Sentido Norte, a Relais & Châteaux restaurant and bar at Casa Chameleon Las Catalinas, proudly offers the best of Coastal Costa Rican cuisine. All food & drink is inspired by the country’s bountiful abundance, combining uniquely local and native ingredients in the glass and on the plate.

Dining in Sentido Norte is like dining in a local friend’s gourmet kitchen. Everything is accounted for, every request can be met, and every–from dish to drink–is delicious.

We strive to create a comfortable and enjoyable experience for all our guests. To maintain this environment, we kindly ask that you refrain from bringing your own beverages, food, or outside drinks. Our restaurants are completely smoke-free, pet-free, and we welcome children aged 10 and above. Please note that we reserve the right to decline service to any party upon arrival if necessary.     This was hands down the best meal we ate in Costa Rica. Stunning views. Delicious food. Excellent service (Dihana was our server). Definitely the only place we would go back to.

    We went for lunch on June 6 2025. Since it is the beginning of the rainy season the restaurant was not very busy. Great for us and we had a very relaxing lunch. Bartender made excellent frisky tini martinis. Had the fresh snapper which was cooked perfect. It was the best meal we had on vacation.

    The food was excellent—high quality, the cocktails were quite good, and the dessert was enjoyable. However, the overall experience fell short. We chose this restaurant for a special occasion but felt a lot of pressure to rush through the meal. The atmosphere, including the staff and kitchen, made it clear that they were already winding down for the night. Despite being asked three times about our special occasion, there was no acknowledgment or thoughtful gesture from the restaurant. I would definitely not recommend booking a reservation after 8:00 PM.

    Wonderful experience. They offer table seatings for 6 and because I had a large party, they worked with us so we could sit together. The view is amazing and recommend doing a reservation for 4:30pm or 5:00pm. Viewing the sunset was the most beautiful thing we saw for the night. Once done with the lounge room, recommend heading straight to your table. Wonderful site and would highly recommend!
