan whilst the girlfriend has the coconut shrimp with coconut rice and saag aloo. All the dishes were fantastic, full of flavour and just the right portion size.
The service and welcome was top notch (we were in for just over 2 hours) and considering how busy the place was you couldn’t argue with any the waiting time really.
If your after a different dining experience when it comes to having a curry I would fully recommend checking this place.
A great night all round!
Lovely food at the Shampan. We used the 20% off if you eat at 6pm. We were rushed, and time between the courses was perfect. It started to get extremely busy at 7.30 when we were leaving which caused a delay in the bill (we asked 4 times!) Apart from that, its a great place, with even better food.
Good tasty well presented food
Service isn’t great, we had to call the waiters over to order starters, order drinks, only towards the end of the night they became attentive!
It was very cold in the restaurant and even colder in the bar area, not a very warm welcoming place, isn’t usually like this as we’ve been several times.
The most let down of the evening is women’s toilets!! They are awful, one toliet doesn’t have a light working, one toliet doesn’t flush & one toliet door lock is broken, not nice for the money you pay to eat here, these toilets are like this all the time, we visited a month ago & it was exactly the same!!
Seriously spend some money & sort the women’s toilets out
Best food! Everybody so friendly :) such a great experience
