The ritual of coming together sharing wine and food with family and friends is the central motif in our lives. Italian food has an immediacy, honesty, and warmth; it possesses the spirit of a grandmother's wisdom and love. Italian food isn't about trailblazing alchemy or edible high fashion; Italian food is about staying connected—to each other, to the past, to the earth.
This place never disappoints. At our table of six every dish was consistently good. It was almost impossible to decide what to order as each dish is so unique. Can't wait to go back.
Best date night in a long time. Thank you!
Best place in Seattle - service, drinks, wine selection, and food prep.
So delicious! Hubby had the swordfish special and LOVED it! Also shared the Arancini which are wonderful. I had melanzane and took half home which I had for breakfast the next day and loved it both times.
We tried the peanut butter mousse dessert which was terrific.
Treat yourself and take your friends. The vibe is awesome and bar is always hopping as well.
Jonah was our server and he’s always spot on with his friendliness and great service!
Worth it - beautiful ambiance & high class fare
Usually we have had wonderful service at Serafina, however this time not so much. We checked in with the hostess for our 6:15 pm reservation and she said it would be just a few minutes. We stepped aside so as to not be in the way. 20 minutes went by and meanwhile other people were seated right away. It wasn’t until I went back up to check in with a different hostess we were seated right away. The first hostess completely forgot about us.
My daughter and I had a beautiful dinner. The service was friendly and attentive, yet we had privacy for a nice conversation. We had three courses - soup, entree and dessert - along with a lovely tuscan wine recommended by our server. I've enjoyed Serafina each time I've eaten there.
My husband and I came for restaurant week. The place is very noisy as the sound bounces off the mostly bare red walls. The restaurant did not have a romantic ambiance. The service was very good but it felt very in-and out for us. We got our food quickly ate and left. It was not an experience I generally seek when I go out to eat. My husband ate seared tuna which was excellent. I had tagliatelle pasta and I thought it lacked in flavor. The dessert was very sub par. That was the most disappointing part. Everyone we spoke with was professional and lovely but I did not enjoy myself enough to go back especially with the plethora of restaurants in Seattle. If you’re looking to have a drink with an appetizer at the bar, this would be the only occasion I would return. The bar is tiny but it has a lot of character.
Went during restaurant week with another couple. The food and service were outstanding, but the noise level was so high that we couldn't hear each other's voice.
My husband and I had an awesome evening at Serafina. Food was divine, wine list was great and it's the best service I've had a restaurant in a long time. We went in for Seattle Restaurant week but ended up ordering off of the main menu because it all looked so good. Highly recommend for a really great meal or special occasion. We plan to go back often!
The food and service at Serafina were excellent, for more about the food please read below. I have however downgraded the ambiance because the restaurant was so noisy. Unfortunately OpenTable does not have a category appropriate for excessive noise. Energetic is an attempt to put a positive spin on restaurants that are so noisy conversation is difficult. The restaurant was almost completely full including the bar and though I was at a two person table i had to lean forward and cup my ear to enable me to hear my dinner mate. This level of noise seems to be a fairly common occurrence at Seattle restaurants. The lack of carpeting, drapes, or ceiling treatments exacerbates the problem.
The food was excellent, I ordered Serafina's special chicken dish on mashed potatoes, we also got the Brussels sprouts and the soup of the day, which my wife really liked. it has some apples pureed in to the soup base to add a nice fall nuance. she also ordered the Melanzane, which was similar to eggplant Parmesan, though the dish was intensely tomatoey, so don't order if you don't like an intense tomato experience, the sauce was very good. We also had the Tuna tartar which was also excellent. Recommended. I will return but will try to choose a time with the restaurant and bar are not so busy.
fabulous neighborhood cozy restaurant with amazing food and ambiance.
Consistently great food and service. Been here many times and will return again.
We booked an 8:00 reservation for restaurant week but we had heard such great things about the place we decided to do the full menu. It took 15 minutes for the server to greet us. It was busy so we understood since we work in the restaurant industry. However our apps and drinks trickled out very slowly and after apps, we struggled to find our server to place our main course choices. He arrived later after we both had been waiting another 15 minutes since our plates were cleared and drinks finished. At this point we had been in the restaurant for an hour. He asked if we wanted to see a dessert menu, assuming we were just done. We asked for the check and left. We felt ignored and as though because we are two younger individuals (mid-20s) we were assumed to not be ordering much that night. The food we did eat was great but the service kind of ruined it.
This was our first time at Serafina. After finally dining there, we're happy to say we'd enjoy returning regularly, on the nights where we don't feel like doing our thing at home... a nice backup to a home cooked meals, right around the corner.
