About Sette Osteria

Sette is Italian for seven, the traditional "lucky" number. The restaurant design is comfortable with a traditional Italian tone, and with a great "feel and flow." Sette Osteria is a destination place for people as well as a place for people walking in the area to come in and enjoy.

Decor: Sette Osteria has an open kitchen and an action station viewable by guests. Pizzas are cooked in a wood-burning pizza oven.

The best decor in a restaurant is people. Windows give guests a view of the active passing scenes on busy Connecticut Avenue and R Streets. And, people walking by are able to view a very inviting and appealing restaurant. The decor is soft and appealing but still carries a theme of sophisticated Italian culture and international buzz. Guests can view the young people going in and out of the chic clothing stores G-star and Emporium 2050.

I am always amazed at the amazing value at Sette Osteria. It's the most reasonably priced brunch spot in Dupont Circle! The service is reliable and efficient. The food is very good -- I've been here both for weekday lunch and weekend brunch, and both were excellent. I'm hesitant to recommend it too much, only because it's such a hidden gem and love that I can always get a table there! I will continue to come to Sette for lunches and brunches with friends.

Meh. Kind of perfunctory in atmosphere, menu, food. Nothing special except it’s not stupid expensive for that location.

It was painfully loud making conversation at our table nearly impossible. The salad was soggy with dressing and appeared to have been made awhile ago...not fresh, wilted. The olive oil on the table for dipping was delicious but the bread was super doughy, as was the pizza -not crispy ..disappointing. The penne margarita was ok-pretty average. Overall we weren’t impressed.

Sette Osteria is a chain of yummy, basic Italian food. We had not been before but were pleasantly surprised. Good menu and wine list, good service, and comforting Italian food. Very vibrant location in Dupont Circle.

Food was good but the restaurant has closely packed tables and it is hard to carry on a conversation. In addition, after I had selected a wine, the waiter brought an additional lst and tried to push wines that were twice as expensive and disproportionately high compared to the food prices.

This is a go-to place that doesn’t disappoint. We shared the fried calamari and zucchini, done perfectly, tender and tasty. We each had a pasta, done al dente and sauced in the Italian way. The service was attentive. All in all, a wonderful Sunday evening.

We loved Sette Osteria, with a great special and yummy treats for afterwards. Good service, but lucky for us we were in a far table in the corner. The noise level in the main part of the restaurant was over the top. Other than that, we'll be back for sure. Excellent food.

Fabulous food, good selection of wines. Very lively, while still being able to easily have a conversation.
We were significantly delayed for our reservation and the staff were exceedingly accommodating. I plan on returning often, and highly recommend you do as well!!

Sette is a favorite with one of my friends, so when she decided to celebrate her birthday there, we were thrilled to return to this restaurant. The food has always been very good, ranging from the delicious bruschetta to the excellent pumpkin ravioli. It tastes homemade and fresh, and should remain on the menu!
Our server was excellent - very attentive, and also brought out a candle on the panna cotta dessert as requested.

Always like coming by here when we are in the neighborhood. Our server was extremely attentive. Our food arrived promptly. There are several daily specials as well as a nice pasta, pizza, and entree selection. The wine list is extensive with several affordable by the glass or by the carafe options. We will be back!

We've been to Sette Osteria before and we weren't disappointed on New Year's Eve, despite the enormous crowds (to be expected on New Year's Eve). Nevertheless, food was quite good and service was excellent. Truly a neighborhood gem.

The one place in the DC I can vouch for us as legit, authentic Italian food. I lived in Northern Italy for three years so I'm always looking for that authentic taste I miss. This is the one place I love! They know how to make a Spritz Aperol : )

I have eaten here before but found the food and service lacking this time. My salmon was undercooked and the salad dressing had little flavor. Our waitress did not come back to ask how our food was until we were almost finished.

I've been to this restaurant on three separate occasions and each time was a great experience. The fisrst and last times I was there the location of our seats left something to be desired but I enjoyed my company so it was not bad. Most seats in the place are fine there are just a few two person tables that are stuffed in odd places that either leave you stuck between a wall and passing waiters that occasionally walk into your arms as your eating. That is my only complaint. in the summertime the outdoor seating is a joy so do try it out if you get the chance. Food is delicious and all the pasta is hand made but please go in knowing that this restaurant is much more authentic than other Italian places (right down to mostly Italian servers) so you will not be receiving ungodly Americanized-olive gardenized monstrosities as dishes here. No endless bread sticks here.

Hosts were matter of fact, not welcoming. We were told to wait at the bar even though we arrived on time for a reservation. We waited thirty minutes. The hosts never apologized or gave us a wait estimate. We debated leaving at twenty minutes. At thirty minutes I went up and inquired as to the wait time. More rudeness. No apologies again. The food was fine but obviously I have no desire to go back.

Very good neighborhood restaurant hits all the marks -- good service, well-prepared dishes from a wide-ranging menu, fresh ingredients, nice wines by the glass or bottle, and seating that is not crowded.

This is a go-to for our group of friends. Delicious food (especially the homemade pasta dishes), good portions, amazing bread, and nice selection of cocktails and wines. The service is always on spot: warm, professional, accommodating. We ate outside this time which was lovely. They even give you blankets on each chair to ward off the chills. We'll definitely keep coming back!
