Serra by Birreria
Step into the Italian countryside at SERRA by Birreria, our new "greenhouse" pop-up on the roof. The restaurant will transport you from the cold streets of Manhattan to the rolling fields of Italy. Sit down at rustic tables in the shade, and share down-to-earth dishes made with simple but quality ingredients from our favorite farmers in Italy and the U.S. and served family-style, just like in the countryside.

We were seated quickly and everything following was also very fast—it felt like they wanted to get us out quickly to seat others. We had wine, an appetizer and dinner and it was only 45 minutes. It was beautiful but felt like they didn’t really want us to relax and enjoy but rather speed through. The waiter said he would bring bread and then didn’t until after we already had our dinners. Food was good but maybe not worth the fanfare and price of this place.
It was great thought they would do something nice since I put down that it was my wife’s birthday, but besides that it was good.
Beautiful setting, distracted waiter, tasty well presented food, small portions, good beer selection,
The food was good but overpriced. The atmosphere was decent but didn’t have the views I expected from a rooftop greenhouse. Also, about a half an hour into our meal the serving staff started dragging tables and rearranging them all around us for quite awhile. They were stacking chairs and making lots of noise. The bussers were extra quick to clear our glasses and plates too. Hey cleared my husband’s napkin and water glass before I was even done my meal. For the amount of money we paid for dinner I would expect better service.
Good food, drinks and ambiance !
We had a great time...as always. There was Trout on the menu -- I ordered it. I was served Salmon. It was delicious so it was not a big deal. When I brought it up (jokingly) to the waiter, he insisted it was Trout. Pink, thick...Salmon. It was funny.
I was very much mislead by a Time-out Magazine article about the fresh flowers on the ceiling and waiters picking the fresh herbs growing around you to place into your cocktails. Don’t get me wrong, the place was decorated nicely, but all the flowers were fake and it was just not what I was expecting. The menu also had very little to choose from, especially considering one of the only entres was sold out. I wound up getting the gnocchis which were just OK and I was still hungry after. Appetizers, side dishes and cheese plates were wildly overpriced. The whole experience was just totally overrated.
Food was exceptional, service lackluster. Servers didn't seem interested in serving us since we weren't decked out in Gucci. Had to sit and wait to get our order for over 20 mins. Totally unacceptable.
Had to wait
It is very beautiful inside and it's an experience to enjoy. I thought it was very noisy and could not effectively carry on a conversation, but it was "happy hour" and the bar was packed. Service was great. Pork is their main expertise (any and all kinds). My wife had trout and she said it was a little bland. I had the pork and it was excellent. Recommend it for the experience.
Service was not the best. We were told there were no more pitchers for our drink order and the server didn’t even go and check or say I’ll have them hold one for you for when one is ready just said no. Other tables not to long after us were getting pitchers and carafes of drinks. It was busy which I totally understand but our waiter never rarely checked on us, didn’t give us bread when we got to the table we had to ask for it and were met with an attitude. We seemed to be more of a bother to him than anything else. He was short with us throughout the entire time we were there and would check on the other tables and pass right by us. The decorations and feel of the place was wonderful but the service was a definite turnoff.
Lovely and refreshing atmosphere! Delicious lunch, would love to come back.
Great experience! Food a little pricier than the other restaurants within Eataly but worth it for the ambiance and decor. Loved it! Their Arancini is insanely good!
Gorgeous pink flowers. Love the spring decorations!
The food was incredible and the decor was so lovely. A very nice experience overall. However the service was shocking! No sense of urgency and our section was left unattended all the time. With many tables having to wave down any waiters whenever they could see one. Our drinks also came after our food? So couldn’t enjoy it all together. Such a shame as it’s a lovely place with a great vibe and really delicious food! Hope they improve the service!
Good food , nice people , great drinks . Portions are a bit on the small side , dont expect a giant heaping plate of food. It's just enough to be pleasantly content and finish with a cannoli from downstairs.
