The food is so unique and absolutely delicious! While some things were better than others, everything was, at the very least, very good.

Highlights:

Broccoli with peanut sauce was a huge hit! It would also be a fantastic addition to a main course.

Mushroom Tortellini was incredibly and very filling. Bold, rich flavors.

Spaghetti and meatballs had the perfect amount of spice to make it an unexpected favorite!

Mashed potatoes made me so so happy! Fabulous flavors from the garlic and cheese!!

Panna Cotta was the perfect compliment after a big meal. Sweet and tart, very light. Loved it!!

Bread pudding - holy cow!! We thought we were too full for dinner, and this is a heavier dessert than the panna cotta, but we could not get enough!

Notes:
The mushroom bruschetta is a bit of a misleading name, but it is delicious anyway. I expected bruschetta with mushrooms in it, but it completely mushroom based on toasted bread with (I think) melted swiss cheese. Awesome!! Definitely try it, but don't expect tomatoes.

Ricotta cake was very dense and not our favorite. It may have been an off night, I'm not sure. But the other desserts outshined this poor little cake.

We were all very happy with our meal and the service. Employees here could not be nicer and it was the perfect end to our day.

Thank you so much!!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our New Year’s Eve dinner Sesamo. The food was delicious, the portions were generous, and the wine pairings were really good. I would have liked to have been given a list of wines served. There was also a point after midnight where they seemed to have forgotten that we did not get dessert—and the chef actually went to the kitchen to fix the problem. Those issues were minor, and we really loved the meal and enjoyed the experience. As neighbors who live just a couple of blocks away, we’re thrilled to have Sesamo in HK!

We wanted to love this place more than we actually did. The highlight was our server - he was personable, informative and provided great service. I chose this restaurant because of their outdoor dining option. It was a pleasant space, but if you are looking for a truly safe Covid setting, it’s totally enclosed with only one window. The cocktail list was overly fussy with many unusual ingredients. None appealed so I had a glass of wine. The burrata was fine, the Misticanza salad was okay, but watery, as if the greens weren’t dried off before the dressing was added. The duck papperdelle was just okay. Ambience and service were really nice; the food, less so.

Absolutely delicious! Came here with the bf for dinner since we loved Crispin's so much! Staff was great and friendly, but we were in and out in 30 minutes because the portions were small. Absolutely DELICIOUS meal, but we went and grabbed a burger after lol.

The Bartender’s fingernails were filthy and he needed the manual to make 2 cocktails from the standard menu.

Our waitress at the table couldn’t care less about us, never came around to ask if we wanted more drinks. Took ages to get her attention to finally get another drink, as well as to ask for the check.

In terms of the food. We had 5 main dishes and each of them varied widely in terms of quantity. If you’re hungry and ordered the octopus, don’t expect the 2 minuscule pieces of meat to satisfy you whatsoever.

The hostess was friendly and accommodating, as were the busboys.

Overall, quite a disappointment.

Thank you for your review. We take your feedback seriously. We are sorry that your experience was not exceptional. It seems like you had visited us on our first week of service and we apologize for any inconvenience. Regarding the bartender's black fingers, we have a black Manhattan that uses food-grade charcoal, which would make their fingers black. We will find a workaround. We'd love to have you back after some time and try us again. Your first round will be on us. Please mention Sabrina

Overall was ok, I been there before and I remember being little more upscale, food and service was definitely better before. Something was definitely wired. I think Crispín the chef and part owner is not there anymore and you can feel the vibe and food is 💯 different.

We had a great meal to celebrate my cousin’s birthday. I loved the ambience and everyone was so friendly!!! All of the dishes were incredibly delicious - kudos to the chef and his co-captain in the kitchen whom I thanked directly and they were super appreciative of that. Our waitress seemed to abandon us mid-meal but someone else very nice took over our table. Our dessert took a long time to arrive but it was worth the wait - with the awesome fireworks candle on top accompanied by many of the staff who came over to sing Happy Birthday. I will be back for sure!!

We were looking for Italian comfort food and outside/covered dining after a long, cold day and definitely achieved our goal! Food was good quality and well presented and wine menu was solid. Good value for $$ too! Highly recommended.

Limited menu but we were a party of 4 and each of us was more than pleased with our meal. Portions are a little on the small side but the price reflects this and no body walked away hungry. Service was extremely pleasant and efficient and each request we had was handled in a very timely manner. Table for 4 was a little tight and we might have benefitted by a table or two less. There is also covered outside dining and despite the cold, there were people eating outside. Would definitely recommend

Had a very nice after theater dinner at Crispin. The spaghetti Carbonara was cheesy and full of bacon, the branzino very nicely done with good potatoes. Service was snappy and attentive.

Was there at 2pm on a Wednesday in the covered area off the sidewalk so was quiet, which made for a good business-y lunch. Service was extremely attentive (with the restaurant almost empty) and everyone loved their food (my octopus was outstanding). If I continue to stay in midtown when I visit NY, will definitely come again.

Went for the bottomless (or boozy) brunch. 2 hours of your choice of a carafe. Menu simple, ordered more of the pasta lunch offer than the eggs/breakfast. If they had something seasonal, like the gnocchi the waiter suggested, it wasn’t listed.
Reason for ratings: there was a moment where the wait staff didn’t come around at the start, but they did give space and filled the water often; the ambiance outside was nice and socially distanced enough but the table is on a lean/is tilted for outdoors, water closets clean with nice red doors; the mimosa wasn’t too cold and yet the bellini had ice and all the purée at the bottom of the carafe; no bread and oil offered, but that’s okay since it was very carb heavy order; we tried the tiramasu and it was solidly good, interested in the panna cotta; and while outside the music was a skosh loud, yet fascinating covers of contemporary hits.
It is considered a neighborhood restaurant, but I don’t know that I would go out of my way to come for brunch again unless it was conveniently available and around the corner. Though, I may give dinner a shot.

Used to love this place but on a Sunday for brunch, there was only 1 waiter working who was visibly drunk — took a full 1 hr just to take our order, spilled our drink all over the table, gave us attitude for asking for service, etc — he was eventually sent home and someone from the kitchen had to step in. After 2 hrs just to eat, we received apologies from the staff but nothing complimentary for the extreme awkwardness and delay.
