Food was excellent, as we have come to expect; service was attentive. An enjoyable experience for us and for our friends visiting from the South Bay.
Every single dish was fresh and amazing. Will return as our go to Italian restaurant.
Went for Valentine's Day Dinner. $98 per person Pre Fixe menu, which we weren't made aware of when booking. That's ok. It's Beverly Hills and Sfixio has a ton of 5 star reviews. It was not ok though. I'm in the hospitality industry and I've been lucky enough to dine all over the world from 3 Michelin Star tasting menus to street food and everything in between! The food at Sfixio was not world class and was not value for money....sadly.
Our waitress was lovely, the venue itself is pleasant enough too.
We made our choices, burrata and tuna tartare to start. The burrata's accompaniments were bland...we've had much better. Tuna tartare was mushy. Pasta course...."Molecular Black Truffle Pasta" and the Porchini Mushroom pasta. My truffle pasta was unappealing to the eye. Looked like caviar stirred through creamy angel hair pasta. It was stodgy, clumpy and had exactly nothing to do with molecular anything. Porchini pasta was ok. Mains...rib eye and the lamb. Both the meats were good and cooked well. The brussel sprouts with the lamb were terrible and my partner didn't eat the veg that came with the steak.
Dessert...mascarpone cheese in a martini glass with raspberries and 4 profiteroles, sold as "cream puffs". Edible, but uninteresting.
We had two glasses of champagne and I had a glass of Pinot Noir. Total bill for the two of us $256 + gratuity.
I have NO problem spending big on dining out. Especially on special occasions. I do however have a big problem with venues that charge like this and woefully under deliver against the promise of such pricing.
Value for money means different things to different people. One man's floor is another man's ceiling. I get it, but I truly feel ripped off the other night.
I've read so many glowing reviews that it makes writing this all the more sad. I have nothing but love and affinity for those grafting away in the hospitality business, as I have for many years. Avoid pre fixe nights here.
Your Gratuity for "Good Service" was $20!!!You paid 4 COURSES 2 Champagne and Pino Noir $ 125.50 PER PERSON +Tax On Valentine's Day!No Surprised for the Menu' you should get up and go or reserve the 3 Star Michelin would be great to see The gratuity and review after That! One thing was for sure your plate were CLEAN but after you picked up the check was soo awful maybe you should go Dutch that night or dine before or after V day!!!Trashing the restaurant after the check is OLD !LOL
Fabulous food in a quiet elegant setting.
Ambience is nice and civil. Tables not too close. Chef’s wife is hostess and server and is one of the most charming people I have ever met. Food seasoning was balanced, portioned just right and just plain delicious. The big hit was the lasagna, which is Northern Italian in preparation (pasta layered with bolognese and béchamel). Had amazing tequila cocktail —up and simple with very thinly sliced pepperoncini and not at all sweet. Dinner was not rushed and servers were not intrusive so we could have good conversation. We all agreed we would definitely come back.
Without a doubt this is one of the best restaurants in Los Angeles. There are so many great things in the menu but ANYTHING with the black truffle is going to make you keep coming back for more... I can't day which good things about this EXTRAORDINARY jewel.
Fabulous place with genuine Italian food and lovely service where you get dine in peace. A hidden gem!
Great all around. A real find
It was good, but not as great as I expected. The portions are so small that you really need to "go Italian" and have a starter as well as a main course. That puts the total price much on the high side, and for that price other places offer a better experience. However, it is walking distance to Rodeo Drive so what do you expect? I found my dish a bit on the bland side but maybe that's just me. The hostess (and chef's wife) is very sweet and friendly, in fact we adored her. The decor is nice, rather simple and very Italian in feeling but not too traditional. If we're shopping Rodeo Drive we might dine there again, but would probably not drive across the city to go there.
Although dressed up in true LA high fashion modern style, it felt like a homey Italian family restaurant.
The food was very fresh and delicious. The wine list left much to be desired, but the wine was okay, if a bit expensive for a recent Italian vintage. The service was great. Our waiter was the wife of the chef who made a point of the freshness of everything. It did not disappoint.
What a surprise! A delightful dining experience. Right there, hidden away in Beverly Hills. Excellent food, great service and a beautiful atmosphere. We had the calimari/shrimp appetizer [very fresh and tasty], the super special caviar/truffle pasta and the veal chop [my wife said it was one of the best she's ever tasted and she's the veal chop queen]. There were many other things on the menu that looked great and we will be sure to check them out when we return to this restaurant -- very soon. We will definitely tell our friends about this place. Only one drawback: no parking valet. So the parking is on the street a block away or in the public lot around the corner -- a hike for us oldies or anyone with a disability.
Food was wonderful... pasta fresh and delicious. The best tomato soup. Service was great...everyone was so friendly. Can’t wait to go back.
We always get a warm greeting when we arrive. We said it was our anniversary and the owner made it special. Offered a special wine. Everything was made perfect. Authentic Italian food. They do not use a freezer. It is a beautiful dining room.
I have no idea why Sfixio gets so many 5 star reviews. It is not that good. The server is the wife of the chef. It was a little bit of a "hard sell". She started by saying that she was so glad we got there when we did, because all of the tables were going to be taken. The place never got over 1/2 full. They don't seem to have a website, unless I missed it. Their prices are materially higher than on the websites I found. For example, the eggplant appetizer is $11, $12 and $14 on different websites and $15 at the restaurant. The portions are very small. We (4 of us) had to ask for bread four times and still ended up with less than a normal restaurant would bring over at the start. We thought the food was tasty, however.
