Came here for a birthday celebration and our server David was phenomenal. The staff was accommodating and on point always filing waters, checking in etc.
We got the 16oz rib eyes and oh my so good. I’m still thinking of it and I’ll have to fly back to have it again!
The key lime pie was DELICIOUS. Just the right refreshing light dessert after dinner.

This was a great find for a Thanksgiving day buffet. I'll call it and unhidden gem. Reasonably priced for a buffet, great selection dishes, entrees, sides, desserts, salad, overall well done!
What a hidden gem for locals. I met a friend here for dinner because we were attending a 8:00 pm event at Bob Carr - just across the street. They have Happy Hour here; until 6:30 pm for daily food special and 7:00 pm for drinks. I came on a Tuesday, which is Beef Brisket Sliders food special. I was happy to learn that I could help myself to making my own sliders and it was free. Everything was fresh and delicious and the drink specials were great! My friend and I were talking about how we needed to come back again. Our total bill was $24 and we were there 90 minutes.
5star outta this world kind of service!!!! Made us feel very welcome and very well taken care of.
My colleague had a little mix up with his entree (he wanted the full sandwich + soup, server put in as half/half). Easily and quickly resolved. Manager came out to make sure we were good.
Will Definitely dine at Shade again !!
When the employees wear a sweater to keep warm that should be a sign to the management that maybe just maybe the guests might be chilly too...as they sit without movement ...the service was excellent and the restaurant had more employees than customers... goodnfor the customers but not for the hotel...guess I didn’t need a reservation

I don't know if it is because it was recently renovated but our experience for both dinner and breakfast was horrible. After being seated a server never greeted us. Both times we finally asked for a server. For dinner, one person's meal in our group came out after everyone else was finished and then only half of their meal came out ( they had ordered soup and a sandwich). For breakfast the next morning we had to ask for a server after being seated. Three of us ordered oatmeal and it was cold.

We were eating our family New Years Eve dinner here while traveling. We were very excited to be able to have a nice dinner without leaving the hotel since we were all quite tired.
When we arrived, the reservation through OpenTable had not been received because their system was down; however, they were very accommodating and were able to seat us within 10 minutes of our reserved time.
To be clear, our server was very sweet and said she was the only one on the floor. But it took us forever to get drinks, our food came out at all different times, the appetizer was with the first round (of 4) of entree deliveries. I didn’t get the bottle of wine I ordered with waters until dessert. They were out of the NYE special by 8PM. We were there so long that 5/7 of our party left the table and we were still waiting for a check 2 hours later.
I still do not regret staying in the hotel, but next holiday, staff and plan appropriately.
We arrived within minutes of our reservation but the young lady at the entrance seemed to have no clue. She did seat us right away at a table of our choosing. The food was very good and at a good value. Our server was excellent and very attentive. There was a group gathering very close to our table and the noise level was a little loud for our liking. Overall the experience was very good and we plan to come again.
