I've been to several of the Serafina locations and I always have a great time. Serafina Ludlow did not disappoint. It's consistently great.
Great experience. Love the ambiance and the food. Well priced as well I believe I will be returning
Great experience. Food was AMAZING and do fresh. The waitress was lovely. We had such a good night, we returned for brunch the next day and had the exact same great experience.
I had four friends staying in the City overnight before heading out on a cruise and needed to select a restaurant close to their hotel. Having eaten at other Serafina locations in the past and having enjoyed them, I selected the Serafina Ludlow. To be fair, I believe my negative impression was most likely the result of poor service. Our waiter was totally aloof; she didn't listen, and acted as if she could care less if we were there. We had to repeat most things; food came our wrong; and towards the end of the dinner, when she was at the table, she looked me right in the face as I asked for something. She continued to stare blankly, so I asked again, louder, then she responded. Every other person who approached our table was very professional and pleasant. As for my food, I ordered the caprese salad. The tomatoes were tasteless. For my entree, I ordered penne alla vodka. It was lukewarm at best and the sauce was gelatinous. It was similar to when I bring home leftovers and have only partially heated them. My friends generally thought the food was very average. The only saving grace is that, as far as Manhattan restaurants go, it was moderately priced.
Very good food. Excellent service! Glad we tried this place!
The service was amazing! Our waiter was very attentive and extremely nice. I ordered the filet mignon burger (without the bun) and the chef sent it out beautifully plated with a delicious mixed green salad. OMG the burger... It was amazing! The pizza was fantastic too!! Definitely going back! The food alone makes it worth it. Delicious!
The food was great, staff was very professional and accommodating for our party of 9! Bruschetta was so fresh and delish, highly recommend💙
Saturdays brunch for 3 before going to the Tenement Museum. Typical brunch menu for a nice brunch place. Eggs Benedict was delicious
Good omelets, with anything you wanted in them. Service was efficient and pleasant. Definitely recommend. And.easier to get a reservation than at some other places in the area.
perfect summer night meal. The avocado brussel sprout salad was definitely worth it. We share a gnocchi dish which was delicious.
We absolutely love Serafina. The Cacio e Pepe is incredible.
Very good fare and drink. Great salad and pizza.
Upon arriving for a 7p reservation on July 4th, I was met by a very rude staffer. They had all of the doors open and it was almost 100 degrees out, so perhaps he was just hot. Had I known there would be no a/c I would have booked elsewhere. That detail should be included on their OpenTable listing in the summer. He wanted to seat us on the hotter side of the restaurant and when I asked for one of the open tables closer to a breeze he said it was reserved and was again rude. I insisted and he caved, but never provided menus or water. The two people that waited on us ended up (mostly) saving the evening. They gave us a free round of drinks as an apology.
Use common sense in 100F weather and close the doors and crank up the a/c. Serafina is a mainstay in NYC, and I expect better.
This was our first visit to one of the Serafina restaurants. It was a pleasant experience, we thoroughly enjoyed it. The pizza was delicious, the plates were just the right size, and house wine was very good.
Food was great and so was service! Also they had really good happy hour deals!
Food was very good. Service was faster than expected. I would come here again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Serafina Ludlow! We were in NYC to see a play that was nearby and had a wonderful dinner! The bartender made me the best cosmopolitan that I have ever had. The service was timely and the food was amazing. I had the spinach and ricotta homemade ravioli and my husband had the salmon. Highly recommend and we will be back the next time we go into the city!
Great food, and good atmosphere. As others have mentioned, the service was less than attentive (we had to try multiple times to get our server's attention when we wanted the check) but overall would say that it was a good experience! Just ensure that you have enough time to make up for slow service when you dine here.
Arrived one hour early for our reservation, they accommodated within five minutes. Our 30th Wedding Anniversary, meal was tremendous we weren't rushed, service was excellent. Couldn't ask for a better evening!
The service was absolutely terrible! The waitress was non-existent the entire evening. We waited nearly 30 minutes to order drinks/food, then they delivered the pizza at the table 20+ minutes after people we were all served and then we waited nearly 20 minutes for the bill to come. Really disappointing experience, given it was the first time for many and a birthday as well. I have been to some of the other locations but I would be reluctant to try this place again unless there was a serious upgrade to the service.
The service was literally terrible. We finished our food and 30 minutes went by before anyone even cleared the plates. My boyfriend and I wanted to see the dessert menu and when I finally flagged down our waitress after 30 minutes of ignoring us her reply was “are you good?” Definitely won’t be going back.
Food was good. The layout of the tables and the service both have an oddly over-anxious, money-making feel.
Met a friend here for lunch. There weren't many people there so the service was great.
We ordered calamari and bruschetta for appetizers and both were delicious. I ordered the Rigatoni Alla Bolognese and it was great.
I would recommend this place.
We arrived early just after a visit to the tenement museum. Staff and service was great. Restaurant was not that crowded but had a steady arrival of customers. Margherita pizzas Tuscan style delish. Great tiramisu. Very nice dinner option for those of us on the early side with kiddos
The food wasn't great for the price. The service was okay, not very attentive. I wouldn't go back there.
You can never go wrong with the food or the service. They make you feel like family!!
Staffs were so nice and friendly and the food were so delicious. Definitely will go back there again.
Food was fine, but not great. Decor was nice, but we were ignored by the waiters, possibly because we were not 25 years old.
Unfortunate nasty writing on bathroom walls
Bar or Italian Restaurant? Was not comfortable enough for family dinner.
We were 11 or 12 minutes late and they did not have a seat for us. I understand they are supposed to hold a reservation for 15 minutes.
Sat with no server ever approaching us. Should not have to wait 20+ minutes for water with other open tables.
Awesome restaurant with good vibes great food and amazing customer service.
The food was amazing, the service was cheerful and helpful while also being attentive to our needs while on a busy Saturday night. Highly recommend!
Amazing lobster ravioli and great pizzas ! Wouldn't recommend the jalapeno marg, stick to the wine.
Great service and pizza
I had been to your Ludlow location multiple times and very disappointing from the minute we walked in. The Restaurant was cold we were seated next to a space heater. When asked to be moved, the response was sorry thats it! (the restaurant was empty). Additionally, all 3 of us agreed that the food was just ok. I had to send back the Prosciutto and Burrata. The Burrata was runny, tasted sour and unlike any experience I had eating Burrata. Though the manager was accommodating he told me thats how it should be. Tremendously disappointed in the end all I had time was my started salad as we had limited time for dinner. The rest of the group thought the food was just ok. I guess the 3rd time is not a Charm!
Portion of fish may have satisfied a pigeon, but was way too small for a human.
Rest of meal was good.
Love this place
Poppin’ little place in a super fun and trendy part of Lower East Side. Will come back every NY trip.
