The food is tasty and portions are good. Ricardo’s service is amazing. BTW their Barolo is divine - paired with their truffle fries and burger was simple yet fabulous!
LOVED our server, the food and the atmosphere! Tons of gluten free options, will definitely be back!
Food was food although the service was subpar. It took forever to get basic things like plates and the receipt. Food was good though will not be back.
Excellent food and service. Our server Walter was highly attentive and friendly.
Got a cocktail upon arrival. Our food came about 10 minutes after we ordered it... so quick! :) Our server NEVER checked back in. We wanted wine with our dinner so we waited to finish our meals.... maybe about 20 minutes hoping he would come back so we could order a glass to enjoy with our pasta. He never came and our pasta was cold so we finished and waited a while longer until he finally came back. It wasn’t his fault but he was so weeded... he was the bartender for the service bar, himself and had a lot of tables to serve. Clearly this place isn’t set up for success right now.
Visiting Boston for the day and found Serafina. Staff were friendly and attentive. We all enjoyed our lunch and I really liked the Penna Alla Voka with shrimp the waiter recommended. Also ordered a Margherita pizza for the app. It was spot on too. They had outdoor seating but we opted for inside and felt comfortable. I'd recommend this place easily.
We ate outside. The ravioli was good, the chicken parm was dry and not so good. Our problem with this place was the disinterested, unprofessional service.
The server who thought the table was going to be five, walked away when he found it was two and did not even greet us. Waited quite a while before coming back and when we asked for physical menus we waited again. Then waited a long time for the bottle of wine. Then waited for a long time for the salad. The main course was then brought almost immediately after the salad. Not asked how things were.
In the middle of the long wait, we asked whether bread was included and was told it was. After 10 minutes it was brought - inedible with no oil or butter. Charged $3 for the bread! Not listed on the menu as a charge item, the waiter just shrugged his shoulders when we explained we were told by his co-server it was included and not on the menu.
It was not very busy and there were plenty of servers - looking disorganized and disappearing for long periods of time. We tipped but on reflection maybe we should not have.
We watched the host disinfect the table and one chair had to point out to her to do the second. Then to top it off, she indicated on Opentable we were a no show, texting 3 times after we had left and did not respond to my replies saying we had been there.
There are plenty of places on Newbury Street to enjoy an outside meal with good food and good service.
We arrive just before our reservation time and got a great seat outside. Very relaxed atmosphere and we didn’t feel rushed at all. Food was excellent! Will def be back here!
The service was really poor. We ordered beers, and we received them 30 minutes after. Any time we needed something, the attitude of the server wasn't right.
I got a Cesar Salad, and I did not enjoy it because of the lack of dressing and two small pieces of chicken (which I paid additionally for). My friends ordered bread for the pasta (which they charge you for), and they brought them when they already ate all the dishes.
Server could have been more pleasant. The prosciutto and burrata appetizer was disappointing and lacked flavor. Perhaps a more aged and thinner sliced prosciutto...?
The specialty cocktails were very sweet and ingredients didnt taste fresh.
With the size of the outdoor dining space, the ambiance could have been much better.
Good place. The food is good. The server Riccardo did a good job. In general, the servers were spread a little too thin.
Serafina is the best casual pizza place in the neighborhood. After my horrible experience at Stephanie's sitting between an overflowing trash can and a police barricade with cars screaming by on Newbury Street, it is great to find a place in the neighborhood with such a nice ambiance. I have been three times in three weeks. Luisa, Ricardo and all the other waitstaff are really nice and provide great service. Perfect place for a pizza or a pasta and salad with an Aperol Spritz. Go often. You won't regret it!
The food was great. Drink menu a bit limited. We didn’t have the friendliest or most accommodating server and had to ask others to support a special request but I would return. Al fresco dining is quite nice.
The food was average at best. We found a piece of hair in our food and told the waiter, but he did nothing about it.
It was a great night out with friends. Great food and service. Draft beer was good but served at room temperature in a hot day, it should be chilled.
Place to go back and have wine instead.
Nice to sit outside. Good food. Good waiter. The front of house wasn’t very welcoming.
Our server, Riccardo was just wonderful! We also enjoyed the quiet outdoor table and which was a nice secluded spot.
Wouldn’t recommend for outdoor dining, food is overpriced and service was mediocre (had to ask multiple times for additional place settings etc) and food is not worth the high prices. I’ve been to other Serafina’s in NYC and the Hamptons and the food and service were much better there, seems to be a disconnect w the Boston location. Cocktails were also in tiny glasses and mainly ice. If you want to dine on Newbury street I’d recommend probably anywhere else on Newbury and if you want Italian food go to the North End!
Love this place! The service and the food is outstanding. It is one of our favorite neighborhood places!
Delicious food, very helpful and accommodating staff. Had a great time!
Great Italian food, great atmosphere, good prices, definitely recommend!!
I'll be back for sure
Our server was great but the support staff needs a bit of Covid training.
If the goal is to expose the staff and patrons to each other as little as possible make sure the service Is brought out all at once. We had water glasses come in two sets, Appetizers were served but plates were missing. Once the plates came the napkins and forks and knives took another round
The worst was we were asked to keep our forks and knives
Between courses but they cleared our plate.
The only place we could have stored the cutlery was on the table. There was not place Mat, no plate, no table cloth. So we held them in our hand while waiting for our next course. Which again arrived in two separate batches 10
There should be better safety procedure and staff training
Second time that we ate here this trip. Love the food and everyone there. Brent is great with his recommendations and service and we feel like we have known Sophie for years with our connection to Tulane! We'll be back.
Bill & Bonnie from Baton Rouge
Great place excellent food and drinks
I have reviewed this restaurant before ... I live in the neighborhood so we frequent this restaurant often. It’s so good and never disappoints
In general the food is good. The meatballs are tiny and not very flavorful and someone in our party thought the ravioli was good but not great. I think they have an opportunity to serve tastier food.
Half and half bread board was great. Rick, our waiter was outstanding. Good food, good vibe, great time.
Hi MarkM, Thank you so much for your positive review! Happy to hear you had an amazing time with us. We hope to see you again soon
Terrible service. Food came in 20 minutes and the waiter didn't return to check on us for almost 2.5 hours. Forgot our drink orders twice

This is a very busy venue in Back Bay Boston. It is very tiny, so the seating is tight. Together with the loud music and close quarters, avoid it if you want quiet conversation. The food is inexpensive. A favorite, “Spaghetti Cacio e Pepe” was prepared with so much pepper it was practically inedible. Fresh Neapolitan style pizza is a strong point of the menu.
Hi HackDoc, Thank you so much for your review and feedback. Especially your point about the Cacio E pepe. We will take this into consideration. Happy to hear you enjoyed our pizza style! We hope to see you again soon!
Excelente atención y comida !