Bread is complementary and is not DINNER! The fact you ask 4 TIMES FREE bread and Olive oil speaks for itself. Never the less we DIDN'Tt charge you for extra which we should have. The appetizer portion serves 1 person NOT Sharing for 4 with a basket of bread for each person. The restaurant was in fact full. Not Sure about pricing you are talking about. We said glad to have you early to accomodate you with no waiting time.We have quality food with balanced portions.NOT a Pizza Place.
We had a wonderful time and a wonderful meal at Sfixio! Mara greeted us as soon as we walked in with warmth and charm. The food was very fresh and delicious. Massimo, the chef and Mara’s husband, came out to chat with us towards the end of dinner. It was a lovely evening and we look forward to coming back when we are in the Beverly Hills area again.
This was our first time at Sfiixio and we were totally pleased. I'm Italian and love Italian food. And Chef Massimo does it perfectly. The pastas are fresh, and light; the eggplant parm melted in our mouths. And the grilled wild caught salmon was the best, crispy on the outside, tender and moist inside. We are so happy to have discovered our new Italian favorite. Caio!
Went for my birthday dinner and was beyond estastic. The ambiance was beautiful and the hosts were extremely welcoming. The food was amazing. Every bite was delicious. The appetizers, main course, and deserts were literally perfect. The pasta was perfectly cooked and the tiramisu was the best that I’ve had in my entire life. Everything taste fresh and I left feeling full but not stuffed.
We were there 2 years ago. The meal was so memorable that on this trip to LA we made it a point to return. We were not disappointed.
My friend and I ate the veal chop was the best also the pasta was very good. I recommend going to eat at this restaurant.
Best Italian food in all of Los Ángeles. Each course was perfection. The owners are super friendly and their recommendations were perfect. Everything was delicious and the restaurant was beautiful.
This is quickly becoming one of my favorite restaurants. The high quality food is excellent, tasty and organic. It's a great place to have a relaxed dinner with friends who like to hang out and enjoy each other's company.
The owner/hostess is accommodating and eager to make dining here a memorable experience.
The food was wonderful. This lovely husband and wife team are hospitable and charming. The food is authentic Italian. The nice thing is that it is not heavy but very fresh, clean and light. we plan to return over and over!!
What a wonderful experience. This is not a trattoria. It’s gourmet Italian food in a striking yet intimate setting. And gracious hosts.
We love Sfixio! The food is always fresh and delicious. The truffle pasta is superb. Mara and Massino always make us feel right at home. Definitely a must for anyone visiting Los Angeles. One of the best restaurants in Beverly Hills!!!
This is authentic Italian food made by authentic Italian chefs.
Sifixio delivers what they promise. If you want to want to eat real Italian home made food. Visit them
The amazing choices on the menu make it difficult to decide what to order....our party of 4 each ordered something different and each of us loved our choice and cleaned our plates....the dinner portions are the perfect size and leave room for the spectacular dessert selection.....we highly recommend sfixio and the hospitality of the owners
Truly a gem of a restaurant in an unassuming location in Beverly Hills. You couldn’t ask for a more charismatic hostess and more welcoming experience. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and lack of pretension. Everything was organic, seasonal, grass-fed, and prepared in light but flavorful ways. This restaurant truly stands out among the throngs of options in the area, delivering a unique and memorable evening. You will find yourself planning your next dinner there before you’ve even finished your first. It’s not to be missed!
Wonderful restaurant in Beverly Hills. A Gem! Lots of parking in the metered lot behind the restaurant. We were greeted by the owner, sat at a lovely table (the restaurant is just lovely inside), and had a chance to look at the menu. The eggplant was delicious, and the pasta was fantastic. Everything so fresh. This is a definite A++ experience.
This place was amazing, everyone was so friendly. The owners were so amazing as hosts. The chef came out to greet us after the meal, his wife was there too. Made it feel like a big family dinner. We had about 14-16 ppl in our Mr party and this place was perfect in every way. Thank you again.
Excellent, authentic Italian cooking by a master chef from Florence.
Mara and Massimo have created a wonderful, welcoming environment that delivers on the promise of true Tuscan cuisine. Everything is prepared with great passion and expertise, and they are happy to guide you to insure your satisfaction. So delicious, so charming and so authentic. A great experience all around!
Buongustaio! Grazie di cuore for this wonderful words! We had a true pleasure in meeting you Guys! A presto xoxo!
Florentine chef Massimo Denaro and his delightful wife Mara Sampo combine to make this a wonderful and utterly authentic Italian/Tuscan dining experience. The ingredients are all fresh and organic, the pasta is house-made, and the preparation creative. Their special — pasta with truffles—is not to be missed.
It wasn't crowded and so the service level was high and the noise was.low. Great food.
Amazing food, truly authentic. Cannot miss if you are in LA, not just Beverly Hills
Thank you Mara and Massimo for, yet another, incredible dining experience. Needless to say the truffle pasta was fantastic (amazing the consistency you guys have in delivering quality), but the Kobe steak was just out of this world! Thanks again!
As always, the food was delicious and the service was excellent! Would highly recommend!
We had another outstanding meal at Sfixio in Beverly Hills. The food is organic and mostly imported from Italy. I recently tried the veal scallopini for the first time and it was amazing. Frank T.
Like being in Italy. Husband chef, wife hostess and waitress. True charm!
Food so fresh. The pasta unlike any I have ever had!
Delicious food, excellent service all amongst a beautiful setting where you can still have a conversation and hear the person next to you. A pleasure. Will return.
