From the OpenTable editors: Chef Andrew Zimmerman's seasonal American tasting menu is so good that this West Loop favorite has consistently held on to a MICHELIN Star since first getting one in 2011. You'll get to choose from several options in your four-course dinner, which might include dishes like crispy ricotta gnudi, roasted monkfish with little neck clams, and a sweet pea pavlova with meyer lemon sorbet. You'll definitely want to get the wine pairing—Sepia won Wine Spectator's 2022 Best of Award of Excellence. Eating here feels extra-special because it's housed in an 1890 print shop with Art Nouveau floors and exposed-brick walls.

Outstanding food, service, and setting. Beautiful dining experience on all fronts, from a highly creative menu to very bold and interesting wine pairings, to excellent service from the moment you walk through the front door. Whether sitting down for a full tasting menu or enjoying a quick drink at the bar, this is just a really unique place all around.

Justin was absolutely amazing, incredibly knowledgeable, genuinely warm, truly funny, and generously hospitable — he is clearly a rare gem in the hospitality industry, & we felt like he did the work to deliver a one-of-kind-experience. The food was stellar; what especially stood out to us were the consommés & sauces — the flavors were complex, layered, and unforgettable — box them up & sell them all over the country! Thank you for an incredibly unforgettable experience!!!

Overall, it was a lovely experience and my first Michelin Star Restaurant. The food was delicious and I really appreciated the explanation of what we were about to eat. They had a Zero Proof pairing menu which was absolutely perfect because I’m sober and it’s easy for me to feel left out when others can enjoy a wine pairing and there’s nothing for me. PROS: - food was great - zero proof option was perfect - dessert was stunning - did not feel rushed in one bit CON: - the time in between each course was way too long. Our longest wait in between courses was 40 minutes. We arrived at 8:15, received bread at 9:00, and finished our meal at 11:30pm. Just a very long night and unfortunately I ended up full after because of the length of time in between courses.

Been awhile since being at Sepia. Front of the house, wait staff and all staff very attentive and personable. The Prix Fixe for four courses were all hits! We were celebrating our anniversary and we were able to divide and conquer the menu...we left it to our waitress and were not disappointed! Recommend starting by adding the Caviar. Prosecco was brought to the table gratis given the occasion. All in all a memorable experience. We hope to enjoy Sepia more frequently with the hope of ala carte dining at the bar if available for a more casual experience.
