Tuna tartar was terrific, as were crab fritters. Entree of the gumbo was brought out immediately after appetizers , and was not hot. Timing between server and kitchen could have been better. Front of the house staff were distant.

Found a hair in my food which was not mine so very disgusting. Martini was warm and made wrong. Would not recommend and will not go again.

While the food was great, it did not save the absolutely terrible service. The server was rude and impatient, we actually felt like we had done something to offend her. I will not be returning to Serpas.

My husband and I went for Valentines Day. The food was extraordinary. My husband had the snapper and I had the stuffed trout and the fried apple pie for dessert.

I had a 2:30 reservation for brunch and arrived at 2:30. I was seated promptly and my waiter immediately came to take our drink order. We asked for a moment to look over the cocktail menu . When the waiter returned, we gave him our drink order and an appetizer order. Since my dining companion still seemed to be mulling over the entree choices, I asked if the waiter could go ahead and turn in the drink order and appetizer order and then come back for the rest. He then informed us that the kitchen was "closing in 8 minutes". I looked at my watch and the time was 2: 38. This told me two things: 1) he left us for about 7 minutes between the first visit to take our drink order and the second, and; 2) he decided that instead of the 3:00 posted close time of the restaurant, he had decided to close the kitchen at 2:46...odd time to close a kitchen. We placed our orders. Appetizer arrived before our cocktails and, of course the entree came out just about a minute after that. At 3:05 the waiter put the check on our table. No offer of anything after our entree, but, then again, I guess the whole enterprise was shut down at that point. As for the food, I ordered the Eggs Benedict with short ribs. The short ribs were good. One of my poached eggs was overcooked so I had no runny yolk. Runny yolk to me is rule 1 of Eggs Benedict.