Enjoyed our lunch during restaurant week! Goid value, tasty variety and a sweet, kind server!
High quality fresh ingredients and delicately presented dishes, perfectly balanced mix of flavors. Totally worth it.
Wonderful food and experience all around. Every bite was exceptional!
I've enjoyed dining at Serafina many occasions over the last 25 years or so; also a very good time.
Food and service always great and I am a 'foodie'!
Well we always love it and stumbled in during the seattle weekly dine out weeks and had the specials and they were all delicious. What’s great about Serafina is they never give smaller portions or off the menu items so you’ll get their delicious items designed for the dine out weeks.
Just go. You’ll love it.
Only trouble was that the portions were somewhat small
Amazing food! Dinner was very loud. Would go back again.
Always amazing food and service and the squash soup was superb! We also had the spaghetti and meatballs and the tajarin which is a new item and delicious as they add kale and mushrooms to it. Make sure you get the bread as the Seawolf sourdough is the best in Seattle!
Grace and Beth were terrific servers as well! We e gone for years but actually met the chef this time and he’s super nice and we told him how wonderful the soup and tajarin are as well.
Save room for dessert because their pastry chef makes amazing desserts as well.
Make a reservation as they’re popular!
The service and food were outstanding. I took my wife out for our anniversary and Serafina is the perfect place for a romantic dinner.
We always have the best time and food at Serafina and this last dinner was no exception. The wait staff is so friendly and engaging; they made the whole experience that much better. Looking forward to our next outing to Serafina already!
My meal was delicious, but the portion was very small. It was also very warm and loud in the restaurant. I'd return, but I'd order something else.
Great food and service. A gem of a restaurant in Eastlake!
Really recommend this restaurant. Very good Italian food. Also, best mussels dish in Seattle (no comparison).
Only one thing ... I found it odd for open table to ask if we were celebrating an occasion (yes, birthday), then at the end of dinner, for the server to also ask, and ask who's birthday ... then leave it at that. Not a greeting, not a small dessert, nothing. We were not expecting anything, except by asking those questions, they sort of made us expect something.
It was so loud it negatively impacted everything else . Five in our party, conversation was barely possible with dinner partners except for those seated immediately next to me. Couldn't wait to exit so left before desert, even though we were celebrating two birthdays. If we ever come again it will be at opening time or when we can sit outside. Food was served hot and for the entire party at the same time - excellent. Meatballs were excellent, risotto OK, lasagna disappointing. Sorry for the negativity it's not in my nature but ---
I enjoyed a lovely meal at Serafina with a friend. The service is impeccable and the food was delicious. One caveat is that some ingredients like the garbanzo beans seem to come in every dish - including the appetizers - which makes it a tad tiring e.g. Octopus and garbanzo beans... Halibut cheeks and garbanzo beans..
Parking is not great, so I also recommend taking an Uber/Lyft/Taxi.
Always a favorite - casual lunch, dinner or special occasion
Fine Italian dining at its best.
We were seated right away, and our server was very attentive. The food is very good, and we enjoyed it. While this can be a romantic place, the noise level can be high. I wasn't to keen on getting charged for a few pieces of bread to finish off our appetizer - $3 for 5 thin, small slices of bread! Otherwise we had a good experience.
Prix fixe menu for lunch is superb. Great for vegetarians. Tad oily- but overall great value as well. Pasta was to die for.
Always consistent and delicious. The ambiance of this small neighborhood restaurant is wonderful and the food delicious. We had 2 pastas, salads and mussels and all were great.
Enjoyed the mussel appetizer and salads. Half serving of pasta with duck confit was disappointing -- never seen duck confit like this before. The eggplant entree -- too much sauce smothered/overwhelmed the eggplant and too little pasta to go with it.
This was third eating experience at Serafina and each time it was a soluely delicious. If you are lucky to go during a warmer day, sitting in the rear patio feels very European.
Great food and service in a relaxed environment. Everyone in our party loved the food, my tortellini dish was the best tortellini I've ever had. It was quite busy when we went on a Monday night, but the service didn't miss a beat.
It was a little more expensive than our usual fare, our dinner for three with two light appetizers, three pastas, and only one of us having a glass of wine came to about $150. The furniture is showing wear, the upholstery on our seats were peeling -- though that didn't bother us, I mention it as it might matter to some. It's a relaxed and charming spot with terrific food.
Cute and cozy little Italian restaurant. Very simple but tasty dishes. Highly recommended!!
First visit to Serafina. We really enjoyed the food and service. Will return again.
