Great food and great ambience! Will be back again
Food and service were excellent. Space super cool. That said, not sure I'd recommend it for groups larger than 4 people as the acoustics were very challenging (glass ceiling). Sitting across a round table for 7 people made it utterly impossible to engage with those opposite.
Again, food and service were excellent, but keep the group small and sit at a square top, you'll find it far more enjoyable!
The food tasted below average, yet over priced ..
Service very slow
My food was quit cold
Not so big proportion for the price..
But the place is very nice
It was wonderful !
Although I preferred the offerings of Baita (Eataly's rooftop winter pop-up of the past two years), this winter's incarnation as Alpina is still a wonderful place to have a nice lunch with interesting Italian regional dishes and wines.
Perfect for a romantic or a special night. However, they should have more food options for vegetarians.
The ambiance here can’t be beat. Such a cool restaurant on the 14th floor roof. It was a little chilly even though it was covered but they had heaters. The food left something to be desired. Very mediocre. I would recommend coming for drinks but not eating.
Overpriced mediocre food
The rooftop is easy to access and very coll setting. While it was loud, it didn't make it difficult to talk across the table for our party of 5. Service was excellent. Drinks were good, food was good and the atmosphere was awesome. Highly recommend.
The place was so crowded and we had a 9:30 reservation! We we're cramped and the food came within 5 minutes which made me question the freshness. It was fine but won't be going again. Was looking for a more relaxed meal. Our server was very sweet and the decor is really cute.
Amazon and wonderful food
Food was good. Wine was better. Ambiance was a bit of a let down and less creative than anticipated. Fun, but the food is better on the main floor of Eataly.
Beautiful location spoilt by very average food ( in small portions) and ineffectual staff
Not your average American restaurant serving fried food, filling your plate with potatoes. Absolutely delicious meals which you can have on your own or share with friends.
It was a really bad experience because it took me a month to get a reservation, reason why our expectations where really high and also because im a regular costumer of mostly eataly locations and i always love the food. We ordered three different plates: Gnocchi didn’t taste like nothing
Chicken with butternut squash was soggy
At the end they didn’t charge us for those plates that i really appreciate it, but i wouldn’t come back anyway is just a restaurant to take pictures of cause is beautiful, that’s it.
I mentioned it was my birthday on my reservation and when I arrived, we had a lovely special table all set up!! It was an absolute delight. The service was ok, but since we were late in the evening we felt a bit rushed. Plates were cleared before everyone was finished, etc.. things you might not expect from a nice restaurant. Other than that- beautiful ambiance, reasonable prices for how great the food was, and the perfect spot for a romantic/special occasion dinner.
I wanted to go to this restaurant so so bad and it ended up being just a huge disappointment. Its nothing like it gets displayed on social media at all... Way too small portions for that amount of money. The raclette they display on the internet looks phenomenal...well the reality was different. It was a tiny portion and the "melted" cheese was on the side??? Thats not raclette, plus the cheese was already cold... On the internet they show it like, they bring you the plate and come then with the hot cheese to ur table and put it over ur food...nope, did not happen.
The buffalo mozzarella was not really how its supposed to be, the inner part of the mozzarella is normally supposed to be really really soft.... Then the main course... the portion was sooo small and cost 35$?!?! like to actually get full I would have to eat 3 of these. PLUS I had HAIR in the 35$ food.... It took us forever to get to a server bc they were just not really around nor paying attention. And it was 2pm...there were literally 3 tables at that time, so they had not really anything to do and were still not really around. By the time we got hold of the server we didn't want this food anymore, but we did not get asked if we want It still or if we want smth else, they just brought us the same dish again...
This restaurant is fancy for taking IG pics but thats really all it is. In my opinion its way overpriced and totally NOT worth that kinda money. Like you dont have a view at all, the food is not really good, so I kept asking myself what are the high prices for??? I was really disappointed. I won't ever come back to that restaurant and I def will not recommend it.
