Food was just okay. The bread and dips were cold. I just wasn’t super impressed at all
Great ambient and food is amazing. Definitely I will be back.
Service was inattentive in a very busy place. Food was very average and very expensive for what you're getting. They overcooked the last steak they had gave me something else which was just ok. It was my wife's birthday so I didn't say anything. Just paid and left. But very disappointing. Nicely decorated. But extremely loud.
Fair price, good food, fantastic service. Beautiful place to take photos
Military excited to enjoy the winter wonderland but all it was or fake poinsettias doing the ceiling it covered in lights.
Portions were very small for the price and a little bland. We were excited to have the fondue but it fell short. I have been here several times before I enjoyed it much more and will go back
HOW YOU HAVE AN ITALIAN RESTAURANT THAT DONT SERVE NO PASTA
Not the kind of food I expected. Waitress charged the wrong amount to our card and confused our bill with another table. So she reversed the transaction. And we wound up having security fraud on our account.
I had been there before and really enjoyed it. This time, I was extremely disappointed and the food was simply not good. I took my daughter there to celebrate her birthday, and was embarrassed at just how poor the food was.
Got sat within 10 minutes of our reservation. Took another 10 minutes to get water poured but then waitress came fairly quickly thereafter. Since we had sufficient time to check out menu, we were ready to order. She was hesitant and she mentioned we would be getting another server but she would ‘take the order and pass it on’. She did and then came back to alert us they didn’t have the fondue anymore. So we went with the cider sampler plates. Our food came out before the cider so I asked the bar back where were the drinks. Still same waitress. She was friendly. The carafe came out moments after. Cauliflower purée needed salt and/or seasoning, very bland. Rice balls were delicious but really tiny. We ended up ordering another serving. The olives were olives and the Brussel sprouts were delish. The cider was great spiced with bourbon. All in all, we had a nice visit. New waitress brought the bill. Hoping first waitress got the top! It’s definitely loud and crowded though! Bathrooms are one floor down as well.
Everything was great until the Entree came out. It was not described as it came out. It was a $42 pork dish that was a slab of fat thrown in the deep fryer.
This is one of my favorite spots in the city. Service is impeccable, food is always delicious, and the ambiance was perfect.
Seated 40 minutes after reservation time, no apologies. Service was slow and unapologetic. Food was very bland and monotonous. The space a absolutely beautiful, but that’s the only reason to go here
Waiter was rude and didn’t ask us for drinks or explain the menu. We also had to wait 25 minutes even though we had a reservation.
Awful service, small portions, overcooked food. Took 30 minutes for our drinks to come and the appetizers were tiny. My chicken was so dry I sent it back
I was pretty disheartened that we made a reservation and had to wait 20 minutes for a table. We were also seated in a location that was noisy and next to the waiters servicing station, not great for someone’s birthday!
Wait staff was great!!!!! Foods was delicious. The devotee looked a little tacky.
We had a great experience at a team lunch during restaurant week. The eight of us were seated at a round table which was perfect for including everyone in conversation. Overall, had a wonderful time and will be coming back in the future!
Pretty lights and nice staff, but things are fairly slow and not priced for the best experience. The food descriptions didn't always match what came to the table. Aside from the seering pressure to have our table flipped, when we were waiting for the server to return with our check, the tiramisu was without any espresso, ladyfingers, sponge... something. Just a cup of mascarpone with cocoa powder on top. Not my fave... I'd come back for rooftop drink and maybe a shared bite, but nothing more.
The atmosphere was beautiful! We went during restaurant week which was an absolute bargain. This was my 2nd time here and I'd absolutely go back.
Serra by Birreria is a beautiful rooftop transformed into an elegant restaurant. I came here to celebrate a birthday and every bite of food, from the small plates to the entree, was absolutely delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. My only qualms were that I made a reservation and we weren't seated till about 30-40 minutes later, granted it seemed to be a bit busy, but still a long wait especially after making a reservation (it was also a weekday). This wait also trickled down into the service during the meal, as our waiter seemed to have forgotten about us a few times. Overall though, I would recommend this food and the experience to just about anyone (unless you have a fear of elevators since you must take one to get to the restaurant).
Food was overpriced and not that good. The restaurant was super loud.
it was beautiful atmosphere. I will definitely visited again.
Birthday lunch! Food and service was excellent.
Great ambience but average food average service and over priced wine menu.
Disappointing for food but good for a photo
It was spectacular. The staff was incredible- accommodating and kind. We had a fantastic time and will continue to return for family occasions and special meals. It’s a total experience and the food is wonderful!
Our server was amazing! I wish I could remember her name.
I had a very great experience visually, but feel had an issue with ordering. I asked the waitress what her favorite thing was-- she said brussel sprouts which I declined because it was a side. She then suggested the pork, which I agreed to, but followed the question with "squash or risotto". I was mislead that this was a side, and ordered the squash. I ended up with 2 entrees and a side. Too embarrassed to give it back-- I paid over $90 for food I didn't really order.
In NYC with friends
It was a beautiful atmosphere but the food was only just ok.
Loved Serra by Birreria! The rooftop restaurant was beautiful, food was amazing, and service was great.
Can't wait to come back for the other seasons!
Sunny did a fantastic job serving us and really went above and beyond. We always have a great time there and this time was no different.
Good ambience. Waitress was blah.
Food and wine was good.
Pretty but not worth it. Made a reservation, but we were not seated right away. Waitress no where to be found. Food was not great (esp not worth the price.) Ambience is pretty, but overall not worth it at all. Maybe go there grab a drink at the bar, and snap your insta pic but not worth dining there at all.
Sadly, I'm giving my experience at Serra Alpina two stars mainly because the incredible noise level made our time there sheer torture.
We arrived a few minutes early for our 19:30 reservation and were finally seated at 20:10. The food was perfectly acceptable and it was well priced. Our party of 3 shared 3 appetizers, we each had a main and a glass of wine for a total of 150.00, not including gratuity.
The cheese board had 3 cheeses, generous portions of each, the olives and nuts were, well, olives and nuts, the only let down was the cauliflower- potato puree which could have used a tad more seasoning. I had the beet and goat cheese risotto and it was very good.
But the restaurant is so incredibly loud that I would never consider a return.
The food here is delicious and it’s obviously beautiful, but every time I’ve come here I’ve had to wait at least 15-20 minutes past my reservation time. This time, it was over half an hour with zero apology from the hostess and I decided I wouldn’t return. Additionally, once we did finally sit down the food took forever to come.
I was celebrating my birthday with a friend. Everything was fine. Though the menu was limiting to my friend and I as we have dietary restrictions. My biggest complaint is that our server (Arielle) charged the entire bill on my card even though my friend and I split the bill and we both received receipts for the split amount. There was no mention of my card being charged by mistake. And the restaurant was not nice or accommodating when I called this morning to handle the issue. I am still awaiting for them to call me back. What a HORRIBLE experience on my birthday. I will NEVER be going back here again.
Magical restaurant with excellent food! A definite A+
Serra had an absolutely gorgeous environment. The seasonal decor was a really great touch that left a smile on my face the entire time. The staff was incredibly kind and the food was delicious. It was noisy, though not overwhelming. A little pricey but for the environment and food it was absolutely worth it. Would highly recommend to anyone.
