Executive Chef Avishar Barua’s creations are both balance and tribute to his Midwestern upbringing and Bangladeshi roots. His fresh interpretation of familiar flavors is the culmination of an impressive career, with roles at New York’s Mission Chinese and WD-50, and locally at 1808 American Bistro and Veritas. At Service Bar, Chef Barua and his team elegantly translate the foundations of great cuisine into inventive dishes.
Full dinner service is available at the main bar, two large community tables (referenced as *Counters), and a variety of smaller individual tables that accommodate 2-6 guests.
One of my favorite restaurants in Columbus
Everything was fantastic from the vibe to the service and top notch food! Love the secret kitchen menu on Instagram too!
The food was exceptional. We had the Brisket tacos. Amazing.
The food, drinks, and service were outstanding! Our server was very knowledgeable and able to make great recommendations. Would highly recommend
We did the distillery tour first. It was great! So informative. Dinner and service were perfect until the hostess collided with the server and spilled part of the wine and 2 drinks all the way down my husband’s back. He was soaked the whole meal. Nothing was said about a cleaning bill, taking anything off the bill like drinks, free dessert. In fact, I was SHOCKED when I was charged $.75 for club soda and $2.75 for tonic. That was a vodka soda and gin and tonic. I have never seen that done before. We have the table service chicken which was very good. Again, I was just surprised there was no mention of any compensation, free something, T-shirt, dessert, for the spillage on my husband.
Great restaurant in Columbus. I particularly liked that they coursed out all our appetizers.
Very slow. Waited over an hour for food. Ordered “puff and pimento dip” while waiting heavy and fatty. Could have served 8. The “pork and noodles” was unimpressive with noodles clumped together and only 3 small fatty pork cubes. Drinks were decent. Spent $130 for an appetizer, 2 meals and 3 drinks. Left dissatisfied
This was a birthday celebration—Service Bar did not acknowledge the occasion (which was fine), but they did honor my request for booth seating. Thanks, Service Bar! Food was great, as always. Our server, Chris, was attentive, helpful, and really pleasant.
First time at Service Bar was a fantastic experience. We were staying close for a concert and saw this place, so my girlfriend and I decided to check it out. It did not disappoint! Our server Andy was very knowledgeable, yet didn’t push a conversation with us, which was exactly what we needed. Their house Old Fashioned may be the best I’ve ever had. I had their Cheesy Brisket crunch and my girlfriend got the Brassacas (breaded cauliflower and broccoli tossed in general Tso’s sauce, see picture) and we both raved about our food. This place was a fantastic find, especially on a whim. Any time we are back in Columbus, we will definitely be back!
The food was great and the menu was unique. It’s a little tight for space.
Among the very best food and beverage to be found in the city. Courteous, competent, and attentive...but slow service.
5 stars! We will definitely be back. Chris Ledbetter is the best server we’ve ever had. He totally made our evening. Cocktails are top notch and food is incredible.
Wow. This was our first visit to Service Bar and we were very impressed! The Cheese and Poof appetizer was a fun shareable that paired well with very thoughtfully prepared cocktails. Shrimp and Grits were on-point and my partner raved about her burger (I finished her fries which were clearly hand cut and made fresh). I rarely (if ever) review a restaurant experience but Service Bar really impressed and I look forward to coming back and will be encouraging my friends to check it out.
We dine out A LOT and last night we experienced the best cocktails, best food, and best service in any one evening. Service was flawless and food was amazing and inventive. If Columbus has a restaurant worthy of a Michelin Star, it's Service Bar.
This restaurant continues to be one of our favorite places to visit.
Laid back atmosphere, with a polished look. You could tell each dish was carefully prepared. Enjoyed everything, food, drinks, and our server was a great conversationalist. Would go back again, definitely nothing like a Cameron Mitchell establishment.
We enjoyed the food and the service was amazing. We had a great time!!!!
We loved the experience!
Excellent restaurant in every respect. Was our first visit, will most definitely return.
The food was amazing as always! And our server was a lot of fun and so great!
