   Selva did not disappoint. Every item on the menu surpasses expectations. I have been lucky enough to eat here twice and everyone needs to visit!!! The service is always stellar and the cocktails are out of this world. What a gem!!!

   The lamp chops has too much seasoning on top no flavor .. the dock my wife requested was terrible.. very rubbery kinda ..the skin should be crispy has no flavor ,the pear resoto we very bad as well .. we ordered pisco sour Peruvian drink was very bad as well very warm… we spend a lots of money in this horrible restaurant .. I do not recommend to go there They need need to Learn how cook

   Our server Michael work with my wife to select gluten free items on the menu. The service was professional, engaging, and timely. The food was artistically presented, and very flavorful. The price was reasonable . We highly recommend Selva

   Our server, Linda was amazing in light of the fact that we were outside with our dog and it started to rain. I found a nice covered spot and was very appreciated. She was extremely attentive and knowledgeable.

    Seated promptly for 6pm reserve at requested outdoor table. Our server Eric (Erik?) came by, greeted us and introduced himself. Upon some information exchanges, we ordered cocktails (El Santo and Blackberry Pisco Sour) and perused the menu, which continues to be excellent! Mrs. ordered the Seafood Paella Risotto, and I took on the lamb and lobster Mar y Tierra special. We began with starter Empanadas 2x, 1 beef and 1 spinach; both flavorful and nicely filled. After some time to chat, the mains arrived and were both delicious, the Risotto freshly prepared, cheesy, generous seafood and plentiful enough for a take home portion. The lamb & lobster surf/turf was excellent- lamb cooked to my medium order and the lobster tail tender sweet and buttery!! Eric was a great host, helping with a wine selection for the Risotto, and unobtrusively attentive. All this and a well run house continues to sustain Selva’s sterling reputation.

    We have been loyal customers visiting the Selva Grill(downtown) for 16 years. We celebrate most of our birthday and anniversary dates here as well as bringing others to enjoy. Superb food and a special quaintness for our dining has always been wonderful. When the weather allows, we make reservations for the patio area , back corner table. Having requested and been seated at this special table (for us) many times in the past, we again made a special request for that table for 6 PM to celebrate a birthday and Mothers Day. Unfortunately the table was occupied by a couple and their two children when we arrived and weren’t nearly finished eating so we chose to be re-seated and were put at a very small 2-top by the main door. The family remained seated until 6:45pm. Our disappointment was that Open-Table filled our reservation with our special request, as they have in the past, but now that the request was already filled by a family during our request time, we were not going to wait for our table to open. . On at least 2 occasions in the past, Selva personnel has phoned us if there are any issues with our ‘special requests’ This is why we love the restaurant.. I’m telling you this because it was so disappointing and we were so upset with the location we sat due to the cramped and busy spot. Thanks for listening.

    Was seated in the smaller area by the bar. bar wasn't crowded so noise level was low. My 83 year old mother said it was the best meal of her life... We both had the Chilean Sea Bass and it was excellent. lobster bisque, lobster tostados...excellent. The short ribs were a bit too fatty and grissly... but still tasty Perfect Mother's Day meal!

    Selection, service and food/drinks were all fantastic. The downtown location could use a bit of a remodel even though the large wall of art was very nice. Of course parking is an issue but it’s only because it’s a downtown location and for us it was only remarkable because it was pouring rain outside.

    One of the most consistently good restaurants in Sarasota. The "starter" portions are big enough to make a meal out of, which is what we usually do. Love the Crab Napoleon and the spicy tuna ceviche (which isn't all that spicy.) Excellent cocktails. Beautiful presentation. We dine here often when we are in town.

    This was far and away the best meal we have had during our trip to Sarasota! Good service and food was simply amazing. The short rib spring rolls are an absolute must order! Amazing all the way around…presentation and flavor! Drinks were fantastic! The only downside was the chairs outside were uncomfortable! Special thanks to our waiter.     I've never had a bad experience at Selva. It's hard for me not to order the lamb - because it's perfection on a plate, but I occasionally force myself to make another selection. I've never had a bad meal and the service is always exceptional. It can get loud inside, but it's a minor inconvenience. The parking garage around the corner solved the only other issue I've had in the past.

    We were on our mini vacation and heard my great reviews about Selva. Our experience was good, except the hostess did not follow through with what she said she will do. Our reservation was for outdoor seating but the weather was raining and windy. I asked if she can put us inside because the rain and wind is affecting our experience, she never come back to us at all to let us know ether way. Second I ordered their famous Selva skirt steak over plantain, I ordered it medium and came rare. Our server was very apologetic and took my steak back. My steak came back and my date had finished her Octopus and we were not able to enjoy dinner together. Our server informed us that they opened another location a few miles away and have different vibe to it. So I booked another reservation back to back so we can experience the true Selva as it was meant to be. Our experience at the Selva In University Park was outstanding thank you to the two managers and our server Kelsey for making up our not so satisfying experience at their original Selva location.
