Sepia provided AMAZINGGGGGGGG food and service for reasonable prices. I also recommend stopping at the bar for a drink before/after dinner. The bartenders are amazing and super friendly. Highly recommend Sepia for a 5 star meal.
Ambiance was just okay. Tables are close together.
Presentation was beautiful. Service was great. Wonderful experience - thank you!!
Great spot for a special occasion or an exciting night out. Sepia is upscale without being too elegant, giving you a great location/ambience to enjoy a fantastic meal in a rather relaxed setting. All of the food is balanced and the menu covers a lot of ground, and the service is attentive and fantastic!
We really wanted it to be better! Honestly, their other restaurant, Proxi, is much much better!
For some reason, the lights were very bright inside (first time it has been like that in the 10+ times I've been there). The service seemed a bit rushed and busy. Food was fantastic.
The food, service, ambiance and value were excellent! Chef Andrew Zimmerman's menu is outstanding.
We absolutely will return.
The appetizers were outstanding. The cocktails were very fine. The entrees were obviously cooked in a souvie (sp) they were loom warm and small portions. Dessert was good. For a 100 per person without drinks it wS not what I remembered from the previous visit. Would not recommend again.
Food was outstanding as always!!! Our favorite restaurant in chicago!
Amazing wine list! Great rare wines that are hard to fine in a glass.
Food and cheese platter fantastic.
Amazing food and staff who knows the wine list. We had a wonder experience!
Superb lunch and a great value too
The setting is very attractive. The vibe welcoming and stylish. Our server was pleasant and attentive. And the food was very good. I expect I will return.
Very very slow service. Food was pretty good but portions small.
Wonderful lunch. The hosts would warm and welcoming, the server staff was on top of everything -- professional, warm, helpful, and cognizant it was a business lunch. I'll definitely recommend it.
Was a special event to celebrate a birthday and it was perfect.
Excellent experience been there years ago and enjoyed it just as much. Great food and ambiance. Service is good as well. Wait staff needed to be reminded to bring water couple of times. Otherwise knowledgeable about menu
Yikes. Arrived early to have a drink in the bar area but no one paid any attention to us. I finally had to wave someone down to get a drink ordered but we were rushed to our table and seated in the middle of a busy walk way (we ended up moving our seats to get out of the way of foot traffic, only to find that every time the server waiting on the table next to us passed by we’d get a face full of her rear end because the tables were too close to one another). Papardelle was delicious but that was the only truly good dish, the rest of our meal arrived very late and very cold (and I don’t like to be rushed when eating but clearly the food had been sitting out for a while before being served). Our server was rude and didn’t know anything about the menu, and I left with an upset stomach. I’m not sure who they paid off to get their Michelin Star renewed. The place was also very dirty and the tables and chairs were grimy. Yikes.
I liked pretty much everything at Sepia except the service from our server. I went there with my friends to celebrate my birthday but I didn’t get the service for the amount of money you spent there. We were ignored, often waiting for her to notice us for over 10 minutes. Since the gratuity was already included, I guess she didn’t care that much about us. The only one who actually deserves that tip was the older gentleman that was serving our food. Overall the atmosphere and food was exceptional.
We had a lovely time but it was so crowded- not very intimate. This was our first time Chicago from New Zealand and I booked this restaurant because it looked beautiful, intimate and enjoyable however, I felt very squished and rushed.
Great food and service!
Food was wonderful. Portion was small but good for 2. Crew members are super friendly. The only thing I can complaint is that I had to get the party all in there to sit at the table.
Excellent all around! Attentive but not overbearing service. They took our order all at once from cocktails, to appetizers, wine, main course and dessert. But the Dinner was paced nicely.
Food and cocktails have a modern twist to the classics- - deliciously prepared.
Absolutely loved Sepia! They just earned their well deserved Michelin star for 2020, I will definitely be back!
A little disappointed by the wine list. Close to 1,000 wines on the wine list and only 3 or 4 Napa cabs. Nobody cares about your wines from Croatia. The wine list used to be so much better.
Food was so delicious! Chef Ian was great! Alex our server was on point and help picked a nice bottle of wine for our table. Pork tenderloin was delicious but the star was the duck!
You would except better value for money from a * Michelin
We love it for a special night out. Food and drinks are always excellent. It is annoying that everyone has to get the tasting menu. Other restaurants don’t seem to have that requirement.
Went for my wife’s birthday. Staff was friendly, tasting menu was very good, and we were able to get out in time to catch our show.
Delicious meal, fantastic dessert, beautifully served. My favorite restaurant in Chicago.
Lamb pasta dish among the best dishes I have ever eaten
The food was very good but in some cases lacking distinction. One of the diners that the salmon was very average. I liked the sturgeon very much. The scallops were there but very overpriced
Service was kind of slow
Wine service was slow ,food was overpriced for the portions but was tasty
We were charged for water that we actually did not have, we had tap water
Hopefully the restaurant managers read this and respond to our comments if they want us to go back
Loved the restaurant, the server and the food! Would highly recommend this place and thank my daughter for recommending it to us on our visit to Chicago.
The overall taste of meals and service are good but not astonishing.
Staffs are friendly, but the service detail can be improved.
The restaurant does not meet my expectation as an one-star restaurant, but it is a good place to go for fine dining.
Had a wonderful lunch at Sepia. The service was welcoming, courteous and knowledgeable. The meal was succulent, from the cauliflower soup poured tableside to maintain the crunch and textures of the garnish, to the risotto which was a delicious and wonderful palette of Fall flavors! The carrot cake was inspired, perfectly executed, and an impeccable conclusion to the meal. The $24 price tag left me scratching my head. I have paid more at mediocre fast food joints. Sepia rightfully deserves its Michelin star, and you would be remiss if you went to Chicago and didn't dine there. My compliments to the Chef, and to the entire staff. Thank you!
food and service were great, perfect place for a nice lunch
Great food and service but front of house welcome was rude and we almost left before we ate!