Drinks weren’t great. Best thing was hamburger and fries. The halibut was SO SALTY I could only eat a few bites.
Great waitstaff! And food ... and drink, of course. Bone marrow is a favorite. Great burger (kinda soggy bun)! Duck was beautiful and two incredible sauces. Dumplings were top notch. The only unfortunate element is the noise level. It’s a small, somewhat cramped space.
Had a great first experience at Service Bar on Sunday with the hubby in honor of the beginning of my third trimester (even non-drinkers can enjoy this spot). The food was fantastic. Highlights were the Bread & Spread (with bone marrow) and the Short Rib (I don't think I've ever seen my husband this happy!) We also had the Lamb Dumplings and the Cheesy Brisket Crunch (I was not expecting casual tacos to be so thoroughly delicious!) We finished off with a perfectly moist chocolate cake that we decorated at our table.
My only suggestions would be for the restaurant to please consider larger table tops. Those two-toppers are just not big enough for the beautiful food and they are very tightly packed! While the noise level was appropriate for conversation, it offered adjacent tables zero privacy. Finally, because we wanted to try everything we would have happily paid more for a tasting menu - we love to have that as an option!
Really enjoyed our experience. Loved the ambiance - and the vegetarian menu was outstanding!
Excellent food and cocktails. Ironically, service was just a tad slow and forgetful. Amazing dessert—decorate-your-own chocolate cake!
It is sort of ironic that we literally had the worst service at service bar. We waited 30 minutes after being seated to ask if we had a waitress. That girl finally took our drink order and then we waited 45 minutes before we had our drinks. Our meals came out 1 at a time. Two of us were finished before our husbands meals arrived. The wait staff was extremely rude when we asked about our drinks, food, etc. The food was average but the service was horrendous. I would recommend going elsewhere.
We had reservations and were seated right away. We waited an hour to get our cocktail order! Way too long! They were slammed. WE were given water as requested, and ordered our first course. The food was really good and we could tell that everyone working there was pitching in to make the service better. Our waitress was very good, just too slow to get drinks, again, the Bar was slammed. WE learned and will go back for sure,
Food is outstanding! Love the vibe. Excellent service too
The food was brought out in a manner that made sense and was timely with great service. The brisket tacos and duck were particularly satisfying. Very good setting for date night. Only complaint being that our reservation got held up by about half an hour. Would recommend max party size of 4. Overall very satisfying experience, also enjoyed sampling some of their spirits while we waited.
Food was so different than most restaurants. Great flavors and menu items that you will not see in most restaurants.
Completely perfect food once again from Service Bar. This place just never misses.
Shrimp & Grits along with Spinach / Mushroom Pasta were wonderful. Next time we would skip the "Cheese & Poof" appetizer however, we were glad we tried it. My Vodka & Grapefruit was perfect and the Spanish wine was very good. Love the atmosphere. We sat at the bar which was nice but, a little crowded for eating. Overall very nice!
Service Bar has top notch menu items and a wonderful, genuine staff. My friend and I were impressed with the variety of fun food options (even the vegetarian menu!) and look forward to coming back again!
This was our first visit to Service Bar, and right off the bat it was nearly impossible to hear our waiter due to the ambient noise. But the food was good and we enjoyed it. However, I asked for iced tea during dinner, and they do not have iced tea. So I ordered Coke and was halfway through my burger before it arrived. We were very interested in the oil candle holder on the table and asked two different staff where they got them, and they never came back with an answer, only that we should talk to the manager, who we never spotted until we left and we saw him taking care of the outside tables.
Just amazing in every aspect. Food is among the best had in Columbus.
Food came out cold, though flavors were still excellent. The place had all of the makings of an exceptional restaurant, but execution was a bit off.
Our new favorite. Fun menu, delicious food and drinks and great service. Everything you want. There’s an option on the menu to send drinks to the kitchen staff which they well deserved and got.
Excellent everything except we had a 730 reservation and weren’t seated until 830. Comped us a couple appetizers after seated. Comping the apps and a drink while waiting would’ve been better!
First time I have been there but it sure won’t be my last. What a great place to eat.
