Seven Stars Inn
The Seven Stars Inn is the original Chester County steakhouse. We may be new to OpenTable, but we have been wowing our guests for over 275 years by featuring overly generous portions of the finest beef, veal and seafood served in a gracious white table cloth atmosphere. Legend has it that the Inn even served President George Washington himself in this very same historic building set in scenic Chester County.
The cocktail lounge is warm and inviting, and the well thought out wine list includes a broad spectrum of varietals and geographic origins.
Family friendly, the Seven Stars has not only a great Children’s Menu but also a Young Adult’s Menu. Both of these menus scale down the size of the serving and price of their offerings to help mom and dad afford an evening out with the whole family.
All major credit cards are welcomed.
I always enjoy the food at The Seven Stars! Service was great last night! The room next to us was a bit louder that expected and I would like but overall the night was a good one!
Haven’t been here in a while. Forgot how good everything is. My steak was cooked to perfection. Will definitely be back.
We took my mom here for her birthday, everything was delicious, probably the best meal we have had here yet! The prices have increased quite a bit, I’m sure somewhat due to COVID but we will be back soon!
The food was excellent (as always), the staff accommodating, the ambiance lovely for a Friday night and the service expeditious! Thank you!
We enjoyed a very good meal Thursday evening at the Inn. My only suggestion would be to make sure the bread and the croutons are not stale. We did not complain because we were so elated with our meals. The veal is always done to such a perfection as to not need a knife to cut. All four of us throughly enjoyed and went home with left overs. So because of the generous portions and advise on reheating we got two meals for the price. Awesome Awesome place to have a meal..worth the trip.
AWFUL, DO NOT GO !!! My Filet was way overcooked. Very disappointing for a restaurant that raves about their own quality. I was told a new one would arrive n 10 minutes. 25 minutes later, nothing happened and my wife was finished with her meal. I requested the manager (you would think that a caring manager would have come to the table as soon as there was an issue with food). The owner/manager was dressed as a slob. When I told him the issue he said "what do you want me to do about it". No apologies. Clearly the Canterino Family have become a bunch of arrogant folks that do not care about the quality of their food and customer satisfaction.
There are too many good restaurants, for much better value.
Do not waste your time and money !!!!!
The waitress was too busy with other tables to pay proper attention to a table with two clients. Did not bring butter with the bread, never refilled the soft drinks, rarely came to the table to ask how the dinner was---in short, rather indifferent to our dining experience.
I left a 15% tip; I should have left 5%, for basic, indifferent service and to teach this waiter that she should respect the clients that keep the business she works for alive.
Way too pricey even given COVID. Substantial portions as usual but again the $$$$$.
Glass of house wine $12.00 plus......too much.
If and when the prices are reduced to a more moderate level I'll consider returning.
Always an excellent experience. The food is outstanding!! We love coming here!
Food was wonderful. Afterwards, we stopped at their small bar. The bartenders, Joe and Trudy were attentive and charming. It was a great evening!
Excellent dinner and service.portions were large and all of our party took food home
It’s like going back in time. Nothing much changed ( except prices, of course) since last there over 30 years ago. Service snd food outstanding . Still with oversized portions ( which we were prepared for) but all very delicious. I remember the cheese and crackers as first thing on table . Loved it ! Still a little bit of a sticker shock .
Food was very good, big portions...staff was friendly, good service!
Been eating here for a few years for special occasions. Food is delicious and atmosphere very desirable. Large portions.
We’ve been going to Seven Stars for years. Food is always amazing and plenty!
The food was outstanding as always. Though pricier due to covid/supply and demand. The menu was missing some items that the on line menu had listed. But the waitress was able to have the kitchen make the shrimp combination platter for me that I had my heart set on. Our waitress Brooke was amazing ! Attentive. Friendly. And just awesome. Can’t wait to return !!
Great food, large portions, always a wonderful meal. Special requests were handled with no problem making a nice experience for the Grandson.
Great restaurant. Luv the place however lobby always smells little funky. Maybe old carpeting or poor air circulation
Great night with frienda
I have been going to 7 Stars Inn for at least 30 years.
My only complaint is the much higher prices.
But so is everything else.
The food was definitely good, but way overpriced. I have been going to this restaurant for close to 25 years, but won’t be rushing back anytime soon. Looked like they were trying to make up for lost Covid revenue by jacking up the prices on their disposable paper menus. Wasn’t hard to see why the place was 75% empty.
