Food was good and service attentive, but the kitchen was slow.
We sat outside in the tent. Not the restaurant's fault but traffic noise was quite bad. Otherwise the tent area is comfortable. We opted for the restaurant week menu and everything was fine but it wasn't really Spanish cuisine. Husband thought the chicken pate was too thin and soupy but tasted fine. Chimichurri flank steak was nice and cooked as ordered but almost no taste of chimichurri. Flan was lovely. We will return and order from the regular menu so as to sample the Spanish cuisine which is no doubt where they really shine.
Food was bland and needed salt, too. Burger boring; veggies perfectly steamed but lacked any butter, oil, or spice; monkfish tough; chicken pate was plain, pureed chicken livers of baby food consistency. Bread excellent as was accompanying olive oil, though the container dribbled all over the table. Even the dessert was bland: "Spanish French toast" was a boring bread pudding lacking much needed flavor; cinnamon, lemon, orange, almond would have helped. Vanilla ice cream was good. Overworked servers were hustling as best they could. Outdoor patio seats aren't very comfortable; metal is cold; traffic is distracting.
Food was delicious, atmosphere was great, and staff were friendly. Definitely a great place to eat!
Restaurant week menu was bland.
Magical every time. One of my favorite places. Thank you!
Great food, service a little slow but there were two big parties so understandable.
Excellent food. Live trying all the different dishes. From appetizers to desserts everything was delicious.
Amazing service and food! Our server Walter took great care of us in our menu and wine selections as this was our first time dining here. Highlights were the cold cuts (Cana de Lomo and Jamon Pata Negra) and the cheeses (Mahon and Montenebro), Crudo de Atun (raw tuna app), Sardinas a la Plancha and the special grilled octopus with mixed greens, radishes and orange segments.
Great meal. Great service. Excellent drinks and wine selection.
Our server, Michael, was excellent!! We had a table of seven outside, and it was a perfect birthday dinner with friends!
Once again, SER delivers. Kudos for its expansion over the sizeable sidewalk space using heavy duty tents, space heaters (when needed), and well-spaced tables. It's far enough from the road to hear one another. The 3 of us (one a foodie) ordered a variety of starters with fresh bread and quality olive oil. The ensaladilla rusa was a special delight. You can opt to stop with tapas as a meal. We went on to savor the smoked pork dinner and the ribs, both lip smacking. Leave room for dessert, which is not light if you choose the dark rich chocolate soufflé or Goxua (we justified the calories by walking home). SER is a wear-your-jeans or dress up place, concentrating on great food. Service was excellent and charming. A value for the bucks.
Ordered lots of appetizers to share which was fun. The ribeye was also fun because of presentation and was delicious.
Really good, next time I will try the paella.
Great overall experience and the food was delicious. We ended up visiting on a night that may be a little bit busier than others so we noticed that our wait staff were quite busy attending to other customers as well as us (absolutely no fault to the wait staff - we know how difficult it can be on busy nights!). Our waitress was incredibly friendly and knew the menu very well. She made several excellent recommendations and we’re glad we took her input. We would definitely like to return sometime soon!
Searing outside under the tent was very noisy.
Great business dinner, the sangria is fantastic!
Great overall menu and impressive Spanish wine list. The meat and cheese platter to start was a great value. Ask about the catch and beef of the day. The swordfish and rainbow trout were cooked to perfection!
I have eaten here a few times in the past, and have enjoyed it. But things seem to be off quite a bit in terms of execution. Our dishes were under seasoned (the bravas and the pan con tomate), overcooked (bruselas) or undercooked (pimientos), etc. Some things were just unappetizing (like the berenjenas). Suggest: work on execution! Because this was a good restaurant before, in my opinion!
Great atmosphere, the food was delicious and the service was great, meat paella 🥘 was one of the best we had in a while.
Absolutely delicious meal. Service was gracious. Great outdoor space
Outstanding service and delicious food.
Excellent meal and great service. We sat outside so did have some traffic noise but it's awesome space! We had a really nice evening.
We had fun tasting many tapas. A bit noisy, but good background music.
My wife and I dined at SER for our anniversary. We dined from the raw bar, meats and cheeses and small plates. Drinks and wine were great. Just an overall wonderful experience!
Lovely experience. Thrilled to see they’re doing good and always busy, because it’s one of the best restaurants in NoVA.
The red wine flight had a generous pour, and the Pulpo was amazing!
SER was the perfect venue for our dinner out with 8 friends. Comfortable outdoor seating, great menu, and a very nice wine selection.
This is a great place to spend Happy Hour! Spanish wines that are so good and food to match-especially the calamari. Service is extraordinary. Plenty of outdoor seating. Great value for all that comes with the experience. 5 stars.
Food is great! Service is amazing and fantastic. Our waiter was very attentive
Good Paella, wine selection was nice, outdoor seating was a plus, and we enjoyed the chocolate soufflé.
A party of four, we arrived early on a Saturday evening, having booked outdoor seating. The only truly exceptional aspect of our evening was our server, Michael, who greeted us enthusiastically and immediately fixed our tippy tables. He never missed a cue or failed to appear when needed. He was very knowledgeable about both food & beverages. What a pro! Alas, the experience was not enhanced by having to find the garage ramp & walk down to it to get back to our cars. Appreciate the parking validation, but the locked elevator lobby is a bigger issue.
Always great, friendly service with fantastic outdoor area. We enjoyed many small plates and a nice bottle of wine. The tuna, calamari and jamon were amazing.
A very good place to eat when you are missing Spain. The ample menu provides choices from all over the Spanish provinces. Everything from the tapas plates to the entrees are reflective of Spanish cuisine. The wine list is quite good with lots of good Spanish options. I and my small party were quite pleased with everything we ordered from tapas to entrees to dessert and wine. Their cortado coffee (similar to espresso) was particularly tasty and creamy.
Service was excellent. The food was way over priced for what it was. We got the meat paella which was $60 and was basically a mound of rice and vegetables with a few small chicken wings spread sparsely throughout. Everything else met expectations (croquettes, Brussels sprouts, drinks, desserts), but the “meat” paella was very disappointing.
Thoroughly enjoyed the variety of cuisine and delicious quality.
Our server was attentive and efficient.
As a Spanish person, I can vouch that the food was authentic and tasty. We had a variety of tapas to share, including papas bravas, cazón en adobo, puntillitas, croquetas, pimientos fritos, caña de lomo, and sangria. Everything was delicious and the service was outstanding.
Six of all at table. Wonderful food. Relaxed atmosphere and terrific service.
Great food but not great service no bread or water refills at all very little clearing of the table crazy loud at the bar
Great food and environment our server was very attentive
Paella came out uncooked
