Loved our dinner here. My husband and I shared the fried oysters with sweet potato fries and coleslaw. Each drank a pour of Kentucky bourbon. Their bread pudding was “to die for” and huge! Took some home.

We invite out family to dine with us. They live out of town. As we were being seated. We got as whiff of marijuana from the staff huddled together across from the hostess area. This is totally unacceptable. If it were not for us entertaining family. We as a couple would have left. That is not the place nor time for staff to taking part of something that should not be imposed on paying customers. Sad to say we will not be recommending Selena’s to others.

The service was exceptional. Everything was exceptional, except for the price. Seemed a bit pricey to me for casual dining. But our server made up for that. He was wonderful with descriptions and suggestions - all with a delightful sense of humor.

The food was delicious. We loved the spinach dip, gumbo and shrimp. The staff was amazing especially the manager who helped make my friend have an extra special birthday with his thoughtfulness! A great place to celebrate Fat Tuesday!

Great pasta and cajun food. Jambalaya, gumbo, shrimp, red beans and rice or a combo plate of all of it is great. Also, the Chicken Piccata is one of my favorites. From the outside, it does not look like much even with a gravel parking lot. Don't be fooled by that the food and service are great. For the specials, always ask the price some of them are very high. They recently raised their prices so most entrees are now $28-32 This is a favorite with the locals.

Not a special occasion, just a lovely evening with my dad. He ordered the special, which I think was the grouper (if not grouper, definitely a fish dish like grouper…he loves that!) with asparagus and red beans/rice. I was having trouble choosing my entree, and my dad said “if your mom were here she would have had the chicken parmigiana…so of course I had that in her memory and the evening was perfect. Nothing I would change, would recommend.

The food was not good at all. The “grilled” shrimp literally was just grilled with no other seasoning. The steak was thin and over cooked as well as the shrimp in the sauce over the grouper. Very over cooked. Not sure what the sauce was on the Brussel sprouts either. We had heard good things about this restaurant but we won’t be back. To much $$ to pay for bad food.

I was really looking forward to an awesome meal based on the reviews. But I have to say it most certainly did not live up to its reputation. I had the lasagna and it was served cold and really lacked in flavor and depth. The waitress did get me a fresh hot serving but it still was just a giant glob of mozzarella cheese, soggy noodles and not much more. I tried my daughter popcorn shrimp and it too was lacking. Soggy and no real seasoning to speak of. For a meal we paid over $100 for and that’s without anything but waters I felt as if we greatly overpaid for what we got. Now while the food always sorely lacking I will say the ambiance was nice. Very cozy and rustic!

It was fine but I missed the nightly specials and the soup of the day. I was not at all impressed with the valentines menu and I understand that some people also go out over the weekend for valentines . We always go on they same day of so if you are going to do that it would have been nice to still offer the soup of the day and another pasta special at least you normally do.

Dinner date with another couple to celebrate my wife's birthday. After drink orders arrived food order placed. Appetizers arrived quickly and was excellent. I want to love Selenas. Quite honestly, it is hit or miss. Last week was great, although expensive. This week, service was slow-- she had lots of tables. I'd hope paying 20.00 for a shrimp sandwich would allow for Gulf shrimp. I was surprised to find out the shrimp are from the Phillipines. I won't be able to get that sandwich anymore. I do love the atmosphere and every time we sit in the bar, it is great!

First time visiting Selena's for a Sunday Brunch and was impressed! Great selection of breakfast/brunch items. Be sure to order some fresh beignets, a Selena's specialty and well worth it! Soft, warm and deliscious. I opted for a cup of gumbo and was some of the best I've had in this region. Great spices and flavor...it does have a little heat so sensitive palates be forwarned. Ordered the Creole Omelet and it did not dissapoint. Eggs were cooked perfectly and enjoyed the Creole sauce on top of the omelet. Selena's is a hidden gem that I am glad I experienced. I've not eaten here for dinner as of yet but the menu is influenced by Italian and Creole culinary roots. I will venture back for sure and excited to sit outdoors when the weather is warmer. Staff was friendly and courteous. You can tell the restaruant has a family oriented style and vibe.