Dinner was very good. The menu was smaller than previously and there were no specials. From two sides they reduced it to one side dish,
Unfortunately, the prices have skyrocketed from a few years ago. The wait service was fantastic. The tables were close together and the business was booming.
More light in lobby for walking and for taking picture..please take down the deer heads.. The service was really nice..the salad was different then I recalled. But good..that it..thanks
Huge delicious meals! Never been disappointed. Excellent service.. Enough to share or bring home for the next day. Share a dessert!
Took my father in law for birthday dinner.
Service was great.
Huge portions and terrific food.
We will go back.
We had a lovely evening here. The service was excellent, everyone was friendly and the food was delicious. There was way too much to eat but no complaints about that. We will definitely be back!
We had our first date at Seven Stars and our rehearsal dinner fir our wedding there. We go back fir our anniversary every year. The food and service is always excellent!
I have been going to Seven Starts since I was a teenager, and the food quality has never changes.
Fathers Day out with dad was great with fantastic food!
Service was horrible…. Brought bread took thirty minutes to bring butter. Waitress touched unwrapped straw and put it in my drink. Overall poor service
Portions are very large but the price reflects that. We had a party of 8 and two of our steaks came out overdone. They seemed shocked that this was the case, they did cook us two new steaks but by that time everyone else in our party was done. They were very apologetic but no offer to take it off the bill, comp a drink or dessert or anything to make up for it. I had surf and turf for 90$, so I ate my lobster tails and 30 minutes later my steak came out.
One of the people in our party was celebrating a birthday. He ordered the fried banana cheese cake and they were out of it. Instead they brought a small cake out with candles for his birthday at no charge. That was nice and unexpected.
The wait staff is excellent, very attentive and personable.
I have a hard time accepting charging 80-100$ for steak and not being able to cook it correctly every time. For that reason I doubt we will be back.
Had a Very Good dinner.... felt Bad for our Waitress.... She was working so hard.... you could tell they were short handed.. but She was Amazing.... 1/2 way thru our Dinner they sent another Lady into our area to help her..... All in All .. An Excellent Dinner
This was my first time here. Service was not up to expectations. Menu on line was not accurate.
Nice dinner with plenty of food to take home. Definitely would go back.
My wife ordered the twin 6 oz lobsters. One lobster was perfect the other lobster was what she described as mush. Everything else was fine.
Best prime rib you will ever have !! Service was fantastic! I would highly recommend the 7 Stars to anyone who wants the best of the best!!! Right down to their coffee!!!
We have been dining at Seven Stars Inn for over 50 years including birthday partys, New Years Eve, etc with only once sending a dish back. The staff had a replacement dinner quickly, hot and seasoned perfectly.
Our dinner last night was served promptly, hot, seasoned perfectly and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The quality of food, presentation and taste were excellant.
Seven Stars Inn is a charming old building with a great bar, lots of parking, wonderful food we have enjoyed every time. Everyone really cares about the customers.
I would love to continue dining at Seven Stars, however, I can no longer eat massive amounts of food. My wife had scallops wrapped in bacon, salad, 3 huge stuffed shrimp, I had the queen filet, crab with hollandaise, baked potato, bread etc. We took 1/2 the steak, 2 stuffed shrimp home like we usually do.
We do not enjoy leftovers or eating huge portions anymore. I realize you are known for huge slabs of meat, however, I know 10 people we regularly dine in restaurants with who will not go to Seven Stars to pay for food they cannot finish.
It's time to have a senior portion as well as a lower price! 8 ounces of protein will probably fill most people over 60 and save a lot of wasted food and money.
There are many fine dining options within 30 minutes of our home, please create a smaller portion size as well at a lower price so we can continue enjoying Seven Stars Inn.
How difficult would it be to add a senior size?
Amazing food and service. Very expensive however portions are huge- come hungry. We all took home at least half our meal. 40oz prime rib ($90) & lobsters were cooked perfectly. Drinks were very good, large and reasonably priced. Excellent restaurant for a special occasion.
We had the twin stuffed lobster tails which were the biggest, melt in your mouth lobster tails I have ever had. The appetizers (crab stuffed mushrooms and bacon wrapped scallops) were also huge and excellent. Even the bread, hollandaise sauce and salads were perfect. There was no room for dessert, but I had the cappuccino creme brulee anyway (did regret it later) . Top it off with great service and very classy atmosphere, it is the perfect place for a special occasion (it was my birthday). Do come prepared to spend quite a bit, but it is worth it. We took home 2 bags of leftovers (we frankly could have split one entree). We will be back in future
