Serpas Ratings and Reviews
5 of us came out to an early dinner after a matinee show at Dads Garage. For starters, we had the calamari, crab fritters, and pig in a blanket, and all were great. The calamari was the biggest hit.
For entrees, we had the gumbo, scallops, ribeye, and short ribs. The gumbo was hearty and flavorful, and definitely sufficient as a main dish. The scallops were tender and expertly prepared, and the pairing with the lady peas and vegetables was just right. The steak was prepared to a perfect medium rare. The short ribs were by far the favorite - we all had a taste of each other’s entrees and the short ribs were the winner - tender, smoky, and juicy.
We had excellent service from Lucas, who was new to the restaurant (we were his first table!). He was very attentive and accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed. The noise level was low enough that we could have a conversation, even with 3 of our party who are hearing impaired.
We highly recommend Serpas for a nice night out. We will certainly be back - maybe for brunch next time.
Loved this place. The house smoked salmon appetizer was out of this world, as was the octopus. Be warned, the appetizers are big enough for sharing. The entrees were delicious and our server was very attentive and fun. I would definitely recommend this as a great place for dinner.
We invited our friend for dinner, it was her birthday. We had a nice dinner: great smoked salmon chips, lovely lobster appetizer, duck and red snapper entrees. They have an interesting wine list, we found great red wine options. The place is lovely, large space and modern exterior. Service was great. we had a good time and consider coming back.
We chose this place as it had reservations available for 4 for a Saturday. Inside was loud and the restaurant ran out of wine glasses, so we got the wine intended to pair with our meal towards the end of dinner. Food was delicious, but I’m not sure I would rate it above other similar locations.
From the time we walked in it was warm and genuine... The hostess greeted us and a server assistant was magnificent at the front counter. Tim our server was very attentive and hospitable. THE food was AMAZING!!!! It was well worth the wait... I can't wait to bring my family so they can experience greatness...
It was good overall, but cold in the building, we moved seats. Biscuits were a bit overcooked in skillet, and grits had great flavor, just entirely too soupy!:( I also ordered the vegetable omelette without the egg and it was delicious. Snazzy mushrooms and asparagus! Great customer service
This was our second visit to Serpas. It was great the first time, so we invited friends to join us for the recent visit. Again it was very nice. No complaints. We were greeted by a friendly hostess and service was provided by a great waitress. The food was great. On a scale of 1-10, I give it a 15. We will return.
I brought some business associates there for dinner on a Tuesday night. The place was dead. That in itself says something. It wasn't difficult to provide good service but our waiter wasn't very enthusiastic or engaged. He could have made things a lot more fun. The food was good but not more than that. The restaurant is solid but less than spectacular.
Not quite sure why more folks aren’t in their seats. The food is exceptional so my guess is the ambiance and location are odd enough to detract from the interesting menu. Modern Louisiana fare comes with a certain amount of spice so if nightshades aren’t your thing... they were nearly empty on a Tuesday night making it perfect for a business meeting. The cocktails were expertly created. My scallops perfectly cooked and filling. I mean when does that ever happen? Maybe the weekend pulls a bigger crowd as it should. Food just too good to ignore.
We are locals but rarely hit Serpas for brunch -- this past week we did and we were thrilled! While the menu options are sparse (compared to our usual Sunday brunch spot), the food was excellent, service excellent and the drink menu entertaining. Great spot. Now in the rotation for our Sunday brunch jaunts.
I (black tee-shirt) celebrated my 45th birthday at Serpas for a Sunday brunch for the very first time. Wow! I was amazed at how quickly we were seated (open-table reservations), valet accessible, the food was amazing and the ambiance was just the right setting for any environment. I highly recommend this location for any celebration. I was so impressed...I chose Serpas as the spot to celebrate my husband's birthday. It is not inexpensive but priced just right for the amazing food. The server could have been slightly more pleasant, but maybe it was just that particular server. He wasn't impolite or anything...just not as pleasant as I would have liked.
One of our favorite restaurants in Atlanta. Excellent food and excellent service. The snapper with shrimp special was outstanding and the roast chicken was perfectly prepared. Waiter was happy to sub sides which made dinner even better. Brioche rolls were hot, buttery and just the right parmesan sprinkle. Pigs in blanket are the perfect appetizer. Nothing not to like in this Old Fourth Ward great spot in old cotton warehouse.
I booked a late (2:30pm) reservation for Sunday Brunch, but I will not do that again! As soon as we were seated the server indicated that our order needed to be placed right away and that they stop taking orders by 2:30pm! We placed the order closer to 2:45pm, but our server seemed rushed and was not very pleasant. I love the food at Serpas, but I will consider other establishments if I am in need of a late Sunday brunch.
Love this restaurant!!! As a former New Orleanian I appreciate the menu and have always enjoyed a fine meal!! From Salmon Chips to Beignets they present a wide array of delicious foods!! Usually it gets pretty loud as the evening progresses but with a 7pm Friday night reservation we enjoyed a suitable noise level for our friendly catch-up dinner!!
There was a mix up about my reservation. I made a reservation for 2 only to find that friends (Marks)we were meetingthere had included us in their reservation for 4. I mentioned it at check in; however, I was still notified of a failure to cancel. We dined there with the Marks and enjoyed our meal. It is usually the case it was crowded and noisy. We had a terrific server and our food was promptly served. The women’s restroom needs attention. There wasa rolling cart w/toilet paper, etc in the largest stall. It’s unsightly and a stall should not be used as a storage area. Ladies struggled trying to figure out how to turn on the faucet to wash hands. A sign with instructions would help.
