Serrano is a casual restaurant serving upscale American recipes. Guests can stop in for a quick lunch during the day, or bring the whole family for dinner, drinks and entertainment. Hang out at the full bar for late night, or enjoy the warmth of fireplace on those chillier days. Guests can also bring their own bottle so they can have their favorite wine with the meal.
Meals at Serrano can start with appetizers, which include spicy mussels, roasted beets, steak tartare and crispy drumsticks. Entrée selections have something for everyone, with the meatloaf, tilapia and grits, and braised short ribs satisfying those cravings for home-cooked flavor. Serrano's also offers the Guiness braised lamb shank, kobacha squash and chicken agnolotti and the Serrano burger for those who want new and interesting flavors.
The Serrano has been one of the best spots in philly for quite some time.
The staff is experienced, friendly, and always proffesional....and chef Owen makes unique menus that stand up to critical Reviews, par excellence.
What a shame they have sold the property.
I understand that most of the staff will be found at Don McCoys other property in Philadelphia "sassafras".
I encourage you to drop by and see for yourself!
I know I will!
Went to see a Citizen Cope show at the Tin Angel and had dinner reservations at Serrano beforehand. The food was great and because we booked dinner reservations we were able to get excellent seat for the show. Food was good. Our server was great! I would definitely go back.
Dinner before a show upstairs was great
LOVE Serrano! Great service, cozy ambiance. The food(salad, salmon) was delicious! Highly recommend!
Overall the experience was good. If you are seeing a show at the Tin Angel, eat here! Considering parking at the lot around the corner was $25 then the food was a bargain. Service was timely and our waiter was helpful and friendly. The food was tasty and original. If only they had a better dessert selection....
The food was delicious. The service was horrible. I didn't like they added 18% to my check because it was NYE because the service didn't warrant that high of a tip. The concert was great
Great New Year's eve experience - the ambiance, food and service were great, as was the Mary Fahl show. A bit pricy (i.e. about $300 for dinner and show for 2), but most definitely a memorable New Year's Eve!
The food and service were very poor in the restaurant Serrano's. The concert upstairs at The Tin Angel was excellent.
Sadly Serrano as a dining entity will soon pass to be replaced by a purveyor of Peruvian chicken. Serrano has always been an opening act to the opening musical act upstairs at the Tin Angel. That said, the food has always been unusual and refreshing; the service has been second to none. It will be missed
Awesome asparagus appetizer, followed by a delicisious Serrano burger, cooked perfectly. Bread pudding for desert was a great finish. Friendly server made it a great overall experience.
The food was absolutely fantastic and the staff wonderful.
What an awesome place!! My friends and I enjoy it every time we go. I have been there about half-a-dozen times. Enjoy it more and more!
Excellence enviroment and great staff. Would recommend to all
This was our second dinner at Serrano before a show. Food was excellent. We tried a couple of appetizers. Asparagus topped with crab and the cheese platter. For dinner we all had the skirt steak.... Delicious! Service was friendly.
The building is beautiful. The room is crowded but the decor is very nice. The food was delicious and the drinks were strong. Our waiter seemed too busy to pay great attention to details and our drinks got held up at the bar a couple of times. They comped one drink for the delay, though, which was a nice gesture.
Went on 12/2/16 to see Thomas John medium. I thought the food was very good. I expected the price, as of where the restaurant is located. Atmosphere was wonderful, waitress was very busy, but we were served promptly. The bartender was very attentive as well. Highly recommend!
Very limited menu.
Only 1 salad to choose from , no chicken and only
About 5 entrees . I understand most is going to a show and have limited time, but that should not
Limit food choices at the prices they charge.
They charge dining prices with a sub par menu with no specials! Will not eat there before a show again
We had reservations at 6:30, didnt get our food until 7:40. We were told our order was lost. We had a show to go to by 8:00 and had to eat our food so fast we couldn't even enjoy it. While we waited for our food the waitress never checked to see if we needed anything to drink or offer bread or salad. Very disappointed
We came to see Jeffrey Gaines, the concert was awesome. We ate at the restaurant so we could have reserved seating for the concert. The menu is very limited, our drink order was wrong, our food order was wrong and the bill came out wrong. Not sure if there are new owners but the
service was not like it used to be.
Eat at Serrano before music at Tin Angel This will get you a reserved table. Otherwise the food is unremarkable
Great meal before the show. Beautifully presented. Great service. We were well taken care of to make sure that we made the show.
there may be such a things as a good-value $18 burger and fries, but this certainly isn't where you'll find it. The Buger at Serano is better than 5 Guys but not better than Dandelion or several other spots. same with the $25 pork chop. The food isn't bad, it's above average/good if not particularly memorable, but at this price point you can do better.
dining at Serano is a way to get access to better seats for a concert at Tin Angle, just be aware that it's going to run you $44+ for you and a plus one (and that's without drinks)
The live music was great & very intimate. The dinner was good but I felt that it was overpriced. The lighting was extremely low. We would return again if there was live music that we were interested in seeing.
Our meal was enjoyable but the menu was limited. The lighting was so low we needed to use our flashlights on our phones to read the menu. The wait staff were friendly. It was more expensive than we thought it would be.
Great food, great service and wonderful show.
I've eaten at Serrano before shows many times, but the recent menu facelift is extraordinary. Don't let the familiar entree names fool you—there's a focus on fresh ingredients and expert preparation that would rival some of the town's trendiest spots.
The burger was quite tasty (if overcooked a bit...) but the service was ... not that great. Had to practically beg to get the check, and it was difficult getting water and/or another bar beverage. I believe they were short staffed that night... but daaaaamn.
It was a show night. Not very crowded. Dinner tool an hour to arrive. Difficult to catch waitress for a refill of drink. Pricey for what you get. Food is tasty, but expensive. Disappointed with the overall experience. A/C was apparently on the blitz too
Much to our disappointment we were called by Serrano just a few hours before our reservations. They had a kitchen malfunction and cancelled our reservations. There was nothing offered to us for this inconvenience. They could have at
Least invited us back with a discount. Very disappointed how they handled this emergency.
Food service excellent. Great music venue. Warm and friendly. The owner is a great guy.
