Seven Stars Inn
The Seven Stars Inn is the original Chester County steakhouse. We may be new to OpenTable, but we have been wowing our guests for over 275 years by featuring overly generous portions of the finest beef, veal and seafood served in a gracious white table cloth atmosphere. Legend has it that the Inn even served President George Washington himself in this very same historic building set in scenic Chester County.
The cocktail lounge is warm and inviting, and the well thought out wine list includes a broad spectrum of varietals and geographic origins.
Family friendly, the Seven Stars has not only a great Children’s Menu but also a Young Adult’s Menu. Both of these menus scale down the size of the serving and price of their offerings to help mom and dad afford an evening out with the whole family.
All major credit cards are welcomed.
We had the twin stuffed lobster tails which were the biggest, melt in your mouth lobster tails I have ever had. The appetizers (crab stuffed mushrooms and bacon wrapped scallops) were also huge and excellent. Even the bread, hollandaise sauce and salads were perfect. There was no room for dessert, but I had the cappuccino creme brulee anyway (did regret it later) . Top it off with great service and very classy atmosphere, it is the perfect place for a special occasion (it was my birthday). Do come prepared to spend quite a bit, but it is worth it. We took home 2 bags of leftovers (we frankly could have split one entree). We will be back in future
Food and service were great
We had a very nice dining experience at Seven Star. Food was outstanding and service was wonderful. Portions are large so even though it’s a bit pricey, you’ll go home with plenty of leftovers!
The waitress was great. The food was terrible. The prices are $$$ - $$$$ but the quality is $. I’ve never had more overcooked shrimp. The crab whatever it was was also over cooked and possibly the worst I’ve had. The steak was blan and sitting on top a piece of white bread. The au gratin potatoes were blan and very hot but undercooked. The salad was a very small portion. None of the dressings are house made. I would bet that very little is house made. Spend this kind of money elsewhere.
We have eaten at seven stars Inn on several special occasions and it always was excellent,
They used to have delicious bread, and the portions were so big that you could not finish the meal and you didn’t mind paying a premium price because of this.
But we went there for our wedding anniversary recently and we hadn’t been there in a few years, The bread wasn’t the same ,the portions on the main course for the food are about a third smaller the price was much higher, you only get one side with the meal, and the salad is small.
I had the king size fillet and previously I would not of been able to finish it this time I was and I did not believe it was worth almost $60
We had Surf & Turf, it was excellent. Cooked exactly as requested. Caesar salad was fresh and tasty. We were celebrating a birthday and we’re not rushed. Birthday girl enjoyed her toffee crunch cake. Excellent evening.
carrot cake serving was rather small for $8.
water glasses were not refilled often
silverware was removed with salad and replenished until entree was delivered 15 mins later. Not able to butter my bread without a knife.
First visit in many (15+) year, but the same as I remember. Outstanding service, very good food, overly large portions, high prices. BUT the wine selection offered many at a reasonable price.
This is our first time back in over a year. Last time we were here we were told it was going to be sold and under new management.
The interior of the establishment looks the same, tired and dated, menu is the same but wow, have the prices skyrocketed.
We were shocked. Don’t get me wrong, food was delicious and large portions are still their trademark, but if you are in the mood for prime rib your option is 34-40 ounces at $79.00...
Stuffed mushrooms are $20.00
This is truly fine dining prices in a not so fine dining atmosphere.
Fantastic food and plenty of it. It was great to be out to see people in a delightful setting. Service was excellent and relaxed.
The food is always very good. And there is always plenty of it. The broccoli was not good this time. It was hard. We have noticed that the prices have gone up the last two times we have been there. Also, you used to get two sides included with your meal and now you get one. Tasted good but we can't afford to eat there that often especially if they keep raising their prices.
Excellent food and I would definitely dine here again.
Seven Stars is one of the best kept secrets in the Pottstown area. The food and service are second to none. The portion sizes are incredible and you definitely get your money’s worth. Great place to celebrate with friends or a quiet dinner for a couple.
We call this 'Old School Fancy'. The food is fantastic, it's a bit crowded and therefore a bit loud but well worth it for the excellent food. The prices seem to keep rising but it's a great place for a special occasion.
Service and food was excellent. We were surprised to find out of the filet Friday special when we arrived. For $10 you get a whole filet mignon meal to take home if you have a filet for dinner.
