Loved the decor here. Specialty drinks were great. The wine list is outstanding, they even have unique European wines by the bottle. I was able to order a bottle of Croatian wine which is hard to find in Chicago. Our server was fantastic, steered us in the right direction for our meal selections. The duck and swordfish were delicious.

I truly love Sepia, so something must have been “off”: The service was absent minded & slow. They introduce us the the waiter that was shadowing the primary waiter, but it still seemed too slow, even with that explanation. I had the owner of my firm & a few clients with me, and it was very noticeable.
Will try again because the food is truly fabulous and the portions are perfect.

We had dinner as party of 9. We we’re given a beautiful private corner. The food is delicious and well presented. We ordered different dishes including the dishes in their taste menu. The service is good and warm.

Disapointed, not the same place we have visited before. Sad menu, maybe it was the day after xmas. Not much of a value for $400 for 4 people. Fish was good, other entrees were not much, as were the appetizers. Will not be back.

We came here for a work lunch. It took over two hours. I should feel safe scheduling a 11:45 lunch time when people have 1:30 meetings. I got to sit across from my boss and watch him give me the "We need to get back to work face." for the last hour. Also, fix the flickering light over that table.

Disappointed with our experience. Ambiance and service were great, but food was mediocre at best. Expectations were high, but this was OK at best. For being starred Michelin this was not even close

This was our first visit, but we will surely be back. The foie gras and paté was smashing, as was the celery apple soup, a really fine version of a classic. The sturgeon was perfectly cooked in Berbere spice, and was outstanding. Only the pumpkin risotto disappointed, bland, under-salted and essentially flavorless (though with good texture.)

Sepia is an outstanding value at lunch. The food is worth the Michelin star, though the risotto needs retiring.

Food and service were awesome. Among our group, we tried just about all food options and loved everything. Only negative was that the seats for our table were really low - uncomfortably so - like being seated at the kids’ table.

Everything about our experience at Sepia was fantastic; from the complimentary coat check at the door, all the service staff and of course the food and sommelier service. She helped me pick the perfect glass to go with my meal. The amuse buche was the perfect start (especially appreciated the accidental second serving), and my beet appetizer and duck main course were delicious. Same could be said for my husband’s Japanese sweet potato ravioli and tri-tip. To cap it off I appreciated the birthday message on the dessert plate and the extra mini desserts at the conclusion. I highly recommend Sepia for any occasion and can’t name a more affordable and approachable yet refined Michelin started restaurant.

Everything went well until the end: when we completed meal it took a 1/2 hour to get plates cleaned and the check. We wanted dessert but had an appointment to meet so no time for dessert

Sepia was delicious. The portions look small, but the flavour is big and the food was very satisfying. Our table each ordered an appetizer and a main and we shared a single desert - the food was so rich and filling.
The room is very vibrant and busy, akin to NYC Resturant’s buzz. It was sometimes hard to hear across the table, but the atmosphere lessened the formalness of the experience.
People seems a little more formal than I would have expected. No short-sleeved shirts. Mostly jacket/ no tie - a business casual situation.
Excellent food. Would recommend.

Service was late. We ordered the tasting menu with wine pairings and they consequently served the wine between the dishes not with. The service personnel was absent and there was a long wait between each serving. The food in it self did not seem to qualify for a Michelin star. The wine servings were disappointingly miniscule. I will definitely not be coming back, let alone recommend this place to others.

We had dined at Sepia several months ago and had a good experience. However our dinner Sunday was very sub par. First off the waiter was rude at best. He was condescending and impatient. The food was not up to prior standards. Three people in our party sent their plates back to the kitchen as the meat was almost raw and it was cold.

This place was amazing. The host and my server Kevin were spectacular. The food was phenomenal and had me feeling like Remy in Ratatouille when he puts the food in his mouth and visualizes the taste in sounds and colors. Food shouldn't just be eaten it should be an experience and Sepia did a magnificent job in providing it.

Absolutely fabulous. We were semi-regulars many years ago when they opened, and were fickle and moved on to all the new spots as they opened... but just went back (with their Michelin star) and were absolutely delighted (as were our clients). Modern, on trend, delicious food, without being so out-there-crazy-trying-too-hard ~ Andrew Zimmerman's food is wonderfully inventive and delicious. Presentations are gorgeous. Service thoughtful and easy-going. Still a beautiful room. AND bonus... we could actually enjoy a conversation WHILE we were eating! Definately you should go.