Mucha demora para hacer el pedido
Food was blah, steak was very over cooked (the 2 person porterhouse “bistecca fiorentina” for $150), ruined then they brought us another steak, which was fine... appetizers and deserts were weak. Wine overpriced. So yeah... 2 stars.
Great food, small portions, very inattentive server - discouraged us from ordering more.
The food was delicious. Have to say that when the entree arrived it was a very small portion. The description for Serra on the Eataly website states that the food is served family style. That's not true. Family Style means entree's large enough to share with others. The pasta dish was delicious but enough for one person only. Luckily we had ordered a number of appetizers so it worked out nonetheless. I think the "all served family-style" is very mis-leading. Like I stated earlier, the food itself is delicious and divine. I was thinking about the appetizers the rest of the day and wanted to go back for more. The entree we had was very good. The ambiance/atmosphere of the restaurant itself was fabulous. We had reservations at the beginning of service and I'm glad we did as the noise level rose quite high as the day went on. Our service was ok. Our server was not as attentive as we had hoped, taking care of other tables that weren't even his before even to come check on how we were doing and if we needed anything. It took the gentleman who was busing tables to ask us if we wanted dessert and then our server came over and asked. When we were ready to get our check, that took a while for our server to come over and even find out we were ready for the check. We are definitely going to return to Serra because of the food and we hope that our service will be better next time.
Their winter wonderland set-up makes for a special ambiance to accompany delicious food and great drinks. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. Great restaurant experience for any occasion.
Food was subpar but the setting was very nice
Tier 1! Amazing. Loved it!
Food was ok but the portions were tiny! We came for raclette and the plate came with about 2 tablespoons of it. It seemed like they cut a lot of corners with the food and presentation. Service was great though. Bad value for money.
Went with my husband and teenage daughters. We loved it ! We all had the raclette and it was delicious. The pickled veggies were very good. Will go back on our next trip for sure.
good atmosphere. good foods. good service. like to visit again.
Muy buena comida y atención.
This place is amazing! Good prices for NYC and love the marketplace EATALY downstairs. I feel like we stumbled on a hidden gem. Food was foodie worthy and excellent! One of my top favorite things in NYC
I didn’t like the food, nothing to do with italian cuisine, the portions were small and expensive, the employees weren’t very friendly...
Beautiful. Food is great, with many options. If you don't drink alcohol, beverage options are very limited. No diet soft drinks, either.
Food quality was great. Food selection was very limited. If you don't eat pork don't bother coming! The menu was very confusing to read. Overall the experience was good but I won't go back here again. The price was very very very high and not worth it. The ambiance was very pretty.
There was hair in my food(nothing was done about it), and the service really wasn’t that great. We were asked if we were done so often, and that was before we even got our entrees.
The place is beautiful but from the host who was annoyed and had a terrible attitude, to the half awake waiter and bussers who brought all the food one by one (people finished eating while others were still waiting for food), service here is terrible. The food is simple and pricy (but so is the rest of Eataly), but that wasn't a problem as everything was delicious. Won't come back since the service really embarrassed me with my visiting friends.
The serving portions are very small but the cocktails are delicious. The inside is very beautiful and festive. I would only go back for the cocktails and sit at the bar.
Food was good, atmosphere was very pretty. The food/price ratio was incredibly skewed however. Tapas sized portions.
Great atmosphere. Cheese and prosciutto were outstanding as were the Brussels sprouts and meatballs.
We came for a late lunch on New Years Day, the place was as lovely as it was packed! Had a little bit of trouble finding the elevator in the churn of the downstairs market, but we found it eventually. We had the Raclette Assaggio, melted cows cheese with Potatoes, Procciutto, and Pickled Vegetables. I had the Gnocchi as a main course and my guest had the Roasted Pork Shoulder (of which I was covetous).
The overall is good but the service is slow especially during holidays when only few servants were there to serve. The decoration of the restaurant is amazing but that's just it. Food is average and it's kinda pricy. Would recommend people if they want to go to a beautiful restaurants for photo takings.
