Recent news events meant we had the entire place to our selves. We were very well taken care of. Appetizers and Entrees were all very well received by our entire party. We will definitely be back.
Sensi is a true treat! We enjoyed every moment from the time we were seated, throughout our meal and dessert, until we were sent on our way. The staff took great care of us, making us feel welcome. The food was authentic and beautifully presented. We will return!
food too salty but service and ambiance spectacular
Ambiance was really cool. Service was attentive and kind. They noticed the small things which made the meal feel special to us. Would definitely go hear again for special nights out. Probably hard to spend less than $75 for 2 people, and you can easily exceed $100 if you do drinks and dessert.
Food was exceptional! Plan to be patient but the wait is well worth it. (15-20 minute for entree on a busy Saturday night.) Overall we very pleased. This will be our new regular for Italian.
We made a reservation and arrived on time it was a cold night so my wife asked if she could get a table away from the windows. The hostess said no those tables were reserved. She then us at abtable by the window. As we left those tables that were still open away from the window. The food and wine was basically overpriced we would not return
Nice ambience and atmosphere. Waiters super friendly but not "good servers".
Not aware about drinks (my husband ask for bourbons).
Order risotto came gnocchi, not so bad once we like gnocchi but it wasn't our order. Order potatoes, didn't come, need to ask again.
The side of gnocchi, cauliflower was brought later to the table.
Ask for extra bread, never came.
Ask for extra drink, need to ask again.
Again, nice place, friendly staff but not good service.
Just 3 tables that night.
We had reservations for 6:30pm and were seated immediately upon arrival. All but a couple of tables downstairs were occupied. Our waitress took cocktail & appetizer orders and returned shortly with bread and olive oil. Bread was warm and the olive oil was very good. We shared the Pizza Frita appetizer which we both agreed was excellent. First course orders were Pappardelle Pomodorini which was excellent and Potato Ravioli which was OK but not very tasty. It was supposed to have anchovy as an ingredient which would have added some flavor but there was no indication that anchovy was added.....perhaps it was finely ground when added. For the 2nd course we ordered the Black Cod and the Brasato di Manzo (braised beef). The cod was excellent but the braised beef was just OK. It's sauce was heavy and over-powered the beef IMO. Service up through the 1st course was good but then the wait between 1st and 2nd course was unacceptably long. Our waitress apologized a few times for the wait explaining that there was a back-up in the kitchen as things got busy (the restaurant was full but seemed like the kitchen staff should be able to handle what seemed like to us a normal Saturday evening). We did not have dessert. We've read comments from others that the portion sizes were small but we found them more than adequate. Overall an acceptable, but not extraordinary dining experience. Note that prices are high with our tab totaling $145 for 1 appetizer, 2 courses for two, 1 cocktail and 2 glasses of wine. It's worth another visit and we'll try it again.
The evening started off with cocktails and 2 of 4 were incorrectly prepared. There was only one bartender but delivery was slow even though it didn't appear busy. The appetizers were not delivered to the correct person. This is a small issue but the needs to work on their coordination .The scallops appetizer were prepared very well but the mozzarella was dry. After a long wait, dinner was presented, also delivered to the incorrect person. For dinner the black cod and branzino were good but the opinion of those present was that the chicken cacciatora was not as expected (no sauce, no mushrooms and sort of bland. Expresso for dessert took 10 minutes as it is prepared by the bartender. Throughout the meal our waiter would disappear and not checkin once meals were served. This was our first trip and all agreed it will not be a repeat.
I had a wonderful anniversary dinner here! The service was wonderful! The food was delicious! I really enjoyed my pasta dish! My husband got the risotto and he liked his dish, as well!
I went to Sensi to do the 7 course tasting menu and came away very disappointed. The website definitely over-sells the experience. The chef got a Michelin star at a restaurant in Italy so I was looking forward to what he brought to the table. It very much felt that the chef gave a list of dishes to the sous chefs and then left them to their own devices. The food itself tasted okay. However none of it was unique nor mind-blowing. The portions were so large that after 4 courses I was too full to really enjoy the dishes. 6 courses were savory, the 7th was a dessert course...a rich, dense chocolate torta (my husband liked it, I was very underwhelmed with both the taste and how uninspired it was). The wait staff was pleasant, though they didn't seem to have any experience serving a tasting menu. When a dish was delivered, most told us what the main ingredient on the plate was, but I can tell what a scallop is...tell me what else is on the plate, or why the chef put certain ingredients together.
We also chose to do the wine pairings. Alas, the wines were poured at the bar and delivered in glasses to us. What I have experienced everywhere else I've ever done a wine pairing, and what I much prefer, is to have them bring the bottle to the table so you can see what you will be drinking. Our waiter told us the type of wine only- pinot grigio, cabernet sauvignon, etc. But couldn't tell us the winemaker, region, etc. We were able to speak with the manager at the very end of the meal when the check was brought to us. For a half-full restaurant, we thought the manager might make an appearance earlier in our visit (even at Texas Roadhouse managers come check on you in the middle of your meal!) Hopefully some of our thoughts and suggestions were taken to heart and should you choose to do the tasting menu at Sensi it will be a much more positive experience.
