Fab burgers & an exceptional wine list. Passionate owner really cares about you. I highly recommend you try this place.
Excellent food and wine options. Very friendly staff. Cute theme throughout the menu and restaurant. Great value. Definitely recommend!
Great branding, cool space, mediocre food. Good place to grab a cocktail and chat but wouldn’t eat dinner here again.
DineLA was so fun for a girls night out!
We wanted to get fondue and stumbled upon Severance while looking on Yelp. It is a cozy little wine bar that serves up lots of cheese delicacies. The server was amazing, he was patient and very attentive. He answered all questions and was very knowledgeable about the wine and cheeses. We got a cheese board with salami, cheese fondue and chocolate fondue. The cheese fondue was not runny and we loved that texture and it was perfect to dip and eat with the veggies, bread. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place and come back.
Great burgers, pretzel bread, paté and charcuterie. Trying new things.
Food was fantastic and the whole staff was on the spot if ever we needed anything. Only complaint was the very loud birthday party standing around behind us, but whatcha gonna do? We started with the Brusselsprouts and gruyere fondue, paired with the French red flight for myself and the amber ale for my beaux. Exquisite. We then had fried olives and the meat board. The fried olives were unexpected and the charcuterie was delightful. I then had a glass of the Burgundy (I wanted the gamay, but they were out so they allowed me to taste the other burgundy, which was a little more expensive but they met the gamay price). Would definitely go again, especially on a quieter night (so perhaps earlier than 9pm on a Saturday!)
Great service and great food. Extensive wine and cocktail menu without being too crazy. Excellent for small group gatherings or one-on-one dates/dinners.
We came for the fondue and was underwhelmed...not sure what kind of cheese was used...it did not have any real flavor...gruyere and emmental are strong cheeses....didn't find it on this visit...
The service was wonderful and cheerful....the home made chips were very good....the little gem salad was also underwhelming....wanted to like this place....
Birthday celebration with girlfriends. Loved the spot but I think it was a little over priced for the value.
It was great. Evan and his whole staff were outstanding. The wine selection is OUT OF THIS WORLD, especially at the prices. Quality wine bar in the Hollywood Area!!
Going to go all the time!!
Really cute place. Good food & great service
Will be back
The manager was excellent. Had the smoked guda fondue and was not disappointed. It was kinda pricy for portion size but quality was good. Definitely coming back.
Brought some friends to Severance Sunday night and it did not dissapoint. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and the owner/manager helped pick out fabulous wine. We had flatbreads, fondue and dessert and all were fabulus. Can't wait to go back!
Enjoyed our dinner, good wine list, good food, and excellent service. Flat breads were really good
The food was very good; service outstanding. The staff went out of their way to make us comfortable since we had a toddler and an infant. The prices for the food were quite reasonable but beware, the wine list is very pricey.
I love severance it’s one of my favorite restaurants in Los Angeles I highly recommend it, it’s a limited menu but everything they do is excellent it’s owner operator they do a wonderful job.
Fondue & champagne at brunch!? Is there anything else to really say here. GO!
Really enjoyed the Emmentaler & Gruyere Fondue and the sommelier offered a very nice Swiss wine to pair (didn't know they made such tasty wines in Switzerland!). Very romantic vibe and great date spot.
The flat bread was terrible, the most tasteless dish I believe any chef with half of dignity would allow leave the kitchen. Even after bringing it to the waiters attention and not having more than two pieces of it...we were still charged full price.
Will never go back!
I want to apologize for your experience Tuesday night. There was clearly a miscommunication between the waitstaff and your table about your flatbread. The flatbreads are one of our most popular items as we make the dough from scratch in house daily and cook them off on our wood fired grill so was surprised to hear your review. Regardless, we take full responsibility for the service miscommunication and hope you will give us a second chance.
Went to Severance again and they are still doing a great job. We had the Charcuterie to start and my favorite was the pork & pistachio pate. My wife had the chicken paillard and I had the steak frites. The sauce on the paillard was delicious and the steak was good but even better were the garlic fries. The manager gave us great direction on wine pairing and was very attentive. We will keep coming back!
Came to dinner after reading about this place. Warm inviting atmosphere, was greeted by the staff upon arriving. There was a pop-up bar on the other side of their space (Breakup Bar) so the seating was confined to one side of the restaurant. We started with a Lambrusco Spritz & East India Negroni both were great! The Negroni is smoked to infuse a wonderful aroma and taste. We had the fried olives to start which were super addictive. Decided to try the Charcuterie, loved the fact that we could pick and choose the meats & cheeses. Chose the 3 for $18 (pistachio & pork pate, and a couple of cheeses) the board had some great jam, cornichon pickles & rosemary focaccia . The board was pretty big but when has that ever been a problem! My husband had to have the Emmentaler Gruyere fondue, growing up in Austria he was ready to be a little disappointed but he was not! The fondue was thick and savory with an array of sides (more than we could finish). They had a ton of wine to choose from but we went with a really nice Pecorino for 12 and splurged for a glass of Sancere for 18 (both suggested as a pairing by their somm and went great with the fondue). Can't say enough good things about this place. The staff was very attentive but not in your face, the food was great and the atmosphere cozy.
The (I’m assuming) owner was very nice. They have a good selection of wines that are
The service was excellent, but the food left much to be desired for the cost. The wine was also pricey. I have had much better wine and charcuterie for cheaper at other places. The bathrooms were really dirty also :/
Fondue was delicious!! And this is a group that Noah's good fondue. Also the impossible Burger was fantastic.
They made a mistake on one of our appetizers, including ham when it wasn't supposed to, but the waiter was very apologetic and did a very nice job.
