We had a great time - Emily was out waitress and she was invested in us having knowledge about our fries ( we asked) . She went out of her way to get the information and report back to us. Our food was delicious - only 4 stars because the bao buns were tiny. Maybe they are supposed to be? There was more space in them for filling. There also wasn’t a great vegetarian option - a pasta with vegetables was presented but felt like a second thought. For the veggies out there, a veggie burger on the menu would be appreciated. Our vegetarian at the table had the kale Caesar salad. The kale was rough / tough and could have used more massaging.

Winnie & Lily are terrific bartenders, the best in the biz. Chef Becky Simmons can flat out cook really good food!

We love this place and try to support it as much as we can. My one comment last night was that the menu offers no vegetarian/vegan options at all. I don’t see a salad as being an option. When I mentioned this to the server she said some of the things I hate to hear as a vegetarian. Oh, we can fix up something in the kitchen. Or we do have a veggie version of —-. Please put an option or two on the menu. The food was good. My veggie bao buns were tasty. The blackened fish sandwich was yummy according to my husband.

We enjoyed the Lobster Scampi and the New York Sirloin. Both were perfectly prepared. SHADE is such a treat!

Liz, our server was great. And the food was wonderful. My partner got the garden salad and the boa buns. The salad was a good portion, and I heard the buns were delicious. I had the garden salad with halibut. The halibut was one of the best pieces of halibut I’ve had in a very long time. However, my garden salad was half the size of my partners. The honey vinaigrette on the salad was delicious.
