We have had positive experiences at other branches of Serafina, but were disappointed by our first visit to this outpost. The food was bland--the arugula salad was wilted, shrimp was not fresh, and the pasta had too much sauce. Overall, the meal was overpriced and unappealing.
Great bartender; professional service. The pasta dishes are fine. The salads are better. The balsamic vinegar is aged 20 years and to die for.
It was pleasant, simple, good food, and good attitude...look forward to becoming a regular !
The service is horrible. The waiter never once came by although the salads had not even come out 45 minutes into the meal. The drinks were wrong and there was no carbonation in the soda. Wine was warm. When we called the manager over there was a lot of eye rolling and although she apologized, there was no offer to get a round of drinks or to even offer more bread. I’ve been to three other Serefina’s and they’ve all been great. Do not waste your money here.
Love all the locations and this new one is most welcome in the neighborhood.
The UWS has a new great place to eat! Simply delicious food, he service amazing, and the place could not be more enjoyable. A party of six on a Friday night and we never felt rushed, hurried or ignored. The food was really, really good. I have to tell you, was not so impressed by the other Serafina locations, but this new location was phenomenal. It may become my new neighborhood go-to!
Went with friends for a birthday dinner. Great options for vegetarians and people who eat gluten-free!
Went with another family of three. The ambiance was good for this sort of relaxed group. Other than the pizza, which was excellent, the food was pretty bad. Caesar salad entirely soft green leaves soaked in oily dressing. Shrimp and avacado with white beans was sour and inedible.
The service was TERRIBLE and management was completely unapologetic when we complained.
The waitstaff was friendly, and our food was brought to us very promptly. We were there at 6:15 on a Monday, and it was relatively empty when we arrived. By the time we left, it had started to get busy. Great experience, will go back.
Pizza and pasta at a high price and high throughput; not much more to say other than go with the little league team.
I’m Italian and I was expecting something authentic. The wine wasn’t that good and overpriced. The risotto with mushrooms was very good but the ricotta pie was to sweet.
Nice addition to the neighborhood
Excellent food! Great place for a date, festive but quiet enough to have intimate conversation.
Lovely setting and exceptional service. Food is delicious. A wonderful experience.
The staff were nice but the food was not what we had expected. It was very bland and we didn’t finish the pizza. Another patron said the food was usually very good so maybe just an off night.
First time at this location and it did not disappoint. The food and atmosphere are great and there were enough options for those with dietary restrictions
I always like Serafina but this one is still a little rough around the edges. I’m sure it’s because they haven’t been open very long. The service was shaky. My pasta, Caccio e Pepe (cheese and pepper) came with no pepper. The manager took care of it promptly and my pasta was very good. The noise level is almost unbearably loud. I may wait until sidewalk tables open up before returning.
Food was routine. Service was slow, waiter was inattentive. There are 2 competing restaurants within a few blocks of this place, both of them better: Arco (Sardinian) and Mezzogiorno (Italian).
Serafina is always a safe choice when you feel like Italian food. They offer good variety of menu, price is modarate and service is reliable. We had pizza and pasta this time, both were OK, not the best we ever had. But if we are in that neighborhood and need a quick bite, we will go back.
Good Italian food--very extensive menu. Very good service.
We really enjoyed our meal at Serafina. Excellent food and a nice selection of wine. Friendly service.
I have eaten at Serafina 105 a few times now, and it is becoming a great addition to the neighborhood! The food is good, hot, and consistent. The pasta is homemade with many sauces and unique variations to choose from: lobster ravioli, and truffle linguine--delicious! The focaccia with cheese and truffle is wonderful, also the truffle pizza is my favorite! The salmon is good, but not always cooked to order and small piece for the price. I have to say, there are so many Italian restaurants in the city all serving the same faire, it is nice to have a little variation on the same-ole-same boring food--like over-cooked boxed pasta with bland sauce, I could easily cook at home. The wine is affordable,-good, but new table wine. The staff is nice, and always try to seat everyone, but a good idea to make reservations after 7, because it is usually busy between 7 and 9 pm. Overall based on food, quality, service and value: good food, good quality, good service, but I think the value is just OK for the price--good, if you want good Italian food without leaving the neighborhood. If the pasta and salad portions were just a bit larger, it would be a great value!
Service was very, very slow
Average food. Poor uninterested wait staff. Hustle bustle turnover of a chain restaurant. Paltry portions, poor presentation for $. We won’t b back!
Great addition to the neighborhood..have eaten there and had food delivered...all very good.
We welcome Serafina to the neighborhood! The Upper West Side has been a dining-out wasteland for many, many years. Hard to know why except for the past few years -- the rents are extremely high. There are plenty of adults (with and without families) who would frequent good options if only they were located here.
This location offered a perfect spot to celebrate Thanksgiving dinner.
The staff are amazing. Would return again.
It was good that we had a reservation because it was very crowded and noisy. Menu has potential but for the prices, it resembled fast food. Grated cheese, black pepper and chopped basil were needed to finish a pasta dish but were not served until the meal was over(in spite of two requests). Also it competes with two restaurants in the neighborhood with similar Italian pizza-pasta food choices.
Food was good and generously portioned. The burrata was delicious!
This is a new location for Serafina so hopefully the food will get better. The atmosphere is very nice, the menu is varied, and the service was excellent. However, the food was a bit uninspired. But I would go again as a comfortable neighborhood place and I would hope that the food will improve
No liquor license so had to go across the road for some wine. They seemed eager to please.
Lovely addition to the neighborhood. The food was really good. Service is still getting their sea legs but they were kind and pretty attentive. I will be going back. We needed this spot. Welcome to the neighborhood!