For the price that we paid, we were severely disappointed, not at all worth it. Maybe just better for a casual dinner.
This is the 2nd time I've been to the restaurant and something is off. The wait staff was frazzled and there weren't that many customers. There was no bartender. No one ever asked if we want a drink, which is highly unusual in a restaurant. The food was very good, but not outstanding
This was our second time to Sensi. The cacio e Pepe is amazing! The deserts are wonderful. We had the Tiramisu and a dish that had orange flavored pound cake, chocolate torte, chocolate gelato with a hint of chili. Wow! The gelato was so smooth and creamy.
Nice looking restaurant, nice decor. We went for Valentine’s Day and the menu was limited. Some items had not been translated well. Starters arrived before our drinks. They were fine but lacked seasoning. Asked for salt and pepper and it took 5 mins for them to find some. Entrees of beef and fish were both slimy. Not pleasant. Then before our dessert we were brought bread with oil by mistake. My dessert was fine but my husband’s tiramisu was very disappointing. We complained and they kindly offered to take off the entrees from the bill. We received the bill but it was for full amount. Had to ask for the amended bill.
We didn’t care for the limited Valentines menu. My pasta was good. My husband didn’t enjoy the steak - it wasn’t bad. Just not great. We’ll try again when we can order from the full menu.
The food was unique, but very tasty. The tiramisu had an odd taste, however I loved the pasta and wine. Impressive bartender! Very quiet and relaxing atmosphere.
The staff and service was great. We were not made aware they had a limited menu that weekend, would have been nice to know as the selections were pretty basic.
It is a good restaurant but overall was disappointed as we were expecting much more. Have been in some Michelin chef restaurants before and definitely it has a long to improve to get to the same level. But still it is a good food experience overall. Very nice staff and service.
Tealtively good value for a fixed menu. Portions were fine and food quality good. Music was too loud and probably inapprpriate for an intimate dinner. Server was very attentive.
This was our second time dining at Sensi and we were hoping for a better experience than the first. Unfortunately that was not the case.
We had the sea bass, which was tiny and uninteresting at best. The scallops appetizer was OK... no complaints there. Our server was very poor. It took multiple requests to get a 2nd glass of wine and he was generally not attentive.
The finishing touch to the evening however was the Tiramisu. Like everything else, it took quite a while to appear. When I took a bite it was clear that, no matter how hard they tried to dress it up, it was not Tiramisu. It was a couple of small chocolate chip cookies covered in a ton of whipped cream. I don’t know if they ran out and tried to pass this for the real thing, or if this is their “special” version of a classic desert. In either case it was not acceptable and I sent it back.
The whole experience was disappointing, which is unfortunate since we live so close and would be regulars if it wasn’t so bad.
The food is HORRIBLE!! I ordered the papardelle and received a plate of very undercooked, almost inedible fettuccine with 3 sundried tomatoes. My husband’s spaghetti was basically a child’s side order of butter noodles, also undercooked. The appetizers were no better. This place spent way too much on ambience and not nearly enough on quality ingredients and kitchen staff. I doubt it will be here long. We will never be going back.
Really enjoyed our experience at Sensi from beginning to end. Food was delicious with high quality of preparation and presentation. House made limoncello a must! Excellent!
I had high hopes for our first visit to Sensi, but unfortunately the quality of the meal was subpar, so our first visit will be our last. Starting with the Buffalo mozzarella, it had the consistency and flavor of store bought product. The Frisee salad just tasted like salt, the ravioli had no flavor and the ragout on the black cod tasted burnt. Then to top it off the tiramisu was like eating poorly crushed coffee beans with whipped cream on them. Our experience would have been a complete bust, but for the extremely professional service from the wait staff.
It was terrible. Service was awful and food was less than average. For a new restaurant, I was shocked how little they cared about our experience. Appetizer was wrong. Dinner took 45 mins to arrive. No effort to make better. Server couldn’t have cared less. Won’t go back.
We had a great table but there was a very loud group of people near us. Food was very good and our server was very helpful and pleasant but I think she could have had some help. She seemed to be the only one taking orders. Overall I would give it 4 stars.
Very interesting, varied menu. Pasta made in house and prepared/presented especially well. Manager was nicely attentive. Overall environment is really nice; creative decor. Noise level is better than most, these days.
Thank you for taking time to leave us a review, Bob. We look forward to serving you again soon! -Sensi
Awful awful awful! I have no doubt they won't be in business much longer so I won't go into detail about our experience. However, when we brought up our dismay to the manager (after sending a several things back bc they were so awful), we got eye rolls, attitude, and a receipt thrown at our table then lied to about a refund. I called later in the week because the refund never showed up.....no answer, no call back. Terrible service and terrible food.....don't waste your time/money.
