Sfixio Ratings and Reviews
Dinner at Sfixio was fantastic. It was our first time there but it won't be the last. Owners Mara and Massimo have created a warm and inviting restaurant. Mara greated us at the door with a big smile, got us seated quickly, made us a cocktail, and offered us helpful suggestions on their menu, dishes which Chef Massimo prepared perfectly. It was a really pleasant evening all around.
The pasta dishes were excellent - home made and the Lemon pasta was tasty and home made. I had the veal which was flavorful and cooked just right! The appetizers of Artichoke were small but was able to share with 3 others - more of heart of the Artichoke. Dessert was puff balls - cold and not warm. The wine I picked out a 2006 Brunello was reasonably priced at $80.00 - however, they were sold out and the server (wife of the Chef) brought over a 2012 for $100 but discounted it to $90.00 (Should have offered it at the $80.00 price). There were no substitutes for side dishes (i.e., pasta in place of potatoes). Hard fast rule??
Not cheap, ambiance was minimalist.
we enjoyed every bite, It is a gourmet food place. we were told that the pasta is made out of scratch in their kitchen, and honestly it was one of the best we've ever had. Everything we had was fresh; the steak and salmon were fresh and cooked just to the point. we ended our mails with their gluteen-free chocolate cake which is amazing..
My husband and I love this restaurant. We are always greeted by Mara the lovely hostess and the service is excellent! We frequently order soup or salad and fish and pasta. The branzino is excellent and we adore the tomato soup. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. We will be back again soon.
The hostess/co-owner is charming and delightful. Their prices are fairly reasonable for Beverly Hills. Their wines are reasonably priced. It was quiet enough to have easy conversation, which was one of the reasons we picked this place.
The atmosphere is quite contemporary, if that is what you like.
No valet parking.
The food (I'm sorry to say because normally I am very positive) is only mediocre. We have Italian restaurants in the suburbs with better food. We were very disappointed. We picked this place because of it's location and in fact were a little embarrassed as we were with out of town friends.
Imaginative, authentic Italian menu, everything tastes good and visually appealing, warm owners and chef (people who care about your experience), lovely table settings clearly chosen with thought, easy access with Beverly Hills parking lot right behind restaurant.....
I kind of don't want to tell anyone about this Italian gem that's hiding in plain sight, but friends brought me here and I was won over. You will be made to feel welcome from the moment you enter. The menu states that they do NOT have a freezer and everything is fresh. And it is and then some. Simply delicious Florentine Italian food.
SFIXIO - on a whim. this is no whimsical place, but a carefully considered setting, menu and warm welcome, followed by excellent, carefully prepared food. this is a grown-up version of the friendly family establishment, with great pride shown by our charming hostess, so rightfully proud of her creative husband the chef. Quiet enough for good conversation, while enjoying realy good Italian cuisine.
Wow! Two years ago, my wife and I went to the Amalfi Coast for a vacation and didn't want to come home. A big part of that was because of the amazing food. Well, it feels like we were back there the other night when we dined at Sfixio. First things first, the food was amazing. My wife had the branzino....mind blowing. So fresh, perfectly cooked and beautifully fileted. I had the special pasta which was linguini with a light creamy truffle sauce, with actual truffles in it and lots of them. The truffles were made in the shape of caviar! Sublime! We shared the eggplant parmigiana as an appetizer. Probably the most elegant and sophisticated, not to mention delicious, eggplant parm I've experienced. Our friends had the veal chop which was fantastic and the pasta Bolognese. The pasta is made fresh in the restaurant and trust me, it's as good as Italy. The owners are a husband and wife team. He cooks and she is in the dining room. She's charming, knowledgeable and funny. The wine selection is superb. We had a dry Sicilian white wine which rocked! We will be back soon.
Sfixio was an excellent choice to meet up with old friends here from out of town. The food is very fresh since they have have no freezer or microwave. Mara, the hostess is very welcoming and friendly. Her husband Massimo is the chef and the meals were all fantastic. Highly recommend. The space is quiet enough for easy conversations.
