What is Shaku Maku?​Roughly translated, it means: ‘What’s the story?

    I discovered this restaurant during Taste Festival the past weekend. The portions I tried were so delicious that I had to visit this restaurant. I came yesterday and I ordered the sucuk pizza and the Ayran drink. The Lebanese pizza was super tasty and the portions really generous ! The drink seemed homemade and was one of the best I’ve ever tried. They also offered me the dessert, 2 baklavas. Also the staff was super kind and warm. I recommended this place to all my coworkers, I’ll definitely be back !

    We had a lovely experience at Shaku Maku. The staff were very accommodating and friendly and the food was delicious.

    Overall it's a very nice restaurant with a good atmosphere but unfortunately we found the service quite poor on this occasion...this seemed to be down to one particular waiter who didn't seem to enjoy his job or have training. The other waitresses and maitre d were all much friendlier. Food was good, though the menu has changed in the last year or two and the vegetarian mains options aren't as good, bring back the veggie moussaka! Hopefully our experience was a one off, as we have always loved this restaurant.

    A nice spot with amazing cold starters and tasty brochettes. It’s lively and service is friendly. We will go again!

    Amazing food. Portion size needs to be looked at but really enjoyed the food, especially Hummus 😋

    After a movie next door, we booked supper on the way home. We chose to share the 'vegan mezze for two' and politely asked if we could 'swap' the stuffed vine leaves for falafel. Even though the price difference was in their favour, the server promptly said, "No!" The response nearly sparked an early exit, but instead we opted to share a selection of 'hot' mezze starters with a carafe of white. The wine arrived at room temperature. No cooler. And it only got warmer as the hour ticked by. The batata hara dish (a 'hot' meze) was served cold, and we asked if it could be heated, please. We were nearly finished when the server returned the plate to the table. There was no explanation or apology for the lengthy wait, nor any comment at the end about why we barely touched the dish. Overall an attractive room, nice ambience and good value, but a forgettable food experience.