Great food large portions great drinks friendly waiter reasonable prices
Good food, great service!!! Would definitely return if I am in the area.
Fabulous food - come hungry and plan on left overs! 😊
Best time as always
It was a delightful dining experience. The food was absolutely spectacular.
Where do I start? We were immediately taken to our table, which was ideally located for us in terms of nearby tables and the noise level (quiet). The waitstaff immediately appeared and introduced themselves, and they turned out to be a wonderful group: Pam, our server; Yvonne, our assistant server; and Dante, who kept us well supplied with beverages, flatware, and deadpan humor. (If you can't get the whole team for your table, at least ask for Pam as your server -- she's AMAZING.) The food is virtually matchless -- you'll want to try the bacon-wrapped scallops and stuffed mushrooms for appetizers (paired with homemade Limoncello in a sugar-rimmed martini glass) -- there is nothing "usual" about any of it. The salad ingredients were fresh, and the steak, lobster, and veal parm were all excellent, as were all the sides. And, good heavens, don't skip the dessert menu, even if you have to order it to go! The desserts are smallish, but their various tastes and textures are exquisite. Finally, the "dress code" is "smart casual," but I regret to report that most people early that Saturday evening were wearing shorts, jeans, tee shirts, and sneakers. I'd say that Seven Stars Inn is one of the few dining establishments that deserve the courtesy of your nicer, neater attire.
My husband and I went at 5:30pm for our Anniversary dinner. We were seated on the third level which was just the two of us for a little while before the next couple came. Brooke was an awesome server.
Have not been to this restaurant since slightly before the Covid issues hit. It was a pleasure to return, same great food and service. My only comment was the significant increase in prices. Our group has a variety of dishes all were excellent.
we enjoyed our visit, food was excellent and the portions were more than enough for
one person. We will definitely be returning.
We had our first date there, as well as our rehearsal dinner. It is a great restaurant. We have gone there for years! The portions are huge, so it is pricey, but can take food home for the next meal!
Portions were too big. Tables were too close together. Service was okay. But the price was so expensive for just an okay meal. I think they are trying too hard to be that 5 star restaurant.
I don’t know why the recent Yelp reviews were 1 or 2 stars. This place is unbelievable! My prime rib was cooked perfectly, and it was the size of the plate. My wife’s New York strip was also cooked to perfection and was the size of a baby’s leg. Needless to say we took some leftovers home. Overall great experience. We will be coming back again! Keep up the great work!
Dress to be comfortable. Good is always delicious.
Great food as usual. Very large pieces of meat. Bring your appetite.
Everything was great from the ambiance to the food! Will definitely be back!
Great service. Good food.
One of my favorite restaurants! Lovely as always! Thank you!
Went for Mother’s Day dinner. Restaurant was surprisingly crowded in consideration of the Pandemic. I was happy to have my vaccinations, but do not know the status of the people around me. There was only one small table in the front of the room that was reserved for social distancing and we were surrounded by two large, noisy groups.
Amazing!! Food was delicious! Service was excellent!
My son did not enjoy his steak as is was unseasoned. I was very disappointed to bite into the large lobster and it’s consistency was like mashed potatoes (over cooked)! We have been going for years now and will not be returning as this was the third bad experience in a row we encountered! Sad very sad!
Food is great and portions are very generous but prices are a bit steep
Great service and the food was amazing! Great wine selection too!
It has been some time since we were there due to Covid but everything was really good. Our server was very nice and hardworking the food was just has it we expected exceptional...If I had one issue it would be when I made reservations i asked for our favorite waitress Pat and i wasn't even told Pat was not there..Our Waitress was really good but just would have been nice to know before going there and being a little left down before we were even seated
There to celebrate a birthday with a group of friends and family. The service and friendliness of the staff and management was superior. And the food was plentiful, delicious , well seasoned , and cooked to perfection as ordered!!! We ordered Surf and turf , Veal Oscar, Combo Seafood, Lump Crab Stuffed mushrooms, Lobster Tails, Steak entrees, every vegetable, and numerous other appetizers. Our waitress Brooke was outstanding and we showed her our appreciation at the end of our gathering. Additionally we made sure to tell management of Brooke's wonderful service with our large of guest.