We had a 8:45 reservation, arrived around 8:30 and we were sat at a table at 9:30pm. We ordered a bottle of red wine which was served cold. When I commented on how cold the wine was, we were told “sorry” and “that’s how it’s stored.” The staff was very kind and apologetic about the wait, but it got a bit frustrating to wait that long. We observed several open tables while they told us they were still clearing tables. They did provide a discount on our dinner, but the food wasn’t great. The appetizers were good. Meals were average. I ordered the tiramisu for dessert and it was the worst I ever had. It really was a bowl of whip cream (may be a result of the last table there). Overall, deeply disappointed.
Our waitress Courtney was very good. The food was ok.... nothing that I feel was notable or outstanding. I did order an entree and was informed after I ate the appetizer that Sensi had sold out of my entree choice. Since I don't eat fish/seafood it limited my choices and the kitchen staff didn't offer me a menu to look at it again to pick something else and suggested I have the beef.
Heather, thank you for sharing your feedback. Please accept our apologies for having sold out of the entree you wanted. We hope to have the pleasure of serving you again sometime. -Sensi
It is a beautiful atmosphere, the food (specifically the braised beef and calamari) were exceptional. They were extremely busy the night we were there and it took an hour for us to get our first course. We just enjoyed a couple of glasses of wine and being child free. While most would find it burdensome, we found it as a gift to enjoy each others company. I would 100% go back again.
Beth, thank you for sharing your feedback, and for being so gracious under the circumstances. We appreciate your optimism and we are glad that you enjoyed a relaxing dining experience. We look forward to serving you again! -Sensi
Took my parents for their birthday. My dinner was good. Definitely need to work out the kinks with the service. It was extremely slow and they were out of a lot of things like decaf coffee and one of the desserts on the rest week menu. I’m hoping they can fix the service issues.
Angela, thank you for leaving us a review. Admittedly we fell short on service on Saturday night. Please accept our apologies. You can be sure we are already working on improvements and we will be ready for your next visit. Thank you again. -Sensi
The food was good, but not exceptional. The cocktails were not good. The ambiance was good and the service was fine.
Thank you for your feedback, Shalini.
I’ve never walked out of a restaurant before. I made our reservation well ahead of time. We were a party of six, arrived in time, and they proceeded to seat us at a table set for five. They then pulled a chair over and seated one of my friends at the end of the table, directly in front of the kitchen door. We asked to please be moved to another table, and it became a production.
The manager told us they’d move us downstairs to another table in ‘just a few minutes’. We were offered water, and then the staff essentially ghosted us. After nearly 45 minutes of waiting, we were not asked if we wanted drinks or anything. I wonder if they realized we left.
Went across the street to Via Roma and had an amazing dinner and excellent service. I would never recommend Sensi to anyone after this experience.
Our appetizers were good but my entree a ragout pasta was very chewy. Not al dente, but undercooked. The panna cotta desert was not creamy as it should be but had too much gelatin. Our waiter was a very nice young man but insufficiently trained in pouring wine. As in he was about to skip the taste and go straight to pouring. My husband had to stop him.
Silvana, thank you for taking time to leave your feedback. Please accept our apologies that the pasta and panna cotta were not to your liking. We aim to please, so we are always happy to recook or substitute an item for our guests. It sounds like we fell short on the wine service, and we are in the process of training a few new staff members. Please know that you will have a better wine experience next time you dine with us. Thank you again for your feedback. -Sensi
Apps, desserts and wine selection was good. Main courses were not. Pasta with heavy olive taste was not edible, another pasta stuffed with meat was edible but not great, gnocchi was not bad, braised beef was pretty good. Service was very good, ambiance is nice, bar is cool. Will limit to drinks and apps at bar until they improve their food.
Pro Eater, thank you for taking time to share your feedback. We will be offering several new menu items in the next two weeks. We look forward to serving you again! -Sensi
Terrific meal. Very creative food and presentations. Efficient and knowledgeable service.
Went there for restaurant week. I had been there 6 months ago for dinner, wanted to try it again. Was busy on a Wednesday night, so I am glad we had a reservation. Everything was excellent- the food, the service, the wine, portion size, and great selection for a special menu. Only comment was our table placement- there were two of us and we were seated at a table at the bottom of the stairs, in the middle of the traffic pattern. I realize it was busy, however I did make a reservation..... Otherwise a great dinner, glad to see the restaurant busy and lots of happy diners! Service is amazing.
My 3 year old son had an allergic reaction to the appetizer and all they did was ask us to take him to the restroom so we do not disturb the other guest. I thought the waitress was very rude and inconsiderate since I was the only one sitting there with a 4 year old and a barely 3 year old whole my husband went to get medicine. Don't get sick there they might ask to go die in the restroom.
The food was delicious and the server was attentive. The decor is modern and unique. unfortunately, the seats are a bit uncomfortable. It was cold inside and the open space with high ceilings did not help that. Would return again for the food and bring an extra wrap or light jacket to wear inside.
We made reservations for Queen’s Feast. Our server was spectacular. She made great recommendations and they were delicious. The calamari was unusual and terrific. The panzenella was very good also. Diane ordered Merluzzo, black cod, which was excellent. I ordered Brasato, braised beef, and it melted in your mouth. The restaurant is unique with bottle chandelier and bottle side lights. Everything was great and we will go again soon. You have to try this restaurant.
