This was my third visit and Sepia continues to amaze me. Great, very creative food at a reasonable price point. Service was excellent and we really moved the wine list. Lots of great choices with fair pricing allowed us to enjoy three really great wines with dinner.
The food and the service were spot on! The portions were VERY small and the food very pricey. The drinks were good - thought would have been a bit better. Overall, it was lovely but very expensive.
Great service from the moment we walked in the door and even before. Reservation was timely and the front-of-house staff was excellent. Attentive to all our needs. Made our time feel very special. Food was very good. Maybe I'm jaded but wasn't the best I've had as a Michelin star restaurant. Well-cooked, delicious but not unique. Dessert was the highlight. Wines were excellent.
Loved the atmosphere and decor when we arrived. Ambience was spoiled by a very young child at the next table whose parents allowed her free range and even sitting on the table. Did not strike us as a restaurant suitable for young children. Everything elseWas fabulous, particularly our server. Wine list was outstanding but expensive
Excellent well informed servers and delectable food in right sized portions
Food was overall good. One or two dishes were great but expected more based on recommendations from friends
Nothing out of the ordinary but pretty solid food quality.
Thought it was overpriced for the amount and quality of food. A few items were good but overall nothing particularly innovative compared to the price.
Our party of 3 ordered the 5-course prix fix menu and it was creatively prepared and very delicious. Each course was attractively plated and explained by the server.
Service was exceptional! In addition to the 5 courses, we were served a warm delicious seed-topped roll, an amuse, a pre dessert and after dessert bites. This was our first visit to Sepia. We’ll definitely be back. Our server Kim was personable, knowledgeable about menu items and attentive.
The team went out of their way to make our meal special! We were celebrating my husband’s birthday and they gave us a personalised menu to take away as well as some delicious cookies to take away for the next morning! Best meal I’ve had in chicago since moving here 8 months!
It was a good dinner, but was expecting more. So a bit disappointed even if it was good.
Sepia was fantastic. Delicious, perfectly prepared food in elegant surroundings, with terrific service to top it off! Perfect for a special occasion. The sommelier is also outstanding.
Lovely as always.
Meal was superb, as was the staff. Best meal by far in Chicago and we would definitely return.
Very chic place with unique menu that offers a variety of summer punched meals with citrus/sour flavored dishes. If you are planning on taking someone for a special occasion and expecting a free dessert, you won’t get it, choose another place.
Exceptional Michelin Star fine dining venue by Emmanuel Nony. Very experienced, accommodating and knowledgeable staff.
The service was professional and attentive. The food was excellent and well priced with reasonable portions for the quality. I would definitely go back.
I guess I had higher expectations for a Michelin Star rated restaurant. I wasn't necessarily disappointed, just wasn't really blown away.
Great tasting large portion meals.
Our server very patient person. Tables are spaced perfectly apart and conversational noise doesn’t travel.
Unfortunately this was a pretty bad experience. We got to the restaurant at 12:00 and there was no food served until 12:50. Pretty hard for a workday lunch when you need to get to the office. All three of us had a burger and asked for it medium. All three burgers came out well done. This is not what I would expect from a restaurant of this caliber.
Undercooked cold tough chewy duck entree and bland tasting cold sturgeon entree. Nice presentation. Appetizers and extras and desserts all creative and good except carrot dish. Very overpriced small servings. Too much service (it seemed like the it was insincere and just done to impress us)
Always good food and good service. They also always provide warm bread and refill the water timely.
Unique, innovative and high quality menu. High quality ingredients. Very engaged and knowledgeable staff. This restaurant has remarkable staying power in a hyper competitive and growing restaurant market. It has been a success for over 10 years - a testimony to ownership management's ability to evolve.
Sepia made celebrating my husband's 30th birthday truly special! All of the staff were polite, professional, and knowledgeable. They made the evening relaxing and laid back while also being attentive to our needs. Roxie and Jennifer were a pleasure to work with. Thank you!
I had been to Sepia before. I believe the value I obtained from the entrees (duck breast and poached halibut) was below what I expected from a place like Sepia. It was above average but still not the exceptional experience I expect from a place like Sepia
Server was in a rush and not friendly. The food was mediocre at the best. The diner area lighting was too bright for the place. They had white light!
One of the best meals we’ve ever had. The scallops were divine.
Sepia is a one michelin star restaurant that is a guarantee about the food and normally beautiful presentations.
Compared with other restaurants, their menu is affordable and good, the reason for this is that the place feels a bit old (but still nice) and service is just good but far from being excellent.
I was a bit disappointed in the poached bass. Not up to the standards I have enjoyed on all my other visits.
Everything was wonderful - Sepia is an excellent choice for a restaurant close to the theatre district. They helped us meet our time while enjoying the tasting menu. Each course was beautiful to look at and delicious - the tartar with celery root and grapes on brioche, agnolotti and morels with nettle sauce, sea scallops, wagyu beef and desert. Each course was unique and brought unexpected flavors. They have a wonderful, well-priced wine list as well.
Food was really good and extensive wine list. Will definitely visit again!
I always enjoy visiting Sepia when I’m in town. One thing I’ve noticed is that the waitstaff really aggressively clears plates. Like, I’m still chewing my last bite and they whisk the plate away. It’s a bit jarring. If they just waited two more beats to let me swallow and take a breath, it would feel a lot better.
Bartender Keith Meicher is the top reason to go. Go for the cocktails, stay for the food.
We always enjoy the experience
Food was delicious and staff was attentive and friendly. Will definitely recommend it and return
Fantastic food and service
Awesome food and service.
Great food !
Great spot in Chicago. Good food and creative cocktails. The service was attentive and helpful.
The food was well done - interesting flavors and presentation. We had a variety of appetizers and entrees and everyone enjoyed their meals. They also have a tasting menu (which was pretty tempting) but we all ordered a la carte.
Overall - highly recommended. Great experience and a good value for the experience.
