It’s very nicely decorated. Food is not mind blowing but it is good. Just way overpriced in my opinion. Also the whole “Italian restaurant without pasta or pizza” deal is a bit odd. It’s convenient if you’re in the neighborhood and are trying to get a nice dinner with friends or family.
Serra is better as a bar and appetizer spot than a restaurant with food to remember. We started with fried calamari which was good but no sauce accompanied it-okay- asked my waiter for something and he brought an aioli-okay. Roast chicken was good as was the kale salad, but the $42 pork milanese was really dry. Once again I asked for a sauce to which my waiter was almost rude in his reply. They have no sauces, no ketchup, nothing. Visually the rooftop restaurant is really nice so go for the atmosphere and order carefully.
This place is a place you go for the ambiance (winter themed so preferably at night), food isn’t great and over priced.
The ambiance was wonderful. Staff very friendly. The room was cold though and the table was on a loose floorboard so each time someone walked by it caused the table to shake and things to spill.
The attention was very good and the place was nice but the food is as expensive as little.
Overall it was a great experience. The service was fast and the servers were very nice. The wine was good and food was not bad either. The calamari was a little hard, but other food we ordered were good. The ambience is really nice. We highly recommend this place.
We made reservations a month ahead of time for their special pre fixe event and were rather disappointed with the value. We were seated by a very indifferent hostess who did not help us get into our table which was really tightly packed in next to the others around it. We waited almost 20 minutes before a server came to help us, and only after asking the same indifferent hostess if she could send over our server. They were out of all of their red wine bottles on their promotion for the festival except for one kind and didn’t let us taste it before pouring the bottle. We tried all three of the possible appetizers. The fondue was served cold which was really disappointing but the acorn squash and kale Caesar were both very good. All three of us had the steak which was approximately 2.5 ounces of meat on a spoonful of mashed vegetable (couldn’t tell if it was potato or turnip). While the steak was cooked well, we were really disappointed that this wasn’t advertised as a tasting plate because we were expecting a meal. We ordered dessert (tiramisu, Panna cotta, and profiteroles) all of which were great. Ambiance was beautiful but probably won’t be going back. Not worth the experience for the small portions and bad service.
Great food as always ... Missing the raclette though but the fondue was great along with the hot cider options ... Food always on point
Was very very cold
The decor is breathtaking and the food was delicious. I especially loved the apple cider station they had, great seasonal touch!
This is my third visit and definitely a disappointment. I love the spritzer menu. I understand that it doesn’t lend itself to a winter theme. However, it would nice to offer a few. The timing of dinner was terrible. It took easily an hour to get our entree.
Everything was absolutely beautiful.
Great customer service by all the staff. Our waiter was friendly and made sure we had a great dinner time.
Wanted Italian waitresses / servers. Very crowded. Seats very close together. Service was not very good. In Eataly - keep it Italian. Check out lady at grocery was terrible and took forever. Didn’t have plastic bags for left overs
I have been to this restaurant in both summer and winter and the decor and atmosphere is stunning. However, both times the service has been abysmal. The first time I went, my mom’s wine and my fries that we had ordered for with our meal were brought after we had finished eating and asked for our check. We then had to wait 20 minutes for the check to arrive. This
time, my husband and I waited at least 40 minutes between our starter and main course and almost the same amount of time for our check to be brought at the end of the meal after my husband had asked 3 different members of staff. No acknowledgement was made. The decor is beautiful and the food is good, but not good enough to outweigh the terrible service.
Great decor and cute place to visit overall. This is a place for pictures not for food. Portions are small and not all that great. Overpriced tourist trap in my opinion and I wouldn’t go back.
Service was a bit slow..but whata the rush anyway?! Overall it was such a lovely experience!!! We truly enjoyed our brunch with friends ♥️
The service was really bad. We sat there for 40 mins waiting to order and the food took over 1 hour to be served and it was cold. The waitress had an attitude. Never going back here again.
The food was sparse and didn't have much flavor
Food , ambience was ok, nothing special about it , I ask a meal for two and I think it was to small to share , bathroom was not available and I was told to wait for 10 minutes..food is not worth the price..
Amazing atomosphere , winter wonderland and great food !
Doesn’t live up to the Instagram hype. The hostesses seemed very pretentious and grouchy. The bathrooms were filthy! Despite empty tables and having a reservation we were seated right next to another couple. Certain tables are squished too close together. The food was overpriced and it was hard to find anything that was appealing. They served stale bread.
Everything was beautiful the food was delicious but over priced for such small portions the service was great she was very attentive and nice overall it was a great experience.
A rooftop experience to mirror the Alps. The hot spiced apple cider was a delight. The cuisine was splendid. A great time was had by all.
Beautiful atmosphere, amazing food.
Overrated Location. Looks on Instagram better than in Reality.
Delicious food. Service was wonderful.
All in all was a great meal. Wasn’t a fan of the service, our server seemed to be under the assumption since we were young we weren’t important. The bus staff was very helpful to us though.
You’re paying for the ambiance. The food I got was not great and wouldn’t recommend. The bottle of wine the waitress recommended was outstanding. The decor was jaw dropping. So that made it worth it. I just wish I would have enjoyed the food more or tried something else. I got the restaurant fest special - the fondue and then the squash. SO MUCH SQUASH. Perhaps food off the normal menu would have been better. All that said would I reco you go? Yes but purely for the wine and atmosphere.
I arrived with my stroller and they were so accommodating. They had me use the handicap elevator pit to go up the three stairs. The calamari was incredible. The service was fast and the ambiance was magical. I am a New Yorker and loved it.
Beautiful ambiance, great wine bottle prices and our server went above and beyond to make my friends birthday dinner really special!
Food selection limited
Felt very cafeteria ish
Better for sharing a cocktail and the view
They were out of almost everything we wanted to order. The food was really expensive for the bland flavor it offered. At least the views and decor were pretty!
I'd say the Spring season was by far the best menu and ingrediant selection by Serra.
Nonetheless the wine, fish and desserts were yummy! While the monkfish was delicious (we cleaned the plate!), the pumpkin main entree was too sweet and did not have the right balance for a savoury main course.
In general the team could cut back on the over enthusiasm for pumpkin dishes just cause its fall/winter.
Will be back for the next rd in 2020!
I think the restaurant fest menu was great! The atmosphere is always stunning and the seasonal menu is very inventive.
Loved the holiday decorations! Food was good but not amazing. You basically pay for the ambience.
Beautiful location, amazing food, 100% recommend.
MIL’s first time in NYC
The Service was amazing, and so was the ambience. You guys get a 10 star!!
The service was friendly and efficient and the everything we ordered was amazing! The mozzarella was even better than what I had in Italy. One point of improvement though, the latte macchiato I ordered was pretty poorly made. The first one I had to send back because it was burnt to the point of being undeniable. The second one was better but it still didn’t have the smoothness Italian espresso drinks have. Expected better from such an amazing Italian restaurant!
