Serpentine is one of my favorite restaurants for brunch, lunch, and dinner. Service is always great, and food is always fresh, inventive and delicious.
The food was delicious and the service was friendly.
Delicious Southern-tinged cuisine and a cool Dogpatch warehouse vibe. Consistent, friendly service and excellent cocktails. Always a place that impresses our out-of-town visitors. Every once in awhile there's an "oops" with a major main dish—overcooked ribeye or pork chop has occured now and then—but this is rare and usually dealt with quickly and professionally.
Serpentine is my go-to-I-know-it-will-please-everyone standby. No different this time as the food was excellent, but the noise level. . . .ooofff. . . . even louder somehow??
Waiters took too long to wait tables. Food came out 45mins after order! HORRIBLE! Food was just so so all the good foods featured on yelp were all “seasonal” just stick to a good menu instead of changing it up all the time.
We’ve slowly grown accustom to the escalating prices in San Francisco. Serpentine has always served a delicious burger and the four of us walked in knowing we all wanted one. We were met with a $20 burger, which is expensive, but did not prevent us from ordering. 4 burgers cooked to chefs spec, 2 with no onions, and one of those with a salad instead of fries. Easy.
4 burgers arrived at our table, all with fries, delivered by a runner who didn’’t wait to see if all was ok. It took a minute to flag someone down to mention the salad. Later our server returned with a salad (topped with onions for the person who asked them to be avoided on the burger) and some additional braised greens which we didn’t even mention.
It’s tough to not sound like I am whining. But it was not a busy night. The bar was almost empty. I’ve been eating at serpentine since they opened. Attention to detail is valued and when it is absent it is noticed.
I like this place but the service is hit or miss. We ordered a lemonade and had to ask three times. Feels like people drop the ball over there and for the price the service needs to be better.
We ordered the Scallop dish, three scallops for 32 dollars. Not worth it !!
Yes . been 2 times now food great sensitive brisk service. killer brisket sandwich with egg on top
good drinks.. not too many . prices good value and nice industrial loft feel.
The drinks were great, food was just ok, something a bit off about both dishes we got. Ham was insanely salty, hollandaise sauce had an odd smoky flavor, and shrimp and grits a bit bland, had to add salt, pepper and hot sauce. Loved our waiter and the ambience was good too.
So mixed, but for the price point probably wouldn’t go back sadly.
good food and drink! its very noisy, though.
Food was very slow. One hour from order to serve. We were a table if 4. 3 were served but #4 needed to wait another 15 minutes so most were done by the time the 4th meal arrived. All entrees arrived cold. Expected better-we used to love Serpentine so we were sad.
Cool environment in dogpatch. Excellent food with cordial waitstaff.
We had the biscuits and ham appetizer which was great! Unfortunately that was the only highlight. Both of our entrees (halibut and chicken) lacked flavor and were very bland. We also waited nearly an hour for our food, even though we ordered promptly after being seated. I wouldn’t recommend going for the price. We paid $160 for 2 people.
Love this place for dinner. Excellent cocktails and meals. I would not recommend brunch. The breads were dry, and the combination of food looked delicious on the menu but did not translate well as a meal. The service was superb and the chef was accommodating with our concerns, s it made up for the unsatisfying meals.
The food is outstanding, the staff is lovely, but the noise is way too loud!!!
Consistently good food and away from the hustle of the city.
The food and cocktails were amazing! Raw oysters and the ham and biscuit appetizer were delicious. The decor is very cool yet still casual and comfortable even with a toddler. The service was fantastic, everyone was so kind and warm and friendly. Took my husband for his bday and we had the best experience. Would highly recommend!!
Great menu and excellent execution. All locally sourced.
Located and booked via GoogleMap view. Arrived early and pleasantly surprised with service and wonderful food. Will definitely recommend and revisit.
Prompt and kind service, fun atmosphere, delicious food! Great for both casual and more formal occasions. Highly recommend!
I really do enjoy going to brunch at Serpentine. The food is always delicious. Their hushpuppies are great, and the service is friendly and attentive. This week the menu wasn't quite as interesting as other weeks, but some of the standards were there. It is a great go-to if you can get a reservation!
Really terrific service made my birthday brunch fantastic. The food was a close second. The table shared the bomboloni which is similar to a beignet with an amazing vanilla custard. We also shared the hush puppies, which were good but not great. I wish I’d asked for the gravy on the side as I’m not a big fan. We also shared a couple of the biscuit chicken sliders. I loved the thinner slightly crispy biscuit and the chicken had a maple glaze that was really delicious. For my main I had the celebration French toast which was also good. There’s a lot there though, so you can definitely share. My friends enjoyed the brisket, not a scrap left over, and the frittata too. Overall a great experience and prices were similar to other restaurants of this type in SF.
It was a great experience. However, with such a high price, the portions were very small even for small eater like us.
Arugula salad with stove fruit was delicious as were the delicate Parker rolls. The burger is always good although the fries are no longer the skinny fries which is too bad.
This is my second visit to Serpentine and it was even better than the first. The restaurant is currently featuring Southern-inspired dishes and they were exceptional. The fried green tomato appetizer with crab was devoured by our table, as were the mussels and pickled veggies. The cornmeal encrusted halibut was superb. Other notable entrees included the steak and chicken. This place should get more attention than it does.
The food was amazing. I enjoyed the experience.
Cool vibe and beautiful drinks. Loved the purple cauliflower in the bloody mary! The staff was efficient and friendly. I didn't love my frittata. Heavy on potato and light on the egg. The menu was mainly savory. Could have used some jam or something sweet with the delicious bread.
Great service at the bar!
Delicious Steak and Halibut.
Always enjoy Serpentine, friendly obliging staff with great food.
Nice time. The food was great as always.
The burger and fried chicken sandwich were both excellent. Loved the pink panther cocktail-delicious and beautiful. We were very well accommodated with our 2 strollers and 4 adults- worked out great to add the note in the reservation.
Our waiter was efficient & super friendly and kind but didnt hover. He was excellent. The noise level was very high though, really hard to hear my companion
Serpentne is a one time visit for me. Food was just okay. I like Prospect much better. Service was awesome. I don't think value was there.
The food and drink selection was small but tasty. Really loud ambiance but my friends and I were still able to catch up over dinner and drinks.
The dessert was amazing! Salted caramel panned cotta!
Fantastic place and incredible bartenders! The food is top notch - loved every bite.
Prior experiences were excellent- most recent dinner was very mediocre and the service was as well . Not sure if I’ll return.
Delicious, fresh and great options to choose from.
I went breakfast and ordered the Egg Benedict. The eggs were cooked well but the sausage patty was dried. The portion is very small.
