This restaurant has exquisite decor and the ambiance is good, however, customer service is somewhat poor and slower than anywhere else I’ve been. The food is good but it’s best to dine here if you’re looking to have a tasty snack and cocktails with a few friends, rather than a full meal.
Unfortunately we had a terrible experience with this restaurant at the hostess desk and never made it in. My boyfriend and a group of friends were celebrating his birthday and our reservation was grossly mishandled. It was probably for the best, we decided to move our celebration to another restaurant... And Cafeteria in Chelsea was amazing. Very accommodating and made our entire party feel welcome. I was a fan of Eatly and was excited to try Serra...but I will no longer support their business.
The ambiance was beautiful, but the food was not worth the price.
Our meal was excellent - though there was a small error made with one of the entrées we ordered it was quickly fixed. Service was wonderful, it really is an awesome space. Highly recommend.
Beautiful place. The food was excellent but the portions were a little small for an Italian restaurant. Overall we enjoyed the experience and would recommend it.
So beautiful and the food was great! Get the fondue. You won’t regret it.
Great spot for a work lunch! The “for the table” meal was perfect!
The ambiance and location is worth the subpar food.
Brought an out of town friend to give them a taste of NYC. Everything was amazing
My partner works long hours and rarely takes a day off. He loves Eataly, so I convinced him to try their rooftop restaurant for his birthday. I personally called and left notes in Open Table that it was his bday, requested a table off to the side, etc. Nothing was acknowledged and even it was not busy at all - the lunch was disappointing at best. Completely different experience from previous Eataly memories.
Our food was fantastic. The cocktails was the best I’ve ever had ordering out. Service was slightly slow at first but it got better. We noticed our server flipping all his own tables so once the tables were turned over we had an amazing experience.
It took forever to receive any services, and that was after flagging down a random waiter. Food was not particularly great. The roasted vegetables in the fondue dish were undercooked and hard to eat. The cheese was too cold. Not impressed.
The food was delicious except the chicken was a little too salty. The decor and vibes were great and we would definitely come back for the ambience. We also ordered prosciutto ravioli, but we received butternut squash ravioli instead. Their mistake. So overall 4/5 stars. But it’s a great place to go with friends for cute pictures and decent food.
Everything was really good! The place looks amazing and the service was outstanding. The only critique I would give them is they need more pasta dishes since it is an Italian restaurant.
Beautiful decor in this atrium and the staff was so kind and helpful
Very good experience
Great food & location, especially with Italian food market underneath. Hoped for better views out to the Flat Iron as booked for that reason.
Very overpriced meal with mediocre (bordering on poor) food. For context, it cost $115 for two people (with two drinks).
Great with the family. Loved de decoration and the roof.
it was a delightful dinner and ambiance but with our 8 pm reservation time we were given 5 minutes by our server to put in all our food and drinks. The bar was then closed by 9 pm. Not sure why we were allowed to make a reservation at 8 if the kitchen closed so quickly.
Excited to go back
Sonny our serve was great! Very attentive and kind. The food and atmosphere was great!
Winter decor was beautiful and very festive. Food was delicious. Arrived shortly after opening and restaurant was not crowded.
We love it , beautiful place and great food and great ambience
Excellent food and service. The fonduta was amazing! My only complaint is that the prices are a bit on the high side.
But Food service take too long 😭
Some food are great, some are really bad. Seems like there are few different cheers at work. The bad one has to go, he clearly loosing his taste bug because it’s just SALTY!!!!
Beautiful dining area, great drinks, and attentive staff
Food is really mediocre super small portions of pasta consist of 6 bites, don't come hungry and bread is stabbed with a knife, shrugs, not impressed. Great servers and staff tho.
Overall, we enjoyed our experience at Serra - the area felt safe from a COVID perspective, and the rooftop setting was beautiful. We had six people in our party, and there was plenty of room to accommodate all of us, which can be difficult in NYC, so I highly recommend this restaurant for groups. That said, the quality of the food does not justify the price. If you’re looking for a great place for groups and good ambience for a special occasion, this is a very good option. But if you’re just looking for great Italian food in NYC I would look elsewhere.
It is overrated. The food preparations were not up to par. We ordered ravioli in brown butter sage sauce and the butter was not even browned. It was literally eating ravioli in pool of melted butter. We conveyed out feedback and the response was 'That's how we cook' The prep for gnocchi lacked herbs. It was a literally gnocchi in white sauce without anything else. The tiramisu was more cream, less ladyfinger.
The ambience looks nicer in videos but is so underwhelming in person. It's a closed facility and tables are so near to each other that you can hear other people's conversations.
Overall, this should be one $ restaurant but it's so overpriced which is disappointing because they are inflexible with their food prep.
The waitress was wonderful and helped us with amazing food and drink recommendations. The space was like an Italian wineries hideaway. Definitely a must go
Nice room. Great service. Overpriced menu with very average presentation. Have a drink at the bar and move on.
White truffles and non-pasta options that are out of this world. The ambience/decorations are always nice.
Enjoyed the pasta. Also enjoyed my wine. I had a good dining experience..
Mixed feelings about this restaurant.
First very hard to find, a sign on the outside of the building would be helpful. The staff were lovely and service was really quick so thank you!
Food could have been better for the price point though, nice but not worth the money. If we were to go again I would get the mezzanine board to share, this looked good and worth the money!
The decor is pretty, a great spot for if you’re out shopping and want somewhere to grab a drink.
Rooftop was beautiful and food was delicious
Fantastic service, amazing food and beautiful atmosphere make for a great meal
Excellent food and service! Highly recommend! Our waiter made recommendations!
The food is not worth the price. Theres is no much quality in the food.
