Decor: Sette Osteria has an open kitchen and an action station viewable by guests. Pizzas are cooked in a wood-burning pizza oven.
The best decor in a restaurant is people. Windows give guests a view of the active passing scenes on busy Connecticut Avenue and R Streets. And, people walking by are able to view a very inviting and appealing restaurant. The decor is soft and appealing but still carries a theme of sophisticated Italian culture and international buzz. Guests can view the young people going in and out of the chic clothing stores G-star and Cove
Bottomless Weekend brunch $15 (2 hour) and daily Happy Hour.

Proposal dinner with friends & family. We sat outside and the staff was accommodating for our large group. Took good care of us, no complaints at all!
We usually love it here when we come down to visit our son but was a little annoyed we reserved a table outside and they assured us there was a canopy if it was raining. When we got there only 2 tables under the canopy were not soaked from all the leaks in the canopy. We managed to move our table in a way that minimized the rain leaks but during Covid, when you are booking outside, they should fix the canopy. We saw several disappointed people leave who didn’t want to eat inside, as we would have done. The food was good as always but service was sluggish
A great outdoor destination after so many months of isolation--I hope to be meeting friends here many more times in the near future.
the food was amazing, fast, and the outdoor seating was fun to be at
Average Italian at best
Service very slow.
The food is fresh and delicious! The location is great.
Really enjoyed our food. The Ceasar salad was fresh and didn’t have too much dressing and the homemade pasta was very good.
A longtime favorite, and the first meal out after more than a year. Outside tables were perfectly spaced, along with plenty of heaters for a somewhat chilly evening. It was good to be back.
Nice and safe place!
The food was fine, but disappointing experience overall. The salads and pizza were good but the pasta dishes fell flat. Service was friendly, but very slow to collect orders. Mediocre. However, I did enjoy the outdoor seating available and it has a great location.
Short staffed. The food was ok, a bit disappointed. Our waiter was nice though and went back to ask for my food that came out separately.
Food was far less than our expectation. We had to send something back as it was not as advertised on the menu. Didn’t think of it as a great brunch spot. Price was fair however. Outdoor setting was nothing to post a picture about. This experience would not warrant another reservation here or recommendation.
Sette Osteria has excellent food, we ordered the gnocchi, margherita pizza, chicken parm sandwich, and breakfast burger which were all incredible. The gnocchi in particular is one of the best dishes at Sette and always the envy of other people at the table
Great food. Service was kind of slow, but good.
Reserved table outdoors, only to be told it would be an additional 50 minutes. Moments before, watched a group of 3 with no reservations being escorted to an outdoor table. Sat inside for 20 minutes with no wait service aside from table water. Decided to leave at that point.
I usually love this place but the night we went they were horribly understaffed with waiters doing the work of the maitre’d. It took TWO HOURS for us to finally eat our food from reservation time. If they can’t handle the influx they have no business taking on reservations.
Great food and ambiance.
Been going here for years -- consistently great food and service!
Understanding that restaurants are recovering from Covid . . Understaffed. Rude service - water basically “thrown” on the table. Long wait to order. “Scolded” for going to the bar to get beverages after waiting 10 minutes without being acknowledged. Mediocre food. Soggy Brussels sprouts and bland vodka sauce on pasta. Out of clams and mussels at 6:30 p.m. Disappointing. Happy Hour used to be great. They should stick to Happy Hour food.
They were slammed with business - the food was mediocre and the service was TERRIBLE. It took forever to get drinks and food order place. The experience just took entirely too long. The server was nice - but seemed to keep forgetting we were his table.
Excellent food, but very distracting music. It was like being at a club! Why would anyone want to listen to that while trying to have a conversation over dinner?
Awesome pizza! I also got the full branzino, which was delicious. Served with a side of roasted fennel (yum!). Their pastas are also delicious -- I have yet to have a bad pasta here. Nice place to come in the summer and have a glass of wine and some pasta on the patio. Great Happy Hour deals as well. Would recommend!
Our experience overall was average at best. The restaurant's decor is quite run down and the food was disappointing. I would not recommend.
The pumpkin ravioli was delicious. The bellini refreshing. I will be back.
It was raining hard that evening, so we were grateful that Sette Osteria had a nice big tent for us to sit under. The servers were really sweet and the food came out quite quickly. Would definitely return!
Food was great and our server was awesome.
I don’t know what all the good reviews are about. Neighborhood gem is laughable. This place was mediocre. We went for brunch and sat outdoors under a tarp on a concrete sidewalk with metal tables and chairs. Uncomfortable and ugly. Nothing like the pictures on the website. It was a bit chilly and the outdoor heaters were not on, but we noticed when we left that a couple tables had their heaters on. No one ever offered to turn ours on. My friend and I had crabcakes Benedict. She ordered hers with her eggs cooked over medium. They came out poached and she had to send them back. Mine were poached but overcooked; the yolk had almost no runniness to it. Additionally the crabcake had a lot of breadcrumbs added to it so it was a mushy mess. We ordered Bellini’s but no one offered a second round and our glasses sat empty through the entirety of our meal. Will never go here again.
Sette has been a favorite for years, but we hadn't been there since Before-Covid (BC). Friends from Texas were visiting and we wanted to have a nice dinner, outdoors, with our group of 8. Sette let us reserve two tables for 4, and told me to make an online reservation for 6 and state in the notes that we would actually be a group of 8. We ate early, and they gave us our pick of tables and lit the heaters all around our two tables. Even the Texas visitors said it was warm enough to eat on Sette's patio, despite the chilly night (40ish degrees). The food was all delicious (calamari, cheese plate, pizza and various pastas) and stayed warm to the end of our meal. By the time we were done, several other groups had been seated, but nobody was within 15 feet of our tables. The service was excellent, and Sette did a great job of making the experience almost as good as BC. We'll be back soon.
Not really sure why there were such slim pickings on brunch reservations. We got a reservation for 10:30 because it was one of the only ones available, but when we got there the place was practically empty. That being said, their bottomless deal is great. I love that it's not just mimosas.
For appetisers, we picked Potatoes croquettes which I felt could have been done better as the cheese was still solid in the middle and one of the croquette was oddly shaped and burnt.
We ordered wood fired pizza for main course which was well done, unfortunately the toppings weren’t a good blend and was a let down. The chicken parmigiana dish was very authentic with a generous layer cheese and chicken , with the side of very butter broccoli rabe greens and inedible. Overall, I would only recommend this place if you are going for wood fired pizzas and desserts and/or drinks but definitely they could work on their appetisers and sides.
Excellent service & happy hour prices as always!!!
Service was really slow. It wasn’t our waitresses fault she was the only one serving about 15-20 tables and working super fast considering. Good drinks!
Our poor waiter was the only person working the patio, which was crowded due to nice weather, but he handled the stress beautifully.
Excellent food and service. Not rushed. Nice outdoor patio.
We had great food and good wine. Service was a bit slow but I think they were pretty overwhelmed on a Tuesday night during COVID. It was the first nice day in a while and tons of people decided to go out to eat and they seemed to have very few staff since business has likely been pretty slow. Our server did great and generally kept drinks flowing. Everyone's dinner had good reviews. Would definitely go back.
Great food and drinks! The service was very good too!
The food was great and the outdoor dining was safe
Delicious Italian dishes and attentive service. Also, the propane heaters make the outdoor dining experience so much more comfortable. I’d recommend Sette Osteria to anyone looking for a tasty, laid back Italian dinner.
