From the OpenTable editors: Chef Andrew Zimmerman's seasonal American tasting menu is so good that this West Loop favorite has consistently held on to a MICHELIN Star since first getting one in 2011. You'll get to choose from several options in your four-course dinner, which might include dishes like crispy ricotta gnudi, roasted monkfish with little neck clams, and a sweet pea pavlova with meyer lemon sorbet. You'll definitely want to get the wine pairing—Sepia won Wine Spectator's 2022 Best of Award of Excellence. Eating here feels extra-special because it's housed in an 1890 print shop with Art Nouveau floors and exposed-brick walls.

Ordered the chef experience with wine pairing (6 pours). Knew I was in for a good time with the first bite of the prosciutto donut with a generous shave of truffle. Even loved the last two dessert items that I thought I wouldn’t like and the red wines I normally wouldn’t like when paired with the food. The staff seemed genuinely friendly instead of the snobbery experienced a couple other places.

What an amazing experience, from walking in the door, to taking my final bite. This was my 1st experience at a Michelin rated restaurant... and, it did not disappoint! Erin (sp?) was an outstanding guide throughout my meal, ready with keen wit and easy banter, and there to discuss the epicurean creativity at every turn. I only had one cocktail - a Manhattan - but it was executed perfectly; right on the money, as ordered! I went with the 8 course option, chef's choice and it was nothing short of stunning, from the opening amuse bouches through the added caviar course, and on to my fav, the scallop and sea urchin concoction, with koshihikari, gochujang consomme and sesame, and finishing with an absolutely RAD dessert, the chef's jivara milk chocolate "frosty" ... unbelievable! Anyway, you might get the idea it knocked my socks off, it did!!! Thanks Erin, for being an incredible culinary tour guide par excellance, Chef Zimmerman and everyone at Sepia, it was a truly unforgettable experience!

This was not my first Michelin starred restaurant, but it was the best I’ve experienced. Everything was perfect. Magnificent, creative flavors. Flawless presentation. Meticulous service. Superb drinks. Delightful ambiance. It was everything you would expect from such a highly rated restaurant - including the hefty price tag. But it was worth every penny. We went on a Monday night, which I recommend. It was busy enough to be lively but not so busy it got noisy. 5/5 on everything.

Our server, Natalia, went above and beyond to make sure our anniversary dinner was special. My wife & I opted for the four-course tasting menu with the wine pairing and were very pleased with our dining experience. Some standouts were the smoked beef carpaccio, the Rohan duck breast, and the short rib. The wine pairings were all well-explained and complimented each course perfectly.
