Seven Steakhouse Sushi & Rooftop

0 stars, service was so slow.....we had to cancel our food order after waiting over an hour to get it. We allowed 1 hour 45 mins from reservation time to time to leave for show, and ended up going to show hungry. They showed up with our food 1 hr and 5 mins after ordering and 7 mins until showtime as we were paying the bill for the 2 drinks we got. I expect an incredibly efficient operation considering this is the only restaurant super close to theater district. Epic failure, SEVEN=0!!!! Never again!
Futchy and the sushi crew are the best in the business! Delicious masterpieces almost too pretty to eat, but soo good.
Rick was an excellent server. Food was great
I was visiting from out of town and made reservations prior to catch up with my Sis so we were looking forward to this. The sushi was mediocre at best and our server was not that informative (ie, I asked for Crispy Salmon Skin Hand rolls, she stated she wasn't sure if they had them. I told her to let me know has I had an alternative, our food came out and no hand rolls, when I asked her about it she absentmindedly stated "oh we don't have them"). I also ordered an extra dirty vodka martini with EXTRA blue cheese stuffed olives, not only did I get HALF a glass full, I only got two olives. Needless to say we were disappointed.
The food and service were top notch! We dined at the steakhouse and then went up to the rooftop to check out the skyline and have a drink. Great place all around! We’ll define be back!!
Great find in Minneapolis!
Disappointed. We were a party of 2 planning to enjoy an anniversary dinner. Our waiter took our drink order and we never saw him again until he delivered the check. We waited over a half hour for two entrees. Random guy that delivered the food to our table claimed they were slammed with orders and were behind. It’s a Monday night, are you kidding? Food was cold. Sent it back and it came back warm, thank God for microwaves.no apologies or attempt to make things better. Table of six next to us got great service. Hmmmm. Won’t be recommending.
Best steak ever! Highly recommend the 14oz filet mignon with bone - delicious!
Horrible service, would never reccomend this restaurant to anyone. Took forever to get basic drinks. Even longer to get our food when I asked the manager regarding how long our food took he seemed not to care. After this our food did make it to our table. They were probably butchering the steak and catching the fish for the sushi I ordered.
We were celebrating our anniversary and had a wonderful experience. Our waiter was awesome...a true pro. The salmon sashimi was on par with my west coast favorites. Sushi rolls were huge and awesome. And the scallop dinner was one of the best I've had in the past couple of years.
My brother and I were celebrating our birthday and the waitress was wonderful about recommendations on items. Everything was delicious- even the chef's choice roll! The chef's there really know what's up!
There were not many people in the dining room so it felt a bit like a ghost town. We went up to the rooftop to take a look but looked and felt like a nightclub which we were not interested in. Our server was friendly but I felt like the service reminded me of Applebees. The bone in ribeye steak we ordered was outstanding. The side and appetizer were so-so. The cheesecake we ordered was good but very small.
We were there celebrating our 21st wedding anniversary and we let them know about ahead of time in the notes when we made our reservation but it was not even mentioned when we arrived.
We went there because we were there a few years back for special occasion and loved it so much. It was a little disappointing. I’m not sure we will be returning.
Wonderful unique menu, highly recommend "The Feast", the tomahawk steak was excellent. The sauteed wild mushrooms were also tremendous.
The steak was not good. It was very dry. Didn’t think it was worth the price
It is a great place to eat and the sites are so great when your eating dinner.
Everything went well. We had a table on the rooftop under the heaters. Service was attentive, food was great. Even though outdoors, a bit surprised by the plastic cups Martinis need glass. A bit pricey..
Always great service and an interesting menu. Also very close to downtown theaters.
Not good service and the waitress clearly didn’t want to be at work as she seemed very bothered. The food was not good at all, there was long delays in food coming out and for additional sauce or even water to be refilled. Overall, wasn’t worth the money spent. On top of it all, it was a birthday celebration and it was not a good dinner!
Get the crab cake. It’s the best in the world.
The service was amazing, I can't say enough wonderful things about our server Alex. My family and I were visiting Minneapolis for the first time to celebrate my college graduation and chose Seven for our celebratory dinner. It was one of the best dining experiences we have ever had! Alex was very knowledgable about the menu and made suggestions that we would not have tried otherwise. We were highly impressed with him and the food overall. If we ever find ourselves back in Minneapolis, we will definitely be going back there!
great food, took a bit long to arrive even though it wasn’t busy
We’ll be back!
