Before six on a Tuesday the dining room was quiet and diners were well spaced out, which was great since our attempt at the (lovely, covered & heated) patio was thwarted by an unusually cold evening. Staff were accommodating of our indecisiveness, and ultimately settled us at a table with plenty of space around it. Food was delicious (zucchini fritters in particular) and the service thoughtful. Dining room had begun to fill as we were leaving ~7, but not uncomfortably crowded.

We ate here for lunch. Outdoors. Nice venue. Canopy-covered. Heaters if needed but not needed that day. Lunch specials were good. I had the serrano ham and manchego cheese sandwich. They give you a basket of freshly baked bread. I had a coke and it was nicely carbonated - many places the soda is flat. Highly recommend. Service is friendly and efficient.
Wonderful restaurant for celebrating a dear friend's birthday! The paella was amazing, and all of the tapas and other small dishes were equally delicious. Several of us tried the wine flight, and that was a lovely surprise with generous pours and written descriptions of the wines.
All in all, a great evening and I know at least one of us will be back!

Our server, Walter, was excellent. He even turned out to be a great sommelier. He let us know that we could also purchase a box of 4 wines to go and we most certainly did. The food is always exceptional.

Fabulous experience! Our server Ricardo, was A1! We had a few tapas: papa bravas , octopus, gambas al ajillo and they were absolutely delicious! The salmon was cooked to perfection! For dessert the Flan and the chocolate mousse were spectacular. Highly recommend checking this place out.
We received fabulous service at dinner from Dulce. She was very welcoming and professional and did a great job despite being super busy with other tables. Also wish to recognize the lady who helped Dulce by clearing plates, giving us bread etc.
One suggestion on food. The Gambas de Ajillo lacked enough garlic. The shrimp was fresh.
One negative, the woman who was the ‘greeter’ had a massive attitude when my wife asked to sit at the ‘family table’ section for happy hour. The woman was somewhat dismissive and said ‘at the bar only’. Well guess what? Look at your happy hour menu! It says bar, family table and outside.
Has very spacious outdoor seating area with nice heat lamp. Went for a drink and nibbles on a Sunday afternoon and was lovely
Squid dinner OK but duck breast fatty. Dessert of Almond cake strawberries and cream very good so overall a mixed review for the dinner.

Food was average in quality and grossly overpriced. We tried quite a few different dishes...nothing bad, but nothing worth noting. Service was poor - we saw our server only once or twice during dinner, and everything took too long. It was definitely not worth the price.

Discovering SER was a real treat! Love the easy to find location in Ballston, underground parking with partial validation, the spaciousness inside and options for outside with flaming portable heaters.
But the best part was the food! We loved the Kale salad, the crispy spicy squid appetizer, the Dorado fish baked in salt which was filleted tableside. The garlicky mashed potatoes were to die for.
Also loved the Spanish Chardonnay at a reasonable price per bottle.
Altogether wonderful dining experience. The waiter was great!
We will go back -- over and over.

We ate outside under a tent on a quiet Sunday night in late November. Two of us had the $50 "Sunday supper" special and two of us ordered from the regular menu. Everything (appetizers, paella, fish, burger) was very good.
Delicious food thoughtfully served. Unpretentious; richly satisfying.

We were disappointed in the size and quality of the Arlington Restaurant Week three-course lunch. My steak with chimichurri was delicious and cooked to my liking, but the monkfish entree was a letdown. The salads were skimpy, definitely not up to the usual SER standard of lush and beautiful. Desserts were the right size: not too big. But one had a hair that we spotted. It and utensils were quickly replaced, but it was a sad end to a not very special meal. Definitely not what I expect from this usually stellar kitchen. One day I’ll learn to stop ordering restaurant week menus: They always fall short.
Food was good and service attentive, but the kitchen was slow.
We sat outside in the tent. Not the restaurant's fault but traffic noise was quite bad. Otherwise the tent area is comfortable. We opted for the restaurant week menu and everything was fine but it wasn't really Spanish cuisine. Husband thought the chicken pate was too thin and soupy but tasted fine. Chimichurri flank steak was nice and cooked as ordered but almost no taste of chimichurri. Flan was lovely. We will return and order from the regular menu so as to sample the Spanish cuisine which is no doubt where they really shine.

Food was bland and needed salt, too. Burger boring; veggies perfectly steamed but lacked any butter, oil, or spice; monkfish tough; chicken pate was plain, pureed chicken livers of baby food consistency. Bread excellent as was accompanying olive oil, though the container dribbled all over the table. Even the dessert was bland: "Spanish French toast" was a boring bread pudding lacking much needed flavor; cinnamon, lemon, orange, almond would have helped. Vanilla ice cream was good. Overworked servers were hustling as best they could. Outdoor patio seats aren't very comfortable; metal is cold; traffic is distracting.
