Food was interesting and tasty, highlight dish was prawn with curry dressing. Service was slow and could have been more attentive, over 3 hours between ordering and finishing the tasting menu, restaurant was untidy with uncleared plates and glasses on most tables.

We visited Sepia for my son's 26th birthday. Reservations were easy. The atmosphere is wonderful and the food was perfect. Service was exceptional, especially for a lunch service. I am excited to visit for dinner. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for an experience, along with a great lunch.

This meal changed my life. I've never felt more appreciated as a guest in a private setting, much less a restaurant. I was running a bit late so I called about 10 minutes before my reservation, and they took care of it immediately with no trouble. I showed up about 15 minutes late for my reservation a bit flustered. I was greeted with a smile, they offered to take our coats, and we were seated right away with the warmest hospitality. We decided on the tasting menu + wine pairing, which was substantially more than I was expecting, but I knew that it was going to be fantastic. Each course came out with a detailed explanation of what was on our plate and in our glass, and we barely had to wait in-between courses. They acknowledged my girlfriend's birthday in a tasteful way and topped us off with an extra pour of our desert wine, too. I got the bill and it was... a lot. Looking back, I could have spent about half as much if we didn't go with the 5-course tasting, but it was so unbelievably good that it was worth the $175 per person. I'll definitely need to save up before I come back, but it was absolutely worth it.

This is the third time we have been to this restaurant. So nothing out of our expectation. But since the previous two times were both during Chicago restaurant week, one goal this time for us is to experience more on their normal day menu. I was a little disappointed that it seems the A la carte menu doesn't have many choices. I read about the introduction of the restaurant somewher on their pasta, but I didn't see any particular recommended on the menu. I ordered Wagyu Beef and my husband ordered Pork Tenderloin for entree. Both were very good and we were happy with the food quality. I just wish the menu could have had more choices.

This is the fifth time I have been to Sepia and they consistently deliver a great culinary experience. They offered a fixed price menu for lunch, the serve walked us through the menu and offered her favorites. They did not disappoint. Had the goat cheese ravioli for a starter. It was perfectly balanced with some cream sauce. Then had a root vegetable soup, that was spectacular. I went with the Flat Iron Steak for my entree, medium rare, the way I prefer it and was spot on. It came with some charred cabbage and potato. My friend had the rainbow trout and he really enjoyed it.

Finished off lunch with the lemon poppy seed cake, and it was light, fluffy and delicious. It cam with some time of white chocolate (possibly) an added a nice dynamic to the dessert. I had coffee with it and was the perfect finish to a great meal.

Sepia is on my go-to list for places to celebrate special occasions, or to for anyone who enjoys fabulous food. Service was also top-notch, from the moment I walked through the door, had a coffee at the bar while I waited for my friend.

I've been to Sepia and had great dinners - for lunch it was a teensy plate of chicken that then cost $40+ per head with tip. It was nice but not special enough to justify the premium.

This was a great experience. Our wait staff was wonderful, the food was superb and our wine pairings what you would expect at a Michelin starred restaurant. Such a nice evening.

Guess it is pretty clear that we had a wonderful meal and felt very well taken care of. It is an elegant place with wonderful wine and other options. They were easily able to adjust to some food limitations within the group. It is a bit expensive, but not over the top. And worth it. I hope to go back soon.

We dined at Sepia on 2/23, having been there during Restaurant Week as well. Sepia always delights us, on ever measure. This time, the chef offered roast squab as an alternative to the main course of Rohan duck. It was heavenly, and served with several accompaniments. We hope the chef continues to offer the dish. Our starters - octopus and smoked rabbit terrine - were also delicious. We also split a dessert - chocolate mouse with, among other things, a hazelnut ice cream. It was literally to die for. Our server Gabriel Alex was attentive and knowledgeable. Together with the rest of the well-trained serving staff, our needs were anticipated and service was superb. The dining room is tastefully decorated and beautiful and the space between tables facilitates conversation. This is a perfect place to entertain friends or have a special evening with your partner. Thank you for a wonderful evening!

The food was good but it was loud. However, a good restaurant indeed has a lot of customers. I love the lamb rack and the dessert. A good place for date. By the way, the bread was not served to us. That was the only thing that I was unsatisfied about. Other things were great.

no review, it's always good … and in any case i don't like to diss places * but even when it's not QUITE at the top of its game (maybe food-wise this time), it's always an experience: like the garlic roasted chicken breast—i mean, anywhere else this is ordinary, but the taste combinations were both wonderfully adventurous and unexpected … nothing easy or ho-hum about this at all

but this is what we go to SEPIA for anyway … it's yet to disappoint!

Staff were warm and welcoming. The food was excellent. We ordered the cheese plate which was a nice appetizer. We had the wafts beef and trout entrees - both beautifully prepared and delicious. We had the mousse and sorbet for desert - very tasty. In addition, we were presented with an amuse bouche before the entrees and a sweet ending of mini French macaroons and homemade marshmallows. The server was very friendly and personable but the service was a bit slow with extended wait between courses. That was the only down side of a very enjoyable meal.

The tasting menu was, well, "tasty". A variety of creative approaches to composition, presentation, and flavors. The wine pairings were uniformly excellent. We had a great time chatting with Jennifer Wagoner, the sommelier. Great and very eclectic wine list. Great evening.

Always consistently good food and service. However, they make a big deal about ordering in time for the opera, and they claim to have the menu online. I looked the day of and chose selections, only to find the menu substantially different when I arrived. They shouldn’t claim to have an updated menu online if they’re not going to do so.

This was good overall but with serious qualifications. Everything started very well with special cocktails and nice appetizers. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful at first. When our entrees arrived, the Wagyu beef tips which my wife had specifically ordered as medium were significantly undercooked - medium rare or less. Once she pointed this out the waiter became much less accommodating. Her entree was recooked, which is never as good as when it is done correctly to begin with. From that point he had nothing more to do with us. No one ever bothered to ask if my lamb was OK, which in fact it was not. It was definitely overcooked. I had order it medium rare and it was barely pink at all. I suspect they reversed our orders. Either that or they couldn't get either one right. Anyone can make a mistake (although 2 mistakes out of 2 is a bit much). To act like they don't even care after we pointed out their first mistake is what really seems inferior. It is too bad because the appetizer and sides were really wonderful. This could have been great but it was ruined by mistakes compounded by an uncaring attitude. While the amount we ordered shouldn't really make a difference, our orders of the most expensive cocktails, wine by the glass, sides, desserts and their more expensive entrees easily added up to what the tasting menu plus wine supplements would have been. So there is no reason for less attentiveness based on what we ordered, not that that would be an excuse in any case. All in all a major disappointment.

I west to dinner at layout 530pm February 16th. I was thinking it would be a great dinner. Firstly the server was one of the worst I've had in a fine dining restaurant. There was no enthusiasm and explanation of anything. I said I wanted a course menu mind you the most expensive thing per customer. Usually in a fine dining place the waitress is suppose to come out and explain the dish. This restaurants server only explained the very first item which was a complimentary from the chef, everything else was just thrown on the table. She never came once to say how is everything, had to flag her for more water numerous times. Also the table was not properly seated so it was rocking back and forth almost spilling my wife's wines. I was extremely upset with the level of service with the amount I spent.

Food was really good but we sat there and watched two tables get sat after us get their servers to take their order and get their first course before our server came back to take our orders... We understand it was Valentine’s Day and how crazy it can be but sitting 20mins without being acknowledged was not great