The restaurant was really cute, definitely as pretty as the pictures allude, but the service was enough to make me NEVER go back again. To preface, this was a sunday night at 8... not rush hour, and not Friday or Saturday. We were seated for 30 minutes trying to flag someone down to get our drink order, and finally got up to go find someone. The waiter finally came ( was very rude ) and took our order. Based on his timing, we thought it was best to order everything then in case we didn't see him for a while. Our appetizers came before our drinks. The food was very good, I'd highly recommend the chicken as the chef really knows how to make it well. The burrata was delicious and so was the bread appetizer! Everything else was fine. All in all, there are so many instagram worthy restaurants in this city with delicious food. I advise going to those, it's not worth the picture for the service received.
I had an amazing experience
I have already recommended and plan on frequenting myself.
Tyler, our server was amazing.
Food was amazing. The spring decor was gorgeous!
Restaurant was beautiful, but food was overpriced and very average tasting. It was nothing special and I doubt I will be returning.
The food and atmosphere? Top notch. It was, however, the worst service I’ve ever experienced in any establishment in my entire life. Also note that I dine out quite frequently. From the original phone call making the reservation, to the front desk, to the waiter, to the bus boys, etc. - all horrific. Please only come here if you’re looking for photo ops for Instagram or if you’re only attending the bar. Otherwise, just stay home.
This restaurant is a must see! It is beautiful, and so much fun! Highly recommend! I was Wow'd!
The food was monochromatic. The mushroom dish was pickled. Waited 30 min to be seated after arriving exactly on time (for my bday) they did nothing to celebrate or even mention it. The wine Recs were awful. Only the kale salad was decent.
The flowers were a lie. And the required reservations 1-2 weeks in advance for table seating gives an unrealistic demand for something that has overpriced food and underwhelming portion sizes.
The worst service I’d had ever received at a restaurant. The wait refused to acknowledge us even when we were actively trying to get his attention. He did not check on us. Didn’t offer us a desert menu. Overall i’m very disappointed with this place. I will not be returning sadly and it’s unfortunate the way the staff treats its guests.
Beautiful spring day in NYC and was a perfect lunch with my sister!
Our waitress Irma- ( apologize if I didn’t get her name) was great. Very friendly and informative on the menu choices.
Great ambience- food and drinks spectacular
Good music to
The ambiance was spectacular! I was in awe of the flowers hanging from the ceilings.
We were treated terribly by the host. Upon arriving a few minutes early for our reservation we waited at the bar and the host said he would text when the table was ready. Several parties of our exact same size (2) came without a res and continued to be seated before us. We inquired a few times as we were now 30minutes PAST our booked reservation and the host was horrible to us. I have never been treated so poorly at a restaurant and have been here many times and always had a good experience. This person makes me not want to return and not Recommend. Never once a sorry for the delay, just Looked at us like we were dirt. Really ruined the whole experience.
Food was less than mediocre with a higher end price tag. And my food was room temperature with the Waygu beef being very chewy. The best part of the meal was the panna cotta which was very good. Ambiance was cute but easily a can miss as the food needs to be good.
Sooo noisy you couldn’t carry on a conversation. The restaurant is beautiful but our bland bowl of pasta made us wish we’d eaten in one of th Eataly restaurants.
Happy birthday to me. Happy birthday to me. It’s my birthday dinner. I left hungry the portions were so small. Also the pork shoulder had more fat than meat.
What a great lunch! Restaurant is beautiful and very instagramable judging by the dub photos everyone (including us!) were taking. Service was excellent and. It rushes at all. Free breadsticks were delicious. Add a grab loaf of bread to the mix - it came with olive oil, butter and lard. Gnocchi and cheese plate, while small portions, were filling. Riceballs ans burrata so fresh and tasty. Loved the pitcher of Aperol Spritz’s. Great, fun lunch. Lovely atmosphere. Highly recommend.
So beautiful, great food, 10 out of 10 experience
I loved everything!! Beautiful place.
it was such a beautiful place and such a perfect sunny day too! our lunch and cocktail were superb. will def go back there soon.
Birthday...great service and ambiance. Food was very good
Spectacular experience! Food was terrific - I think we tried most of the appetizers. We even had a really wonderful wine recommendation from our server. I've already recommended this place to friends and intend to come back with family in a few weeks. It was everything I had hoped it would be. :)
It was beyond terrible how they treated me on my birthday. If you have a special occasion do not go there . The manager was terrible and ignored me . Glass broke under my daughters feet the minute we sat I asked to be moved they ignored me . Drink was terrible a pure tourist spot only
