Was seated rather promptly, loved the decor and ambiance. I use to frequent at previous business that was here as I love in FiDi. Place is really nice, staff was super friendly and attentive. Started w appetizers ( zucchini chips ) and raw bar, did not disappoint at all. For dinner I had the ribeye and my wife had lobster tails. Both were on point and very impressed. Will definitely see my face here more often

Sadly the quality of the food has declined rapidly. The lamb chops were fatty and the meat on the combination plate smelled like it had turned slightly bad prior to being cooked. Here'e the easy fix: Find a restaurant manager who knows not to sit in the back of the restaurant when customers are in the establishment. Find a cook who knows how to cook, select quality meats and knows how to rotate the food in the kitchen to avoid spoiling. The restaurant is beautiful and could be a destination.

Very cute place in the Wall Street area. Will be a go-to for sure. Selene's Pikilla is a big, delicious appetizer. Zucchini chips were crisp and yummy. Friendly server.

The service was fantastic thanks to our servers. Food came out quickly and everything we had tasted amazing. Would def recommend for a cute date night or dinner with the girls!! The lamb was my favorite also the octopus and zucchini chips were to die for! Lol

Great food and service. Met a friend for lunch and we had the fixed price lunch entrees which gave you a wonderful meal and a bang for the buck. Also we ordered the octopus and it was and tender. The best. I highly recommend Selene Rest.

Wonderful dinner at Selene. The watermelon salad and red snapper were both outstanding, as was the Nutella dessert that I finished with. The service was excellent and the prices most reasonable. A terrific dining option in the Financial District.

I honestly wish it was better, it could be a neighborhood gem for me, but I was extremely dissatisfied. Although the staff was very nice, Too many people working with no real direction on good quality service. They are spending more time on what they want the place to be versus the task at hand with the few clients that were there. Food, definitely could be better. Unfortunately I have nothing of value to offer for a nearby diner. I really want this place to do well and be great it could be such a great place!!!!

I went with a group of five people and we LOVED it! We shared four appetizers, four entrees, and dessert, and the food was incredible. APPS: Octopus was cooked to perfection The spreads were tasty and the pita was divine Tuna tartar was fresh and the perfect size for sharing Oysters were fresh and perfect! DINNER: The lamb chops are probably the best I've EVER had (and I've been to Greece!). We shared two fish dishes ( the sea bass and branzino) both well-prepared - no bones and very tasty. Everything was fresh, presented beautifully and delicious. SERVICE: Our serve was incredible - we always had drinks and the recommendations were spot on! I would absolutely recommend this restaurant if you're downtown, or if your uptown try Tinos (a sister restaurant)

I went for a Sunday brunch with my husband. We had made the reservation for 11:45 Am. We got there on time. Once there, we were just two of us. When we left, the restaurant was still empty. Also, It was pouring out there, which might be the reason for the emptiness.

Selene is a must visit new spot in the Financial District. The hardest part was deciding which of the many great options to order! The salmon was definitely the right choice. Perfect spot for our late lunch!

Overall great experience! The waitstaff was attentive but didn’t rush us, great for a business lunch. It’s hard to find well prepared octopus in this city, but they nailed it. Everyone in our party ordered steaks, each one came out exactly as we asked, cooked perfectly to our liking. Drinks were great too. Will definitely be going back next time I have clients in town!

I was pleasantly surprised stumbling on to this little hidden gem in Fidi. The unique outside flower decor happened to catch my attention. Then taking a peak at the menu made it a sure bet to try. The warm welcoming attentive staff explained some of the traditional Mediterranean dishes but also the reinvented specialties were to die for. A simple watermelon salad with arugula dabbled with a drizzle of a secret dressing was the start for my happy palette. The complementary soup was to die for…. Followed by the most delicious Bronzino and steak. Unique menu of custom mixologists created cocktails should not go unnoticed as well. Definitely nothing like this place anywhere in the area. Highly recommend… if you can get a reservation.

Arrived for 12:15 business lunch, booked via Open Table. Strong smell of detergent, as the only two people in sight were the manager (doubling as the only waiter) and a janitor, who continued cleaning in the dining room during our entire meal (and - longer - wait time). We, a party of four, were the only guests. We should have retreated right then! Seated at a recently set up table, which despite the janitor's presence still had food stains from the previous night. Found a half empty glass on the window sill next to our table. Manager offered to reseat us at the adjacent table, which managed to feel cramped even though we were the only guests. Took forever to take our orders, which conveniently consisted of 3x the same starter (Greek salad) and main (grilled halibut on sauteed vegetables), plus 1 moussaka. Not exactly complicated, right? Took the waiter 30 minutes to serve the salad and nearly another 30 for the fish. Both were edible but nothing to write home about. One person in my party had to leave in the middle of his meal because he had to return to work (he not unreasonably had budgeted an hour for a workday lunch break in the FiDi). Did I mention the smell of detergent? It persisted throughout the meal. We left at 2 to rush back to the office and catch up with work. I rest my case.

It's not yet fully up to speed (i.e. they don't serve coffee yet) but the food is delicious and lovingly prepared and plated, and waiter Tamer is a gem.
