   Really cute restaurant, but the food was sub par. The prices were high for not the best food. Service was okay. Thought it was going to be more upscale experience and didn’t live up to that expectation.

   The fish was very fresh and prepared uniquely. The waiter was outstanding. The atmosphere is very modern/rustic but can run a bit loud. For this reason, I'm glad our reservation was later in the evening when the crowds had begun to disperse. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the experience.

   Our server took a while to greet us initially. After that it was fine. The timing of our appetizer, salad and meal felt rushed. We were only half way through our salads when our meal came. This is unacceptable for a restaurant like this. The whitefish dip was really a white fish ball, like a cheese ball. The amount of do to bread ratio was of also.

    Food was delicious. Device was great. Never felt rushed, felt attended too. The moderate noise level helps feel like your conversation can be held at a normal level without being over heard from those around you. The food has a good enough variety to be interesting but you can tell they pride themselves on doing what is on the menu correctly and precisely.

    Our visit to 76 was on Friday evening at 5pm reservation through OpenTable. This was my second visit, my husbands first. It was not busy when we arrived, but a bit later I could hear the hostess telling others they were booked for the evening and open seating was available at the bar. The hostess accommodated our request to be seated at a low table without hesitation. It was a very cold day (19 degrees outside) so the room felt a bit cold to both of us at seating. Our drink orders were wine for me and Canadian Club with ginger ale for him. His cocktail was mixed differently than expected, but still enjoyable. We did not ask for a replacement. We ordered the crab Rangoon appetizer, tomato basil soup for each of us and shared the iceberg wedge salad. The balance of creamy heat in the rangoon and soup balanced with the cool and creamy salad very well. For entrees I had the Meyer lemon chicken with a side of green bean almondine (special) and my husband had the maple-glazed Norwegian salmon. I found the chicken very satisfying, cooked perfectly and ample portion. The salmon was much spicier than my husband had expected, but to be honest I did not read if the description of the dish identified the sauce spices. For dessert we requested two chocolate mousse to go which we ate after returning home. The dessert was extremely sweet and missed the mark on dark chocolate flavor I prefer. I imagine having it in the restaurant with red wine or coffee would be a disappointment due to the abundant sweetness.

    The food here is incredible! That said, it was insanely loud where we sat. Not sure if it’s that way in the rest of the restaurant, but our table had music blaring so loud we had to shout to be heard. We’re not fussy, fairly young folks with good hearing, but it was definitely hard to converse over our meal. If they turn the music down a bit it would be easier to enjoy your time :) our server was super lovely but definitely oversat - she was literally sprinting to get things and a few of our items took a while to get to us. Not her fault, in my opinion - just too many tables and not enough hands. We’ll definitely come back, I may just ask to be sat elsewhere :)

    The Crab Rangoons and kung pow salmon were amazing, but the rest of our meal was mediocre. I think because of the noise level our waitress heard the wrong salmon dish and I was brought the wrong dish. The server that brought it didn’t apologize when he took it back and it took our waitress several minutes to come over and apologize about the mixup (and the apology was was half-hearted). We got the crème brûlée for dessert which was burnt. I would have appreciated at least the offer of a free dessert or entree for having to wait for them to make the correct dinner. For the price of our meal, we were not impressed overall.

    I was surprised by the music choices and volume. Beastie boys? Heavy rock? I don't go out to a higher end restaurant for that. I was tempted to request they change it. Something more subdued and mellow would have been more fitting. The food was good but not overly creative. We had the beet salad. But the beets we made at home the next day had far more flavor. The Kung Pao salmon was really nice. Service was excellent. I was thrilled to have Chimay ;)

    Highly recommend! We were a party of (4), and we all ordered different dishes, all were excellent. My mom raved about her Madeira chicken; I ordered the whitefish with lump crabmeat that was excellent; spouse ordered the Delmonico and my son ordered the burger, all were great! Highly recommend reservations to make your visit more pleasant. Service was excellent as well, frequent refilling of our water without interrupting our evening.

    Food was very good - should have had more lump crab crust on whitefish. Server was great! Ambiance was fair and could easily improve. Suggest separating tables more for privacy, music was too loud and the choice of music not right for a higher end restaurant. Jazz would have been better and not so loud. Privacy at tables is pretty much impossible, but could be better with more thought on placement.

    My wife and I both had fish dishes and they were excellent! It is a small restaurant but not what I would call intimate dining. The tables are quite close to each other and as long as your neighbors speak in low tones it is not too noisy. Will definitely go back.

    It was very loud and sat near door and it was cold at our table. Overbooked that night and felt uncomfortable that we had a time limit there. We were served wrong meal at first and then and the nights special did not come as the description . Had no mango sauce on top of fish; it was very plain!
