This is a very nice restaurant. Upscale. There is a lounge area inside the entrance with the bar. The dining room is chic but not stuffy. The food was good, everything seemed super fresh and quality ingredients. My only complaint is that our server knew absolutely nothing about the menu. She couldn't answer questions about the dishes, soup of the day, etc., without going to the kitchen to ask someone else.

Thoroughly enjoyed dinner at Senti. Setting was very classy but not pretentious. Menu was very creative with a variety of different choices. Food was excellent. Fettuccine Pasta was so very light & tasty with nice variety of toppings. And pricing was more than fair. Will be back very soon.

I did not think the restaurant overall was as sharp as on previous visits. We enjoyed the evening but things could definitely be tightened up, especially the service - we ordered soup but had to ask for spoons, our servers outfit was rather sloppy. Also our soup was not as hot as it should have been.

Our food was delicious. It was well prepared and promptly served. The lasagne had many layers of flavors. This branzino was prepared perfectly. Our glasses were always filled and our server was very helpful.
Excellent evening.

We had friends in town from Europe and they said that was the best meal they’d had in years! Each of us thought our entrees were fabulous - who knew lasagna could be that mouthwatering?! - And the drinks were unique and delicious as well. Our waitress was knowledgeable about the wine list and suggested great selections. Service was excellent, as was the ambiance. Formal but not stuffy, vibrant but not loud. Senti is our new favorite restaurant!

I was a bit disappointed with the new menu. I hadn’t realized it had changed since I was last there in the Fall. There were very few veggie friendly meals (no longer have vegetable lasagna). The waitress recommended the mushroom steak, but it was dry and tasteless. It’s a shame because this has been a place I enjoyed for special occasions.

Senti is my favorite restaurant in Pittsburgh. Although there are not a lot of vegetarian (or pescatarian) options, there are enough to keep me returning for special occasions - in this case a nice dinner with two long-time friends. The 'feel' of Senti is great - I would call it 'elegant simplicity' - and the service is just about perfect. The staff is friendly and attentive, professional, but they still have personality. My only complaint is that I asked for the salmon to be 'medium well-done' but it was more like 'medium rare.' When one of the guests hadn't yet arrived, two of us wanted to wait outside - Franco brought us a small table and two chairs and drinks, while we waited outside in beautiful weather for our third guest! I felt like I was back in Italy! We lingered after dinner way longer than we should have, but no one hurried us out the door - a perfect evening!

Making a party/4 res 2 days before for an early dinner, I requested a "telephone call to discuss this 75th birthday celebration" -- never got the call. On arrival, we rec'd a cordial greeting by a hostess hostess led us to a nice corner table with no windows. Somebody has to sit there, right? But we were probably the most well-dressed patrons &, at least in the old school of fine dining, we would have been given the option of a table front & center (which I don't care for) or a window table. With the relatively few number of diners at this hour I could have requested a different table, but chose not to because we were interested in our own quiet celebration. My 4 stars for ambiance is because nearly all other patrons were wearing shorts or t-shirts or both. I know it's a quandary for fine dining establishment owners, but I feel the ambiance suffers without some reasonable dress code. I've used up 10 lines on 3 details that mattered to me, but feel no negativity about Senti, other than to be top-notch you must pay attention to details in every sector. Moving on, 4-stars for value was ONLY because I felt that some wines could have been more reasonably priced. As for the dining itself? Go. Go directly to Senti. It's not necessary that I do a summation of every dish or wine consumed. Everything was superb &, unless you need to prove your epicurean prowess by searching for at least some little thing wrong with every Pgh dining experience, you will find it superb as well. That includes the service. I had signaled to our waiter that I wanted to handle the bill, while a bit later I sensed that one of the gents was maneuvering to pay for the wines, at least. As a female, it has happened to me in the past that the male's request overrules. Not this time. Perfect service. En toto!
BONUS: Small parking lot across street is a plus in the crowded street parking of Lawrenceville.

Dramatically improved over our last visit. Food was excellent and hot, salads were very fresh and full of fresh veggies, excellent lemon cheesecake desert. Waitress paid just the right amount of attention to us and we never needed for a thing.

This was our first time eating at this restaurant and overall it was a very pleasant experience. We ate on the earlier side so cannot comment on how crowded or noisy it may get later in the evening. Our food was very tasty, well prepared and well presented. The branzino was very delicious and my husband enjoyed his salmon very much as did our friend who had steak. Our other friend is on a gluten free diet and there were a number of options available to her and she was pleased with her selections of a tomato soup and a beet salad. The service was attentive and accommodating and we will definitely return to Senti again.

Repeat customers ...The food is very well presented, not over seasoned, flavorful and very nice portions. Pomodora sauce was excellent (made from fresh tomatoes) as well as all the dishes our large party enjoyed. Not an extremely large menu, but offers classic dishes and those with interesting flavor combinations. There is always something for everyone's palate. Portions are ample, even for pasta dishes you will find the pasta piled high, plentiful and full of "made from scratch" flavors. Fish dishes never overdone.
Water glasses always filled, waitress attentive, efficient and finished dishes removed promptly...all over... restaurant doesn't disappoint and food consistently good...

As always, this is a great place for a dinner for 2 or a dinner with 6 friends. Franco and his wonderful team do a spectacular job of putting on their best of everything, every night they are open. I've never brought someone new to the restaurant and not have them rave and promise to return on their own.

Excellent menu choices, with great service, but very loud- they could use some sound deadening decorative elements on the wall/ceiling/between seating areas, etc., to make it a much more enjoyable experience where one can hear each other for pleasant talk with friends.

Conveniently located on Butler Street. The service was prompt and attentive. We shared a fried seafood appetizer. We both had fish entrees, both of which were flavorful. We wrapped up dinner with a Cappuccino and Tiramisu.

The inside of the restaurant has a nice modern aesthetic. However, it is very exposed to the street which takes away from the feel.

Overall the experience was good but not memorable.

The atmosphere and staff were inviting and responsive throughout the evening. We began with cocktails at the bar that were very enjoyable. Our table of 7 shared appetizers that were all unusual in preparation, nicely portioned and delicious. We all had not so traditional Italian main courses that everyone enjoyed with gusto, from the spaghetti arabiatta with octopus, to the osso bucco to the bronzini, to name a few. It was a very nicely adorned setting that invited an engaging meal and fun evening. The nice variety of desserts should not be missed. We will return. Thank you!
