Anniversary night out for us and it was great! Food service was quick and very tasty, order by the glass or do tastings for only $15. Beautiful ambience that will be even more amazing once renovations are complete. People were very friendly and hospitable...came home with two bottles of our own!
The atmosphere and ambiance was prefect. Can't wait to return!
I went with 2 of my friends. We all have been there before and enjoyed their wines and interactions with the staff. This time was very different. Due to construction, we weren't exactly sure where to go into the tasting room. Once we decided where, we had to walk across dirt and gravel to get to the front door. We were given only one menu even though there were three of us. We each decided to make our own wine flights instead of the pre-made ones. All of us got the Zinfandel and it was too acidic to even drink. The Petit Sirah was ok but not something we would buy. The Syrah and Midnight Dunes were also not very good. What a disappointment we had.
It was a Monday and only limited staff were available. We we instructed to seat ourselves anywhere, read the menu, and return to the station to order, which we did. We chose to sit in the glass room with a fireplace because it was a cold day. Although we weren't far from the fireplace and against the window, we were cold and went over to stand by the fireplace for a bit. Our food was delivered to us and was very good. We were still cold, but our food must have warmed us. We then chose to order flights to taste some wine. By this time, a couple had left and we were able to sit by the fireplace. We chose to buy a bottle of wine. All and all, we liked the place, but felt the service lacking somewhat due to staff off on a slower day and the getting up to make an order. There was also active construction going on in other parts of the property. This didn't really impact us, but there was some noise. Forgivable, we thought.
Always great wine and share-ables. Little too noisy last night. But wouldn’t keep us from coming back
Our reservation was at 6pm and the winery closes at 7. They never announced last call or anything. They just stopped taking orders. There should be a warning to have a reservation at 6 when everyone has to leave at 7pm. Especially if people are traveling a distance to enjoy.
Assorted cheese and crackers paired well with my dry red wine
We love Shady Creek! They have great wine, amazing staff and a relaxing atmosphere!
Good selection of wine....the food was incredible, and very cozy setting.
Friends visiting so we decided to do something special. Shady Creek fit the bill! In spite of being short staffed, this merchant rose to the occasion. Wine is fabulous and food is delicious. Definitely will visit again.
Online it’s listed as open. But when we arrived from out of town, construction crew on site confirmed that the business was closed.
First time we’ve been in there in a long time and everything was awesome. We became wine club members and can’t wait to come back!
We had so many bugs! They should spray and/or set out insect repellants. Plus our hummus appetizer was served with carrots that were old & nasty. The bugs were so bad that we left and went to another winery. Very disappointing.
They were very accommodating to us and allowed us to change tables couple times. They have a great outdoor area, still under construction but overall awesome place. I would definitely go back if I'm ever in the area.
I have been coming to this winery five plus years every fall with my friends. It is also so welcoming. The wine is great, staff is friendly and the food is good. Can’t wait to see it once the expansion is done.
We love Shady Creek. The wine is great. we love the atmosphere and we love Jane!! She's the best ever. We are moving away and will miss going there. The remodel is going to be fabulous when finished. We wish the business continued success.
Always a good time - great atmosphere, food and wine!
It was a moms day out and we had a blast. Everyone was so nice, the food & wine is great!!
What the do they do very well! Limited food menu but the pizzas, baked brie, charcuterie boards, and salads are wonderful and the presentation is great also! Looking forward to returning when expansion is finished.
Their staff is so welcoming and accommodating that I love being there. Wine is the best in the Midwest. Love the reds.
We love the atmosphere so much we drive an hour!
Here is the thing, ordering food at counter is messy. And last time we attempted to dine with Shady Creek they closed the kitchen because the chef “wanted to” ??? It was well within their chosen hours of operation so we just left. Plenty of staff hanging around either experience. We completely understand our current Covid protocols but really? This is NOT a low rent dining experience so let’s NOT make it that way. We are locals and dining here is a should be a special treat but it was just weird. Wine was excellent as usual.
It’s excellent I cannot wait until they are done remodeling but I’ll be back before then I’m sure of it
Sisters get together-great music but loud enjoyed them wine tasting and food was great!
Awesome Wine, great service and ambience. The live music was Also amazing!
Best service ever! So friendly. Food was good too and wine superb!!
Celebrated sons birthday!
Wonderful dining experience
Can’t wait to see the renovations completed
We came for the entertainment, but we enjoyed everything. Please have Jim Cathcart back! He's such a talent! The pizza is delicious. I 'd had it before, but my husband hadn't. He was pleasantly surprised. We'll be back.
The moment you walk in and get greeted by staff, you feel good about the choice to stop in. Grab a flight of your favorites. Food and relax for a bit.
Will definitely go back.
Super kid friendly, great food and wine, exceptional service
The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the wines. Lovely spot and plenty of outdoor seating!
We enjoyed our afternoon at Shady Creek. The construction took away from some of the ambience but it looks like it will be amazing when it's finished. We can't wait to go back!
Wonderful service, very welcoming! The frozen drinks we’re very good and it’s just a very relaxing pretty setting
I really enjoy myself
Love this winery
It was a lovely evening. Can’t wait to see the renovations completed!!
Great day at the winery. Staff was excellent, especially Jane. Music was awesome.
I was not really greeted. I had to inquire about my reservations. There was construction and we should have been told very messy for a Sunday afternoon. We were not offered inside because reservations were for outside. There was a table that was reserved from the time I arrived until the end I was there from 12p-4 p and never saw anyone sit the table stayed empty the entire day. I was not aware that we had to basically serve ourselves and then asked for a tip each time we ordered food. Don’t think I will be back.
