La comida excelente pero el servicio deficiente.
very good pasta dishes and dessert. have been here several times.
First team dinner in almost 2 years was exceptional!
Good food, but our waiter disappears for 20 mins which led to a series of hand waving at every staff member we would see. Finally, when we complained to the Maître D he showed up.
Ambiance was great and our table was amazing. They even brought a dessert on the house for our birthday celebration.
Overall a good experience.
The service was fine, certainly not polished or great. Preparation snd quality of food was decent, not extraordinary. Prices were high. General atmosphere outside was really enjoyable.
Nothing special - service not impressive
Service was very slow. Took 2 hours to get our dinner order. Management was not helpful
The food was super amazing and the crew so friendly.
One of my best places in Manhattan
The service is excellent
Our waiter took our appetizer and drink orders and forgot to come back to take our main dish order. After that was taken, the food took really long, or the waiter forgot to check on our food. It was disappointing. The manager did offer two free desserts.
Entirely below average seems to describe it best. Half an hour for appetizer to appear, another half hour for mains. Meatball appetizer came out cool but sauce was good which could not be said for the bland lasagna……my companion has had better tomato sauce from a can. The overpriced pasta with black truffle was tasteless and overcooked
Asked waiters for plates/bread three times to no avail. Missed one of the orders, too.
I love the Serafina brand. However, something is wrong with this location. The food was tasteless (we tend to order the same thing so we know what it tastes like at other locations) and the service was terrible. We will continue to eat at other Serafinas but avoid this location at all cost.
Very slow service and not what I expected from Serafina. We waited a while to be seat although the place was not full nor was there even a line to be seated and the service was very much lacking. I don't think I will return.
The person in the table next to us was playing videos loudly from her phone, that seemed to be ok? The pasta seemed out of a box, nothing special, not bad but not good. I tried to order something straight off the menu but the waiter basically wouldn't order it and said I had to order a meal $10 more expensive (lunch), it wasn't worth arguing but clearly more food than I wanted. Won't go back.
This Serafina(210 West 55th St.) was really not good at all. We ate inside - and there was no air conditioning - so yes - it was very warm!! We waited forever to be noticed by anyone that was part of the waitstaff. Finally we were able to flag someone over - and we got water - and were able to actually order drinks! Drinks slowly came over. The ginger ale and seltzer were totally flat. We for asked new drinks and the next round were just as bad. On a positive note - no problem with mixed drinks. Never got any bread for the table. Appetizers arrived on a timey basis, and were good. Unfortunately our dinners did not all come out at the same time - which had all of us waiting for everyone to finally have their food! Also, after everyone finally received their dinner -they brought over bread!! I understand staff help is down in many restaurants - but this service was absolutely horrible!! Another table had to actually go find a waiter so they could pay their bill!! We are definitely not returning here!
Serafina is an amazing restaurant — the owners are very client driven and it’s obvious they treat the staff very well.
Best pasta carbonara I’ve ever had!! Food was amazing!!
Unbelievably expensive for a very, very sub-par meal. Spend your money elsewhere that’s more worth it!
The service was horrible, they only refilled our waters 2x after I asked for more water 4x total. They never came back to ask for more drink orders otherwise we would have ordered another bottle of wine. Once we received our dessert we could not track a waiter down to cash us out for 30 mins. A member of my party even stood up and asked another waiter and still no one came over to us. I know they are likely struggling with staffing but they should not seat that many tables if they are unable to handle the volume.
The cocktail menu wasn’t too big. Not a huge selection.
They seemed understaffed and frantic but inattentive. We could hardly get the waiters attention and it took so long for us to get what we asked. The fish we ordered was tuna and it had a horrible smell and taste definitely not fresh. We ordered slices of cake for my mother’s birthday and they had it sitting at the bar infront of us for way to long before handing it to us because they were looking for candles or something which was very embarrassing. very poor service.
Server seemed to be overloaded by the amount of tables attending to and therefore, we had to be calling/raising hand, getting up to get help when needing to order additional items.
It was good. I would go again
Went to Serafina for a Sunday lunch with a friend after we had just been shopping on Fifth Ave. The host was incredibly rude when we arrived — didn’t say much and in a scene from The Devil Wears Prada, just sort of flinged his hand to where we should sit outside. He, nor a waiter, walked us over to the table and so we just sat in one of the many open spots. While two waiters saw us sitting down, and after we requested service twice, it took them 20min before someone came to take our orders; we were ready to get up and leave but stayed. I tried to order a cocktail and was told they only serve wine and beer for lunch (it doesn’t say this on their digital menu), and we ordered pasta. My order carbonara was good, but my friend’s aioli pasta was totally unseasoned. We definitely won’t be back soon!
Great food and service! It's one of our go-to restaurants when we visit NYC.
Serafina is always a safe choice. The food and service are pretty even, and it is a great place for a casual outing. If you are looking to impress someone, this is not the place for you, but for family and friends, it fits the bill.
Decent but bait and switch with the menus listed here on open table vs at the restaurant. We went for brunch thinking the brunch menu would be offered along with complimentary cocktails, it was not. We paid $16 for mimosas which is very high for what they were. Our server was not apologetic at all when asked why the other menu wasn’t being offered. His response to us asking was “no.”
We had a very enjoyable dinner here last week. I had an excellent dish with white sauce, mushrooms and pasta but I don’t recall the name. My family had rigatoni and loved it.
The dinner was disappointing. Although the food was excellent, the portions were really tiny as was the drink. Everything was small except the prices which were in the same price range as other nearby restaurants that do not leave you hungry. A restaurant should especially not skimp on lettuce and pasta which are not very costly but the salad and the pasta dish were both surprisingly small.
Wonderful lunch. Service was efficient and food was excellent.
This is one of a few locations in Manhattan. We have enjoyed the other locations, but it was our first time at this--and likely our last. Like the other locations, the food was very good. Unlike the other locations, the service was very slow and definitely lacking. For example, our hungry boys gobbled up the bread while we waited (a long time) for 2 salads and a pizza. We never got the bread. My mother-in-law ordered a cappuccino which she never received, but we were charged for (I had the waiter remove it from the bill). We were seated outside on a cool afternoon, but it took them a long time to get a working space heater. In general, anytime we wanted something, it took a long time to get the waiter's attention, even though they were not fully busy. The worst though, was when my wife took our kids to the restroom at the end of the meal, she overheard the waiter and busser saying something negative and uncalled for about our party. Very unprofessional and disappointing.
Delicious and attentive waitstaff
The service and the food were very good. But we ordered a bloody mary and it had much too much salt. We were told it came from a prepackaged drink mix. Personalized drinks would be better. Thanks...
Always serves up great food and ambience.
Cook had no gloves when handling food.
Waitress did nothing for our anniversary, even congratulations.
Waited 30+ minutes for water refills.
Overrated and overpriced.
Will not return again.
Food was terrific! Price was a little high, but typical for NYC. Service could have been a bit more consistent, given that the restaurant was not at all crowded. And what restaurant doesn't have iced tea? Otherwise a great weekday lunch.
Our trip from CT to NY brought us to Serafina. Outside dining was nice. The food was PERFECT. My experience was phenomenal.
What a lovely dinner at Serafinas! The food was delicious and service was very attentive. Will be coming back soon!
Muy buena la comida