We had previously dined at Seven a number of times over the past several years and it had always been a favorite downtown restaurant for special events and hosting out of town guests. Our expectations were high based on prior visits. This visit was very disappointing. Our server was polite but not great. My guests (and I) were searched at the front door (that has never happened at any downtown dining establishment in my history), we had fleas and flies at and around our table the entire dining experience and the ambiance was not what I recall it to be, and the bill was much higher than I would have expected given the above. We will not be back.
This restaurant has a lot of potential but it missed the mark in a couple of critical areas. Our waitress Anna was great and very helpful. The bread was good although there was not a lot of it. It had a decent wine list although no cocktail list. The Caesar salad was really good but then it started to decline. The sushi tasted weird and not fresh. The steak was undercooked but not enough to send back because it is never the same when you do. We ordered medium and it was so rare as to be almost raw in the middle not a warm hot pink center. Also although we did not order a side still one would think that it would be adorned with at least a sprig of rosemary or some sort of garnish. Instead it was a Slab of meat on a plate. Also the choices of sides were not great if you don’t want something fattening. Most places offer some sort of veggie like spinach or broccoli or a baked potato, no such offerings there. With the number of good steak and sushi places in town it is hard to say that we will rush back for either.
rooftop was lovely, as was our server. drink was watered down, 7 oz filet ($42) was dry and had no flavor. crabcakes were good as was chocolate lava cake. overall it's overpriced and over rated. plenty of better places in town.
Best place I’ve been to with amazing customer service!!! Good decor and I love that I can reserve seats in advance. Food was good too.
We were celebrating our 25th anniversary & had a great meal (Philly & California sushi rolls & mozzarella balls). We split a bottle of wine as well. It was very good. Service was quick & our waiter was sweet & very helpful. Loved the rooftop! A beautiful night.
service took FOREVER. We were seated, and then not brought menus and water for over ten minutes. A different server than our section actually gave us them after we had to ask. We then waited for another long time before we were able to order.
The quality of the food and drinks is what saved this from getting zero stars. They do have very delicious food! Just was pretty terrible service.
Service was terribly slow. It took more than an hour after we ordered to receive our entrees. The oysters on the half shell were served at the as time as our entrees. The steak I ordered was a bit under cooked. While the meat was tender, just not much flavor. We ordered firecracker roll expecting something special, it was not. During the hour waiting for our food, it was next to impossible to get the waiters attention for drinks. The rooftop had a nice view of downtown, but that is about all I can say.
Big thanks to Judy for accommodating our group up on the Roof. Very much appreciate this.
Our server was outstanding. A big thanks to her as well.
Excellent dinner, service and space! An absolute must for us every time we are in Minneapolis!
Food was amazing, our server was amazing at Seven. Prior to dining we sat at the bar for a drink and stared at a pile of mess that took over one long tub sink inside the bar next to bottles of liquor, close to the restrooms. It looked unsanitary with rags dangling and items piled up ( items piled were not clean dishes ). We were very surprised being out of town hearing such great things about this place. We decided to change our scenery and thank goodness we did. Again our food and server were outstanding .
We went to the 3rd floor sushi space that had cable wires sticking out of the wall, slashed ottomans, poor service, and the wrong food delivered. The quality of the sushi was worst I've seen at any restaurant.
Rick was an outstanding waiter! The service was exceptional. The food was prepared wonderfully & had great taste. We’ll definitely recommend this for dining in downtown Minneapolis.
Server was fantastic, food was great, a little pricey but all
In all a good place for date night
Decided to sit on the rooftop, even though we had a reservation for the dining room. When we arrived there were not a lot of people, but when we left it was pretty full.. Ordered a second beer, but never received it. Took a long time to get anything we asked for. Waitress seemed to be to busy to interact with guests and give them a good experience. Food was great!
Food was awful
This place seems to cater to very young people and is not enjoyable at all, when you want to have a conversation over dinner with a friend. This place for us was a waste of time and money. A complete shame as it was reccomend by various people.
The laminated menus were sticky and needed to be wiped off. Other than that, its a cool rooftop situation, nice!
Great atmosphere, very high end. Sushi was great, waiter was great.
Only negative I have is that they are VERY slow when it comes to service. We were maybe 1 of 4 small groups that were there and our dinner took almost 2 hours.
If you are looking for delicious food and have time to spare, highly recommend.
