Terrific food. The four of us asked our server to bring a selection of her favorite appetizers (we selected a couple that we didn’t want to miss). Our only instructions were to bring enough so if we added a paella for three (there were four of us) we’d be satisfied. Our server picked wonderful items. For dessert we shared the Arroz con Leche.
The red sangria is excellent too.

The food is fantastic! The service is awesome! I always feel like I'm visiting friends!! DJ nights are the best!!!
All though the interior does not have much of a Spanish vibe the food does. Definitely has some great suckling pig and paella. A nice selection of Spanish Wines a region often overlooked at other restaurants.
The staff took very good care of us for a special occasion dinner (including a couple flutes of cava to toast on the house!). The stuffed trout special was outstanding - one of the best fish entrees I’ve had in recent memory. Cocktails were very good, with some unique touches. This was a noticeable step up from our previous experience here which was nice but not memorable, and didn’t really live up to expectations. This time our expectations were exceeded!

Warm, friendly welcoming service by all staff members. Delicious food. Tableside hand-sliced premium Negra ham. Refreshing chilled Gazpacho for a warm evening. Excellent iced Oysters on the half shell. Cheeses very good with jams. Colorful tasty grilled vegetables. Delicious octopus with potato.

White sangria - absolutely the BEST. The suckling pig is superb. Two companions had the short ribs and noted the meat was tender and rich. Brussels sprouts were good, but average. Menu tilts toward seafood. Table service was on the slower side and semi-friendly. Ambience is pleasant with big windows and decent space between tables. The whole experience had a European type of feel to it. I would go back with pleasure.
Service was attentive and friendly. The menu had a lot of options but we opted for the day’s specials of fried red snapper which was delicious. The presentation was amazing with the whole fish curved on the platter. The meat of the fish was in chunks, fried and very crispy outside and fish moist inside. Serve with potatoes cubed. The beef tartar was very tasty. The 1/2 dozen oysters very fresh, however the shrimp which came with it were very mushy...the only disappointment. The cappuccino was robust and the chocolate soufflé delicious.
The food is great
So I've liked SER in the past, but tonight there were several plates that were under cooked and just not flavorful. For the amount we paid, I expect the food to be cooked and have some seasoning. Service was great. But for a nice night I think I'll try another spot.
wow, what a great surprise! Foodies will love the adventure; non-foodies may be a little put off by goat's and sheep's milk, and squid qith squid ink, but traveler enjoy! There are so many good choices you will find with a little patient review, like the duck, the patata, the shrimp, and the vegetarian plates. And their sangria! Not only great, but great in presentation! Seek out Walter as your waiter, too! Love this find! Enjoy your evening!
Our waitress unfortunately was not very good. The reservation had that it was our anniversary so I’m not sure why they paired us with her. She was curt, forgot about us many times through our the meal, never explained the specials, and generally did not do a great job.
The meat and cheese with bread appetizer was very tasteful with applesauce accompanying the blue cheese. We had fish cooked in a salt shell that was very tender and moist.
A neighborhood gem - love this place. My husband and I have been coming a few times a year since it opened in 2015 and we always enjoy our meals and the atmosphere.
I would definitely go again. Food was delicious. And they make a fabulous old fashioned cocktail.
I’d go back for that alone.
Have been several times and enjoyed SER, but this Sunday evening visit stands out for the poor/distracted service and the $450 (+tip) for 3 people to share tapas and wine.

Wanted to try out a new tapas restaurant and it did not disappoint! The service, food and drinks were stellar.

This was our second visit to SER. The first one was dinner and everything was wonderful. Our recent visit was for lunch on a Saturday...we were the only patrons. The hostess was also our waitress, which was fine, except she was dressed for lounging around the house, made no effort to explain anything, and in general seemed couldn't care less. The food was very so-so and I had ordered Wagyu steak, so it should have been worth the $38. The salad on my partner's plate was a mish mash that seemed thrown together. I wonder if this restaurant will make it...the difference from one visit to the other was startling. We will not go again.
We had a really great meal here! Our waitress was a little difficult to understand at times, but we thought it was just due to other tables nearby being a little loud - obviously they were having a great time ;) This place has a bit of a theatre/show feel to it as meats are carved right at your table. Really amazing quality, overall. And, not bad pricing. Would definitely recommend!
We enjoyed the cheese platter, wine and baby squid plate. The night overall seemed off from what I'm used to at SER. I hope it was an anomaly because we LOVE going there, love having it in the neighborhood.

We have eaten there many times and always glad we returned.
I went here with my wife and my parents, who have very particular dietary restrictions. The waitstaff were amazingly accommodating, and we all enjoyed our appetizers and entrees, especially the salt-crusted dorado and a grilled turbot. The tableside-mashed potatoes were another highlight. Given all that we ordered, we were pleasantly surprised with the value we got from the meal. My wife and I will definitely be back in the near future.
Fantastic tapas, attentive service. Will come back to enjoy every dish.

Red sangria with an ice cube made out of frozen fruit was delicious. Creme and chocolate flan also were outstanding. Everything else, such as the seafood paella, short ribs, calamari, salmon, pork loin and bread were overpriced and average.
Outstanding...paella is the best around. Exceptional service. Will definitely be returning.

My second visit to SER after three years. Everything was great. Food was excellent and well-presented, service was prompt and friendly and the wine was terrific. One of group was also impressed with the way the Sangria was served. Absolutely happy to recommend the restaurant.

My wife and I visited during Washington Restaurant Week and had a very enjoyable meal. I had the tortilla de patatas, grilled pork loin, and chocolate flan, and my wife had watermelon and tomato salad, pork loin, and fruit with ice cream. Each item was delicious, and the starter courses were pleasantly creative. The service and attention we received from Stacey, our waitress, and Joaquin, the owner, were exceptional and made our dinner quite memorable.
