First of all, there is a mistake in the system: when we arrived for breakfast I was informed that this restaurant does not take breakfast reservations. It did not make a difference for us as the restaurant was not busy and they us immediately but you should be warned of this if you are visiting at a busier time. The Opentable system allowed us to make a reservation so evidently the settings for this restaurant are not correct in the system
Besides that breakfast went well. It has a bar that is located in the space and there were plenty of people ordering Bloody Marys and a very attractive pink cocktail (I think it is the Prickly Mimosa - it's pictured on the website) at breakfast. We did not indulge (we were driving right after breakfast) but the drinks looked good. We had the breakfast buffet that has all the usual offerings and two choices - continental and full. The continental includes pastry, fruit, cereal (both hot and cold), bread, etc. The full adds choices eggs, sausage, bacon, pancakes, and there is a nice chef named Andy making omelets. We took the full buffet. I don't know what seasonings Andy was adding to the omelet but it was better than most buffet omelets I've had. The oatmeal was also good - thick and chunky and not watery. The pancakes were medium size (so easy to control portion) and light, the bacon done medium - not completely dry and crispy but not rubbery and soft either. On the buffet there is only orange juice but there were others listed on the a la carte menu.
The staff here is very friendly and pays the right level of attention - checks in from time to time without being intrusive, and easily answers questions.
The view is as pictured on the website - out the back side of the hotel with full top to bottom windows looking over the back patio and the rocks beyond. The space for the restaurant itself is a very open floor plan that is spacious and comfortable.
A very pleasant dining experience.
Melissa our server was so sweet—after dinner, she came out and gave us blankets to keep us warm by the outdoor fires. Food was very good. Drunken tots were a must, and the fish tacos were great.
Location very convenient, service good and food was so so. Flat breads are more like ingredients on a cracker vs a flat bread. Fried chicken overdone and too much breading. Stay away from those. Wine list was pretty good, as was service
Good meal but really noisy. Attentive service. Not very much separation from bar
Okay menu, slow service.
Food was served cold, service was non existent at best
We went for Christmas dinner and really enjoyed our meals. The price was fair and the food varied and really good. They had so many bread choices it was hard to choose which one you wanted! The staff were all kind and helpful.
I've also had other meals at this restaurant and they were all equally good.
Fun spot to take kids. Yummy & great service!
Thanksgiving buffet was overpriced...it cost $111 for the 2 of us. Food was average at best. We were asked to pay before being seated. We were escorted to a dirty table, the waitress finally came over and asked if we wanted a drink. I asked if anything came with the buffet and her first reply was no and then said sodas or a glass of white wine. I asked for a red instead and she said nope not included... so I paid an extra $12 for a 6oz glass of red wine. Definitely will not be celebrating holidays dinners here again.
Thanksgiving dinner. Horrible experience - 3 of us got sick.
Made reservation for light dinner on Thanksgiving but when we arrived we were told only the buffet was available. Food was very good, but not what we expected. As we started dinner buffet we saw waitstaff serving folks in the bar-where they seated us adjacent to 6 TV's- being served from the pub menu. Argh!!!
Waiter (Juan) took good care of us and we found a nice wine, but really did not want a big buffet. We also arrived fairly late so got the tail end of prime rib. Waitstaff did go get additional dessert for us- nice personl touch. Josh- host- let us trade the glass of Champagne for glasses of wine which we appreciated greatly! Kudos to Josh, Juan and to the dessert chasers!
We were there for Thanksgiving buffet. Food was delicious and service was fantastic!!
Our food was great. Our server was excellent. The setting is lovely.
Our only problem was that we were seated (3x we ate) at a lovely round table in a corner. We had to keep asking other servers to not use the door closest to my 86 year-old mother on their way outside because there was a chill that kept coming in. It was oddly unaware.
We brought friends from out of town for their first visit to the new grill at shadow rock and we were all very pleased with the ambience, food and service, excellent!
Celebrated a birthday. Enjoyed everything. Waitress was very helpful . Even played a game of scrabble after dining. Very funny!
Great lunch spot. Food and drinks were fantastic. Would definitely return!
Our waitress Melissa was terrific and the food was good. Better for families than for couples.
Comfortable and good restaurant right at the resort. The patio area is very nice and there are yard games for kids which was a nice touch. Food was good.
Awesome anniversary dinner, wait staff very attentive and gracious.
Ate here for Father’s Day and was severely disappointed in meal. The mahi tacos were all breading / too little fish. Wish the server had told us we could get them grilled (I should have asked). This was the most disappointing meal we had at our entire stay at the Hilton and would not eat here again.
Shockingly mediocre, and that’s a generous assessment.. The Padilla chili was spicy and tasty. The Cobb salad was awful. The presentation was so bad we didn’t take a picture. The fungi flatbread was sweet and had very little mushrooms. Beautiful patio and location.
Great food! Loved the fish tacos, burgers and that Chile Mac and cheese! Service was friendly and timely! Great place! Highly recommend!
Good choice in the hotel. Jalapeño Mac and cheese was great!
Pretty disappointed in the ambience and the food. Limited choices, mostly southwest cuisine. For a destination resort, some distance away from town, I would have liked a finer dining experience. This is the only restaurant at The Hilton in Sedona, AZ. I had fish tacos and the Mahi was heavily breaded and deep fried. I could not taste fish at all. Served with tater tots and pork & beans with gristle. Pretty gross. Very disappointed.
Great food and very nice staff
View is really nice (but you have to come before sunset of course), service was great but the quaintly of the food was nothing special
This place is great. Considering our experience at another restaurant the previous evening, we were a bit anxious but the staff at Shadowrock was great. Sat right away, served right away, great drinks, fast service, and incredible food at reasonable prices. If you're staying in Sedona, it's about a 15 min drive. Great place to have dinner.
Went for "Easter Brunch." Nothing special although waitress for the next table told her guests about some specials that were not on the menu. Before coming, we read about a made to order omlet bar, but we were not offered that option. There was a breakfast bar but we would have to pay for what would be the free breakfast that would come with the hotel stay and it wasn't cheap. The breakfast bar had slightly more than continental breakfast but nothing that warented the cost.
The food was good, on the pricey side however. Nothing exceptional but good.
Great breakfast. The best hash browns ever. Delicious home made sausage patties. Solid dinner too. Try the bison meatloaf.
Outstanding service and good food!! The service provider was exceptional! I would highly recommend having a light meal here and then go outside to sit by the many gas fireplaces.
We spent New Years eve here and it was very nice. We had a great server who really took good care of our needs. The menu was very unique and tasty. The atmosphere was very fun and friendly. Great place if you are staying in the Hilton and don't want to drive.
Locals checking out remodel; disappointed. Bar so loud we couldn't hear each other talk in the dining area. Very limited menu and expensive. Sunday - Thursday locals get 10% discount. Even with that, won't return.
