Senor Budhha – New And Innovative Starting life as an experiment in taste, Señor Buddha has evolved out of proprietor Lee Shipley creating new and innovative dishes centred on his two favourite cuisines; East Asian and Spanish.

East Asian Tapas Señor Buddha, located on Preston Road in the Preston Circus area of Brighton, offers an ever changing menu of tapas style dishes, crafted in the restaurant’s open kitchen with a heavy East Asian influence. East Asian cuisine has 4 main elements; hot, salty, sweet &; sour – the food is fresh, aromatic, colourful and bursting in flavour, yet very delicate.

Lee says “I wanted to push the boundaries using some of the Spanish tried and tested classics, but with East Asian flavours. These cuisines both rely heavily on fresh ingredients and big, contrasting flavours, meaning they effortlessly complement each other when fused together.”

We sat at the window table in this cosy restaurant last night and enjoyed an exquisite selection of fantastic food. We couldn't choose which dishes to have, so ordered the entire menu! There was not a single dish we didn't enjoy - such an amazing variety for veggies and meat eaters alike, with a fusion of incredible flavours and fab presentation. The service we received was equally fantastic, and the fact that the restaurant was small and intimate added to the experience. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough and will definitely be returning when we are next in Brighton.

Service was lacking - staff generally a bit stand-offish, not particularly quick. It wasn't enormously busy. Food was mediocre at best - the Kimchi pork was OK but a lot of money for not a lot of food. The patatas bravas were inedible, being smothered in a sickly sauce with too much chilli. I like spicy food as much as anyone, but none of us could eat these. I wouldn't go back.

Small place and quite cold in there to start, it was early so wasn't busy so not much atmosphere. Food was really good, I would try it again.

We were a group of four two of us on a second visit - we order more or less one of everything from the menu all realy well presented and tasty, thee bottles of wine all very drinkable, a good night!

A real gem of a restaurant. Lovely, informal and relaxed atmosphere with freshly cooked, delicious food. Great service and very knowlegable staff. Very good value for money. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening and will definitely be going again
